Information Specially for all the new members:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Monthly walks are held every 2nd Saturday of the month, rain or shine we will be there!  Thunder & lightning, we shall all be hiding!<\/p>\n

Dear all SHCians, <\/p>\n

This month, together, let us scale our country’s only Mount, which is also one of the oldest park, MT Faber.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Some asked "can climb meh?"  Let me assure you, YOU CAN!     \"emoticon\" <\/p>\n

Come along and you shall be pleasantly surprised when soon you reached the top of the Mount ! <\/p>\n

There are a few trails.  Marang Trail has been selected because of its location and that it has a combination — a route for an easier climb yet, the same route also provides a slightly different gradient for those who need a little more legwork.  NO back breaking, leg hurting trail like the one I had trudged long ago.<\/p>\n

Let’s Get Physical<\/strong>!!! for 10 to 15mins  — a sky reach; an arch; a stretch perhaps, is what you need.<\/p>\n

Then with nimble feet you shall rise up the Mount, to behold the panoramic view of the skyline,the southern part of Singapore and the southern islands.<\/p>\n

This view shall take your breath away, not so much the climb!   \"emoticon\"<\/p>\n

A ship in calm waters, nostalgic trails, treasures of history and a Jewel you will find; a conquestto boast!  2 hours on a Mount, as you linger… as the wind whispers ….\"emoticon\"<\/p>\n

Start Time<\/strong>:  4.15pm  (ie., we start 15mins earlier, than normal time)<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Date<\/strong>:  Saturday, 8th September ’07. <\/p>\n

Meeting Place<\/strong>:  at the foothill of Mt Faber – Marang Trail ie., if you are coming via<\/p>\n

(*) MRT or Bus<\/strong>: proceed to Basement 1, HarbourFront MRT Station, look for "Exit D"<\/strong>, walk up to ground level, behold.. Mt Faber!     and I shall be waiting…<\/p>\n

Getting there<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

via MRT<\/strong> – HarbourFront MRT station, proceed to Basement 1…. see (*)<\/strong><\/p>\n

via Bus<\/strong> – SBS 10, 30, 61, 65, 80, 97, 100, 131, 143, 145, 166.    Tibs 855.<\/p>\n

1.  alight at Vivo City, proceed to Basement 1…. see (*)<\/strong><\/p>\n

2.  alight at Seah Im bus-stop, walk forward 1 min. is Exit D at ground level<\/u>.<\/p>\n

Parking is available at Vivo City, HarbourFront and Seah Im Carpark.  Standard fees apply.<\/p>\n

Gentle Reminder<\/u>:<\/p>\n

1)  Always wear comfortable shoes; light, loose clothing; bring a small bottle of water;      poncho\/umbrella.<\/p>\n

2)  Optional items: cap, sun block, camera\/binoculars, insect repellant.<\/p>\n
