Please share your thinking?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tim must be very jealous of my time; he thinks I am very free.&nbsp; However, this is not true; I am still working, travel alot, and still think I need to make that $1000 per month to meet my cost of retirement.&nbsp; I guess more than 90% of members are still working.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, I thought about what I need to do to retire.&nbsp; This coincides with an article I read in TODAY. Have you really thought out how to live your retirement days to the fullest?<\/p>\n<p>In the article, the writer is 61 yrs old.&nbsp; He saw his friends get so bored that they become a nuisance to their spouses and children.&nbsp; Some solved the problem by going back to work. The rest lived aimlessly or waiting to die, very sad.<\/p>\n<p>The writer advised 4 pre-conditions if one wants to enter into full retirement.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Children are financially independent<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>You have zero liabilities.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Have enough savings to support your lifestyle.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>And importantly, you know what you will be doing during your retirement.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>One option which many countries have adopted is to encourage continued working.&nbsp; Singaore is one of them.&nbsp; Personally, I feel very sad because we have already been working the last 30 &#8211; 35 years.&nbsp; Can we see more of the world, get to do things we have not&nbsp;done before, move into something different?<\/p>\n<p>I am&nbsp;trying to resist working fulltime.&nbsp; How?<\/p>\n<p><strong><font color=\"#000099\">This Post is not just about me.&nbsp; I know many of you are also in a similar boat.&nbsp; Let&#8217;s share and think aloud.&nbsp;&nbsp;Make a little effort to share your thoughts.<\/font><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Terence Seah&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tim must be very jealous of my time; he thinks I am very free.&nbsp; However, this is not true; I am still working, travel alot, and still think I need to make that $1000 per month to meet my cost of retirement.&nbsp; I guess more than 90% of members are still working.
