I thought they might be in demand now.<\/p>\n<p>Does anyone in SHC know the <span style=\"color: #800000\">value<\/span> of the old currencies shown in the image below? It will save me a trip to the antique shops if someone does.\u00a0\u00a0:) \u00a0The image shows:<\/p>\n<p>Top row (l-r): Japanese one dollar; Japanese fifty cents.<\/p>\n<p>Mid row (l-r): Malaya and British Borneo one dollar; Japanese five cents.<\/p>\n<p>Bottom row (l-r): Malaya one dollar; Malaya ten cents.<\/p>\n<p>Coins (l-r): Malaya 20 cents; 10 cents; 5 cents \u2013 all obverse King George VI.<\/p>\n<p>Square coin: Straits Settlements 1 cent \u2013 obverse King George V.<\/p>\n<p>It was quite interesting scrutinizing these old notes and coins and thinking of the history of early Singapore.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/silverhairsclub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/CDs-004.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-19769\" src=\"https:\/\/silverhairsclub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/CDs-004-200x150.jpg\" alt=\"OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA\" width=\"200\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was at the bank to deposit some money including some old currency notes that are legal tender when it dawned on me they might be collector\u2019s items and worth more than their face value.\u00a0 I also have some Japanese \u2018banana\u2019 money that used to be worthless.
