Each year, some of us may have difficulties getting our children to sit down for a reunion dinner or even to visit family members in the evening because it’s Valentine Day. They have their own itinery; so it’s only right they go out fort heir own dinners.<\/p>\n
I remembered for a couple of years, I was a similar problem to my parents. These old folks just didn’t know what’s Valentine Day. So, as the years passed, the event became more meaningful. We planned elaborate dinners, maybe with steak and wine. Then, we brought along the misletoe. The years continued to pass, and maybe we got married, or we just find another mate.<\/p>\n
For many of us still, Valentine Day is still meaningful. Our kids may give us roses, "Ma, I love you. Thank you for the many years, you looked after us." Once in a while, not every year though, I would sneak a few stalk of roses to that sweet young girl in my friend’s office. If she smiles back, that’s enough. Cannot take it too far. A little impulse is good. Why not, after all we are human. But, then, the brake should work.<\/p>\n
Coming to over 45, I guess we become wiser. We see our children or grand children enjoy their Valentine Day. We sent roses to everybody in the office. No discrimmination. We think about our spouses, and say, "Let’s go out for dinner". Maybe, gather a group of friends, with candle light below the table, have a couple of wine. <\/p>\n
Valentine Day is meaningful. Dont let the day pass without giving it some thought. Share with us, what are you doing for Valentine Day. It only comes once a year. Dont be shy.<\/p>\n
