SilverHairsClub has been very successful, in terms of membership and participation. I think SHC has been an excellent platform for SilverHairs to meet new friends; and obviously I like to see it continue many years into the future.<\/p>\n
SHC has many dedicated leaders and many supporters to the same objective. Take our walking leaders Christina, Charles and Jeffrey. Then, the never say die cycling EO Yew Kwong. Their events have been going on for years. Take Susan Chan, with her dedicatioin to bring in likeminded friends to SHC. Newer members like Sam Goh with SHC always on hs mind. Then, there is missing Dolly.<\/p>\n
Oh, there are many strong supporters in SHC. Dan, Ah Nee, Susan, Molly. JuneL, appearing only on TGIF. RonW, Dennis, JohnH. The quieter Ann, Sophia, Mary, …. As you can see the numbers keep stretching. SHC runs very much on its own, with EOs and ECs popping up everytime and anytime. We have been trying to get a Club Manager to keep the club vibrant. Yeap, a few names surfaced; but many felt the current system works well. A bit disorganised, not much of a system, but something which I too like. Very often, we try to be organised; altho I think some disorganisation is great for our minds. So, as you can see, SHC is just fantastic, and we should not let it slip.<\/p>\n
Some of you know I am planning to send my son, accompanied by my wife, to study in Perth next year. It will be a fact that I will have little time in Singapore. And of course, little if not no time for SHC. We therefore need to think of how to let SHC continue, without letting it slip. You will be surprised that there are more members than you know or have seen in SHC. Perhaps, they are shy, or waiting to join us some days in the activities. I will still continue to particpate, on a limited time. In fact, I have a time line of end Dec 2010.<\/p>\n
If you can do some thing for SHC, speak up. Tell us how you would be able to lead SHC to the next level. Let’s give ourselves early June 2010 to decide how we can proceed. The new leader or team will have full executive decisions over SilverHairsClub and SilverHairsClub.com.<\/p>\n
