Betty Ho – Profile

Hello to ALL, I’m Betty. Got to know this club through my friend Norhayati. She became a member last week and persuaded me to join as well. And I told myself, "Why not?" since most of the activities are those that I enjoy doing too.  I love travelling, eating, learning new skills, helping others and occasionally do some shooting (archery).  My outdoor activities are limited by my physical impairment. You see I was one of the victim of the polio epidemic in Singapore during 50/60.

Still, I am a cheerful person who love to meet and make new friends and I think SilverHairsClub is the place.

  1. Hi Betty

Do you live in the Eastern part of Singapore and which range you practise archery?

Hope you would start the Archery Fellowship.

    Cheers,

  2. Hi to All,

Wow I feel so good, thanks to all of you for your warm mails. Great to know we have a common outdoor activity ie shooting. We can share more about it in the next meeting as I am not able to join you all tonight.
Thank to Nur for introducing me to the club, a chance to know all of you.

  3. Hahaha Caroline,

If it is not your own ball, the fingers get stuck and the ball drags you along with it. But it has never happened to me, lah.

  4. Haha Lina

    Thanks for the encouragement.

You are right. When I went for bowling the first time, I swung my ball and it dropped at the back of me and went rolling away. So malu lor.

  5. Hi Caroline,

That is not bad actually, aim right and arrow goes left. It is worst if the arrow shoots backwards or drops onto the ground. he..hee.

Look forward to seeing both of you on Thursday, Betty and Nur.

  6. Welcome to the club. Glad that Nur “tarek” you to join us.

Wow you are into archery. My nephew does that and its tough. I cannot do it because if the target is on the right, I will automatically shoot to the left hehehe! Just kidding :)

Hope to meet you at SHC activities.

    Cheers

    Caroline Gee

  7. Dear Betty

In Dec 2002, our then PM Goh opened Singapore first air-cond PA archery club at the Pasir Ris East CC. Was among the first few batches learning there!

Brought my 45 Finance staff there and had “a hand” in archery in March 2004 during our quarterly “SMILE” program.

Where do you have your usual archery lessons/practices? I might rekindle this love again.

    SAFRA-Tampines has one archery club/range.

If you are living in the East, can consider starting The Archery Fellowship too.

    Warmest regards

  8. Hi again Betty,
No doubt your outdoor activities may be limited, but you can always contribute your comments on any of the posts.
Can I ask where you practise your archery?

  9. Hi Betty, Welcome.
Archery? I used to love that when they had that “Funshoot” places at Marina and Orchard Point. I also enjoyed their airguns. Do you shoot too?
Will you be at the SHC meeting tomorrow? Hope to meet you. Then we can chat about archery and airguns. :-)
