The idea was exciting when I was\u00a0working and in my prime. However, now that I am semi retired, I feel that\u00a0Sge is the best place to retire for Sge citizens.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">CPF<\/span> is making sure we have an adequate nest egg when we retire. For needy pioneers \u00a0the govt provides subsidies for this and that. And medical treatment \u2013 no one will be denied medical treatment for lack of money. This govt pledge is really heart-warming. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Our HDB flat is an <span style=\"color: #ff0000\">asset<\/span> that can be used to earn income should we need cash. Most of us have this asset. At present many elderly including retirees are financially independent and have strong purchasing power. As the country progresses with an aging population in mind, retirees can look forward to \u00a0a good\u00a0future &#8211; a <span style=\"color: #ff0000\">vibrant <\/span><\/strong><strong>retirement life.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Terence is retiring in Thailand and Abel is retiring in Indonesia. The \u2018push \u2018 factor for both men is strong &#8211; both have families in the foreign countries. \u00a0For me and my circle of friends, the pasture is <span style=\"color: #339966\">greener<\/span> at home!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080\"><em>\u00a0&#8211; A personal opinion.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I used to\u00a0wonder about retiring in a foreign country.
