Let&#8217;s think about love and friendship.&nbsp; A Japanese once told me that in Japan it is also referrred to as Tomo-choko (???)&nbsp;&nbsp; <br \/>Tomo meaining friend; choko meaning chocolate.&nbsp; Got the &#8216;hint&#8217;? &#8230;make this a Memorable Valentine&#8217;s Day!&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/silverhairsclub.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/Wysi-Wordpress\/plugins\/emotions\/images\/wub.gif\" alt=\"emoticon\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You are invited to a KOOL date&#8230;.. to explore our Singapore&#8217;s latest downtown icon; the 1st reservoir in the heart of the city!&nbsp; <br \/>the magnificient MARINA BARRAGE!&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>This unique 3-in-1 provides: <br \/>1)&nbsp; Water supply &#8212; will increase our local water supply source, <br \/>2)&nbsp; Flood control &#8212; being a dam built across the Marina Channel to keep out seawater and&nbsp; <br \/>3)&nbsp; New Lifestyle attraction &#8212; ideal for all kinds of recreational activities; set to become an integrated watersports hub and <br \/>premier tourist attraction.<\/p>\n<p>A WALK THAT IS DIFFERENT !&nbsp; An opportunity to&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/silverhairsclub.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/Wysi-Wordpress\/plugins\/emotions\/images\/jittery.gif\" alt=\"emoticon\" \/><br \/>(i)&nbsp; &quot;Walk on Water&quot; by crossing the dam across the Marina Channel.<br \/>(ii) &quot;Stand on a Green Roof&quot;&nbsp; to view our city skyline with the sea as your backdrop; definitely, a view with a great difference!<br \/>(iii) &quot;Stroll in the park&quot;&nbsp; enjoy the fountains in the open central courtyard, watch kids running through the community water playground.<br \/>(iv)&nbsp; an intriguing gallery awaits&#8230;.. must try, must see&#8230;<br \/>(v)&nbsp; have a &quot;Picnic at the Barrage&quot;&nbsp; &#8230;.BYO picnic basket.&nbsp; Yes, it is allowed but NO Littering &amp; CLEAN UP! before you leave.<\/p>\n<p><strong><font color=\"#3300ff\">Date<\/font><\/strong>: Saturday, 14 February 2009&nbsp;&nbsp; (in case, you didnt get the date right &#8230;) haha<\/p>\n<p><strong><font color=\"#3300ff\">Leaders<\/font><\/strong> for this walk: ChristinaCL Chan &amp; Charles Chua<\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#3300ff\"><strong>Duration<\/strong><\/font>:&nbsp; less than 2hours; you may stay as long as you wish but, do catch the Last Bus out.<br \/>**Last Bus from Marina Barrage: 9.00pm<\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#cc0000\"><strong>Meeting Point &amp; Time<\/strong><\/font>: Entrance to Marina Barrage Main Lobby at 4.30pm sharp.<\/p>\n<p>Though the Barrage is completed; the area directly around it is still under heavy construction.&nbsp; I had recced this place 3x.&nbsp; There are <br \/>shady roads but I believe no one would want to walk along the dusty roads where trucks with sand, stones rumbled past&#8230;.<br \/>So, for the safety of all, take the MRT! <\/p>\n<p><strong><font color=\"#9900cc\">How to get there<\/font><\/strong>: <br \/><strong>MRT Station<\/strong>:&nbsp; Marina Bay,<strong> EXIT B<\/strong>, walk straight out, turn right to the Pick-up stop to board the Free shuttle bus service to Marina Barrage.<br \/>The shuttle is approx at 10 minute intervals, subject to traffic conditions.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p><strong>Those who drive<\/strong>:<br \/>from ECP Exit 17A;<br \/>from AYE Exit 18; <br \/>from Cross Street\/Central Boulevard; <br \/>from Maxwell Road\/Marina Boulevard(NTUC Centre); <\/p>\n<p>THEN travel on&#8230;. Marina Station Road\/Marina Place\/Marina Mall\/Marina Grove\/Marina way to Marina Barrage entrance\/carpark. Free parking.<\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#006600\"><strong><br \/>What to bring:<\/strong><\/font> <br \/>Your camera!<br \/>A shawl or something to keep you warm, might get chilly at sundown.<br \/>Sun visor or cap(hold on to it, lest it is blown away).&nbsp; There are shades but one might not get a good view.&nbsp;&nbsp; <br \/>Bring umbrellas, but hold on to it lest it is blown away!<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>NOTE:<\/u><\/strong><br \/>A cafe serves light snacks &amp; from Sundown it will be <font color=\"#3300ff\"><strong>a pub<\/strong><\/font> with &#8216;live&#8217; music &amp; serves finger food.&nbsp; <br \/>A restaurant serves ala carte dinner.<\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#ff3300\"><strong>REGISTER HERE. <\/strong><\/font><br \/>If you need clarification, drop me an email: &nbsp; chrischan5575@yahoo.com<\/p>\n<p>WHO ARE COMING: <\/p>\n<p>1.
