Hi,

I am a new member. Have gone thro your website and found many interesting activities.

Currently working full time, staying in the east/ kembangan area and would like to network with silverhairs with similar  interests. 

Basically, I am easy going and there are a couple of thingy,  I would like to do and learn new activities, if there is anyone out there who is willing to teach.

1) cycling

2) MJ…… I see you have already started a ‘class’ ……… but me hor a total beginner, so got to be patient with me!

3) skating, if there is any?

I am a social tennis player for quite a no. of years, playing 2 to 3 times per week and also teach/do line dance.

Hope to meet up with you guys/gals in your monthly gatherin…… coming up 15 Oct 08?

    Welcome to the SHC!

    Oh yes, you just miss our cycling which was held last week. Don’t worry, this event is a monthly affair. The next time, I shall watch out for you.

    There will a a Monthly Gathering at Kovan CC. Post already out. Pls come to join us & you will be able to meet up a lot of nice pple during this session.

    Nice tat u wanna go cycling..but im not a good teacher,come join our next event..im sure there will always be somebody who will be glad to teach…RonaldWie boleh coach?…hehe

    Before I even meet up with you girls, I could feel you ladies are a wonderful bunch of happy go lucky folks.

    Monthly gatherin at Kovan on 15 Oct, I will try and come but dare not register lei, in case no show how, v paiseh. I have appt already unless last min cancelled, i will turn up and make my own name tag la… hehe

    Cycling…. wanna learn la, sure puak toh one! Maybe got to go up on a bicycle with balancing wheels…. hahah. Hopefully my schedule can fit into your next month lor.

  4. Hi Shirley, Welcome on board the SHC ship. I’m not a very active member but whenever I see a new member joining SHC, I can’t resist to usher them in with a warm welcome. I’m also from the Eastern side (Tanah Merah to be exact) and am sure will get to meet up with you one day. Am looking for a very early morning walk kaki along the river banks near my area so if you’re game, just give a holler. You can’t go wrong with Ron Wie as your coach for cycling, he’s a very patient guy & good teacher. Enjoy! Best regards, Lisa

    Welcome to the club. I’m a new member too. I’ve only attended two events so far. The most recent one was last night’s Social Dance Night – 25 Sept at AngMoKio Hub.

    If you were looking for a coach,then you will always find someone out here who’s willing to teach and guide you even if you are just a beginner learning how to balance on a bicycle. You will be surprised by the number of nice people we have here whom you’ll be pleased to meet and get acquainted with.

    As for MJ, don’t think there will ever be shortage of kakis in the MJ club. The response to the MJ thread started by Patrick Khoo was very good !

    Skating? Are you referring to rollerblading or ice skating? Never mind blade or skate, We have rollerbladers here and I reckon that rollerbladers would ice skate too. What you’ll need to worry though, is whether you have enough time to spare for all the activities that is instore for you in SHC :)

    I’m also a new member to SHC – just joined in July. Am also staying in the East – Amber Road. Have only attended their monthly gathering at Hans Cafe on Sep 9. Am glad to meet more members from the East, so can car pool to some events, if possible. Have signed up for SHC events on Sep 29, Oct 15 and 19. Hope to meet you at one of them.

    As for the MJ Club, haven’t started playing with SHC members yet………..still trying.

    Did try my hand at Tarot under tuition by Andrew Thio. Need more practice……still very blur.

    As for cycling at East Coast Park, you want kaki on Sunday evenings, can call me, if you don’t mind my daughter coming along too.

    Patrick Lee is right – SHC sometimes has so many interesting events (would like to attend most) – hiowever, cannot spare the time for all, especially if you are still working full time.

    Early morning walks will be tough for me as I work full time. I am sure we will meet up one of these days esp we are all Easterners. Now you know why my postings are alway late into the night………..night owl!

    Welcome welcome..hugs hugs..great..another linedancer..hope to meet up with you on Oct 15 at Kovan (monthly gathering)..I also do linedancing as well as social dances…hope we can dances and jam together pretty soon..

    Ronald Wei a angmo??..that’s interesting..u wanna know the answer..come and find out yourself..seeing is believing..no point telling you over at site..haha..anyway..he is rather nice and patient guy..guess we..yes..we..gonna cycle within 1 hour under his coaching for cycling..haha..right Ronald..that’s what you promised?

    Welcome to SHC. You will find lots of activities to suit you. Ronald Wie is definitely a Chinese. But there are 2 others in SHC with your surname, Dennis Wee and Charles Wee.

    This is Kathryn. I joined SHC in June 2008. SKATING? A BIG YES!!

    I rollerblade at ECP and ice-skate at Fuji Ice Palace (Jurong) – but this rink is closing mid October. The new one is at Kallang. Have been looking for ice skating kakis (if your “skating” means ice skating) There are a few other members in SHC who rollerblade too. I am sure you will hear from them soon.

    I blade too but so far havent done it with SHC. I sometimes do it for exercise @ Bishan Park but only when the ground is dry (had a bad fall once when ground was wet & am now scared to blade when it’s wet)

    Kathryn: ooops sorry la, i mean roller blading not skating. Now just started on cycling, lesson 1 under Ron Wie.

    Truly, there are so many activities to pick up from fellows SHC members who are willing to teach newbie…….surprise at my age, i am game to learn from scratch……….. cycling, mj, roller blade and curios to noe this ‘chor tai tee’!!!
