The Mar monthly gathering, EO’d by Hew Lee was just over. \u00a0We have to plan for the next gathering. \u00a0I now like to switch quickly to the May gathering.<\/p>\n

The monthly gatherings are planned with the intention of meeting the Club’s objective. \u00a0It’s meant for you to find new friends and catch up with old friends. \u00a0It’s may get a bit boring if we stick all the while to Hans Cafe; but it has the benefit of space, flexibility and no requirement to commit to a fixed number of pax. \u00a0Retirees start coming in from 4pm, while those working start strolling in after 6.30pm. \u00a0And, the gathering is usually held on a weekday. \u00a0We are now trying a Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

Together with Jassmine Teo, who is in charge of the online Fleamart, I have thought of having the May monthly gathering to coincide with a small fleamart. \u00a0Am working out the details.<\/p>\n

  1. Venue: \u00a0The Good Morning Nanyang Cafe, opp Royal Park hotel, 20 Upper Pickering Street. \u00a0Right at Exit A of Clarke Quay MRT station.<\/li>\n
  2. Date: \u00a0Sat 4 May 2013; but not confirmed. \u00a0But, it will be a Saturday morning.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Time: \u00a00900 hrs to 1300 hrs.<\/li>\n
  4. Fleamart stalls: limited to 4. \u00a0Strictly for members only. \u00a0Fleamart tables: \u00a0Not sure what and how we can cost it. \u00a0Although I think it will be $10 \u00a0to $15 for a table space.<\/li>\n
  5. About the place: \u00a0I had a coffee set, but it does have chicken curry with rice, and non-complicated food. \u00a0There is an aircon area about the size of a bedroom, \u00a0an outside dining area, about the size of a bus and and outer open space area for something which we have not thought of. \u00a0Maybe able to play badminton, if we can get approval from the Hong Lim community centre.<\/li>\n
  6. After the gathering, you can go shopping. \u00a0Cylists, runners and walkists can also meet here.<\/li>\n
  7. About the crowds: \u00a0No idea really, I think few companies open on a Sat; but the air is fresh, and the place has open wide space.<\/li>\n
  8. How much do we charge? \u00a0No thoughts yet; although the owner has said he needs to prepare for the food and drinks. \u00a0Will let you know later. \u00a0It is likely to be less than $10 per pax, and $2 more for each family members and non-members.<\/li>\n
  9. Car Park: \u00a0There is a nice open air car park space beside the venue. \u00a0I think about 15 cars can park there. \u00a0Didnt think of CBC charges, although I encourage all to take the MRT as you just need to walk up.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    I am looking for an EO to raise his\/her hand to run this event. \u00a0You can find your own co-EO if you are comfortable about doing so. \u00a0We need to finalise the details with the owner, confirm the date and time, inform our members in the Club, set a cost, approve the fleamart holders and start a registration list. \u00a0EOs usually make a lot of friends.<\/p>\n

    This monthly gathering and fleamart event is strictly for participation by SHC members only. \u00a0The fleamart may be patronised by some members of the public. \u00a0As this place is open to the public, non-members and\/or members bringing their families and friends will be charged at $2 above member price.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    I look forward to you being among the early ones to register for the event. \u00a0Also, fleamart stall holders can register here, stating what you intend to sell, subject to approval by the EO.<\/p>\n
