  1. Hi Terence,

Would like to join but first of all, I have to let u know that I can only be available in the evening. Will it be too late.

You mentioned not so late evening, may not be able to make it.

  2. Hi Terence,

    …SHC gathering ,

Time:- late afternoon to not so late evening.

    Can you pls.be more specific is it from( 4pm to 7pm ) or ( 3pm to 8pm ) ????

  3. Hi Steven,

Sorry about this. At the moment, the date is fixed. Sounds odd.

Let’s have some time to review the venue in the next few weeks. Do you have a venue suggestion?

    Terence Seah

  4. Hi Terence,

The Kopitiam @ Central is quiet during the afternoons week days and the tall glass panels overlooking the busy activities of the Clark Quay riverside. NOT even a sign to point to the shoppers that a Kopitiam food court exists on 4th floor.

  5. Hi Steven,

I must be a nut. Went to Boat Quay today to do some recce, and ask around. No one knows where the Kopitiam is located. Finally, settled down for lunch at Harrys.

I think someone did ask. Has anyone been there, and can give an assessment of event scenario.
What about Sunday morning when half the world is still asleep?

    Terence Seah

  6. Hi Terence.

The Kopitiam is located on the 3rd storey of Central Mall. It is at the Clarke Quay MRT station. It is very quiet and in fact there is hardly any sign indicating the food court upstairs. The food court is very quiet and gives a good view of Clarke Quay across the river.

    Cheers,
    Andrew KOH

  7. Hi Terence – Its actually near Hans too, about 5-10 mins walk away! Would be good to give it a try for June gathering…http://www.yebber.com/review/my-dining-room-kopitiam-the-central/

Hi Steven – Is this Kopitiam place big enough? I have not been there, but will lunch there soon as it is nearby my working place.

Another future possible place, say for August, could be Marina Square foodcourt…Very large area, with some outdoor seatings available also; though the evenings may tend to get crowded.

  8. Hi Terence,

    …..Hi Steven,
I must be a nut. Went to Boat Quay today to do some recce, and ask around. No one knows where the Kopitiam is located. Finally, settled down for lunch at Harrys.

Terence, you are NOT a nut but the KopiTiam Management is. Thinking that their “how liang” Kopitiam is mushrooming all over spore, they expect customers like us to find out.

    Stupid!
Can’t they post a sign below to mention that there is a FOOD COURT at level #3 or #4? Is it too difficult or just sheer laziness ?

Even when you are at Level 3, the Kopitiam is hidden in a corner. And when you approach at a short distance, you see a Japanese food stall with red lanterns and ONLY after passing this Japanese stall you will see the Kopitiam sign hung HIGH up. No problem for the giraffe to spot but not sure for others.

This KOPITIAM is worth visiting despite its mysterious location.

It has a PLUS factor, with the tall glass panels, you can see the dining and beautiful colourful activities at ” Wonderland Clark Quay ” by night.

At least in this Kopitiam, the doors are NOT close and so the LOUD NOISES made by non-stop chit chatting SHCians during our monthly gathering can travel outwards to the Shopping Centre. This will reduce the noise considerably.

We still can have 2 sessions (i)3pm and 6pm like what we did @ Hans. For those at 3 pm and who would like to see the BEAUTIFUL night scene at Clark Quay, you can have yr self grp dinner here too.

Btw, Terence, …Went to Boat Quay today to do some recce, and ask around.

Clark Quay is NOT Boat Quay. No wonder you can’t find it.

The Kopitiam is at Central Shopping Centre at Eu Tong Sen street directly above Clark Quay MRT stn.

Boat Quay is at UOB, Raffles Place where you see Botello’s GIANT Obese-shaped BIRD bronze statue and the tall Newton Man statue in front of UOB.

    HAPPY RECEEing!

  9. Hi All

I believe we have another gd location but yet undiscovered by the many, especially Terence who hv been living in tat part 4 so….long.

There is an open area outside Kovan Paya Lebar CC wif a mini amphitheatre setting, lots of tables n chairs n best of all, a small cafe tat serves tasty fd n beverages at reasonable rates. M sure tat those who hd attended the Dance n Karaoke nite ydy wld readily agree. Rite?

Tis plc can hold capacity crowd of >100 comfortably be they sitting, standing, squatting, lying down wif legs spread out or waiting 4 somebody 2 sit on them. No matter wat position, u will still feel comfortable n best of all, make as much noise as u can. Wen nite falls, u can gaze at the stars n moon. Wif a few btls of alcohol, u can stay till morn chit chatting thru the nite till dawn 2 watch the sun rises.

  10. Hi Yew Kwong,

I shall call you next week, to decide on a date. will be back next Tuesday. Great idea.

We have now three possibilities for events from now to end of the year. KopiTiam at Clark Quay, Kovan amphitheatre and Merlion at river-mouth.

    Terence Seah

  11. Terence Terence, see if I can solve your problem & headache. Last night, 21 SHCians attended the social night, organised by the Paya Lebar Kovan CC. The social night was very enjoyable, especially with all the crazy bunch of us. Instead of dancing, some of us adjourned to the open space outside the dancing hall to have a beer drinking session. I find this open space mentioned by Yew Kwong is very suitable for our monthly gathering. I checked with the person-in-charge, and was told that this place can accommodate 100 plus plus people. So it is not a problem for numbers, further more they have plenty of chairs & tables and can make a lot of noise if you want to. Not sure if you have seen this place the last time you meet up with Michael Tan. Another plus point is….very very near MRT station lor.

    Ah Nee

  12. Hi Ah Nee, Yew Kwong,

Yes, I have seen the place. It’s convenient, flexible, cool and definitely meet our requirements. More heads better than one. You can be sure we will use this place, and very soon too. Let me also look for some space in my diary too.

I also want to make you jealous. Am now at “Don Hoy Lod” a seaside resort, with sea cockles to pick, and wade in ankle high mud. Looking for mud skippers and mangrove roots. One day, I shall bring you there, for seafood and 100 kmph winds. Hmm.

    Terence Seah

  13. Hi Terence

That place might be good for your Hokkien sing-along too.

Terence, where is “Don Hoy Lod” ? a remote island? or a seaside resort in Bkk? Why are you looking for mud skippers and mangrove roots ? when you can enjoy a dip in the pool or something? Be careful, dont be blown away by the strong wind ya.

  14. Hi Ah Nee,

You forgot to say that at Kovan Amphitheatre a jug of beer costs $18/-. The manager said that we can get a meal for $6/- which includes soup, spaghetti and a drink. So the prices are very reasonable and there is no service charge. There is a pool table too. Weekdays, it closes at 10.30pm, weekends (Fri and Sat) there is a singer and it closes at 12 midnight. In case, you still don’t want to go home after that, there is a McDolanld’s opposite. Hahaha.

  15. Hi Terence,

I support Ah Nee’s, Lina’s & Yew Kwang’s suggestion 2 hold our monthly gathering at dis new found place. I was there and oso, i met my former school mate, Malcolm Chen who is oso a SHC member. We had couple of beer 2geder wif Molly and some SHC ladies and we played a few games of pool. Sound interesting, rite?

    Cheers
    Dennis W

  16. Dennis Dennis, last night, 2 new members join us for the 1st time, Malcolm Chen & Irene Foo. What a night of happy reunion…..Malcolm & you are school mate, Irene & Susan Chang are school mate too. Rene was saying how nice and happy to meet a long lost school mate in SHC gathering. She wishes one day, she too will meet her school mate. May her wishes come true one of this day…….

    Ah Nee

  17. Thank you, Nee…

Hope I don’t have to wait till my hairs turn Silver. hehe!

Ya, we really had a good time drinking, chatting and imagining ourselves in a “SHC old folks Home.” Haven’t been laughing for a long long time. Good exercise for my jaw.

    Good place and ambience.

  18. hello shc

look fwd 2 jul 16 mthly meetg……z proposed venues abv sounds good……if i com acx anythg suitable will input……. c ya !!

  19. Afternoon Terence,
Can’t agree more with YK’s choice of this unique venue – great ambience for a Cafe*Bistro*Restaurant-WHITE TANGERINE CAFE.
Wellit’s near MRT/bus interchange, ample carparks, alright! Yummy yummy food at reasonable prices, beers.
Comes with live performance by local amateur singers, music and best of all, like Lina pointed out- a Pool table, just what we need for a relaxing time while we get to know one another, at the same time, excellent ways for new members to mingle with everyone as well. Sounds good for July SHC gathering. regards BoonLiang

  20. Terence and every one reading this,
I have noted the date in my planner.
My only concern is how to get to this place at Kovan. I’m in Pasir Ris and in order to get there by train, I have to take the E-W line for 16 stations to Outram Park, then change to the N-E line to travel another 10 stations back up north to Kovan.
Can anybody tell me how I can get there another way? Of couse the best way is if I got a lift, hehe.

  21. Hi Mary Chan @22,

    Why the fuss about transport?

    i) Consider yourself LUCKY(staying at Pasir Ris).
At Pasir Ris MRT stn,you are able to SIT all the way to Outram Park stn.

We at Clementi Stn,have to STAND all the way to Outram Stn.If we wanted to sit, we had to take the train up to Jurong East Stn from Clementi and then travel downwards back to Clementi –> Outram.

My suggestion for you(i)Enjoy reading a book on
“Tim in Wonderland” and by the time you finish 8 pages, you are at Outram stn. or

(ii) Wait patiently for Prince Tim Charming to escort you in his Royal Golden Coach complete with a chaffeur and a dozen horses. With so many horsepower, you will NEVER be late for the meeting.

(iii)Wait for Prince Sinbad to fly you to Kovan MRT on his magic carpet. ha! ha! ha!

With so many suggestions, you are spoilt for choice.

  22. Steven,
I wasn’t ‘making a fuss’. I was asking for someone to tell me an alternative way of getting there.

If you have nothing constructive to say, I suggest you keep your opinion and your asinine suggestions to yourself.

Don’t tell me you are taking over the job of master baiter now that the other one is no longer around to do so?

  23. Boon Liang,
What bus interchange is that and do you know the buses that go to that interchange? Would appreciate your help.
    Thanks

  24. Hi Ah Nee, Yew Kwong,

I am unable to be back this week. If you happen to be at Kovan, can I ask you to check with the owner of the cafe, if he can manage 50 people for Wed, 16 July 2008, 5pm to 9.30pm.

    Terence Seah

  25. Dolly, thanks. I think I know where it is now although I’m not sure where this ‘amphitheatre’ exactly is. Will have to find out more.

  26. Hi Terence,

If its confirm using this place, tomorrow evening on my way home, I can talk to Derrick Teo, the cafe manager. He told us last Friday that 100 pax or more is not a problem. I will tentatively block for Wed, 16 July 2008, 5.00pm to 9.30pm. Will that be ok?

    Ah Nee

  27. Ah Nee,

Very nice of you to contact the venue, on your home, as long as you don’t get distracted and go somewhere else. Take this as confirmed. Thank you.

    Terence Seah

  28. Hi Mary C

Yes RonK is right. Bus #81 will bring u 2 Kovan Mrt Stn.
U will c heartland Mall, climb the steps and walk straight, u will c Kovan Paya Lebar CC. It takes abt 5 mins walk. If the venue is confirmed, I can bring you there afterall we live in the same area

    Cheers, Dennis W

  29. Dennis Wee, thank you for offering to bring me there, but it depends on what time you will be going. I will go for the earlier session as I have to teach at 5 pm, so will have to leave around 4.15.
This time round, cannot be ‘mak kaypo’. Someone else will have to do it. ;-)

  30. Terence – please keep me posted in the final choice of place, and time. Nowhere is too far for me, iff I m free..
Btw…is Mr Dennis Wee that gentleman who often appears in the ST classified page (property section)???

    Regards

  31. Daniel

Dennis Wee is not that property gentleman, not the menace and not the brother of Charles Wee the walker, but the teacher’s pet. He makes beautiful Chinese New Year fans with swinging tassels.

    Joy

  32. Yew Kwong @ #10 – Your description of this “hangout” is very inviting. Must come!

Hi Terence – I am in for the gathering, if this venue is confirmed.

  33. Mary C : Let’s wait for the venue to be confirmed and then we can talk, ok?

Daniel : Joy has answered your question. Pls ignore the teacher’s pet.

Joy : Thanks but no teacher’s pet lah.

    Cheera
    Dennis W

  34. Mary Chan@#25 – It’s location, Blk 207 Hougang Street 21, Paya Lebar Kovan CC. opp the former bus interchange (now a car park infront of KOVAN Hub-Blk 206) beside the food center.
Nearest MRT – Kovan Stn (NEL) exit facing HEARTLAND MALL. Buses is along Upp Serangoon Road or Hougang St21. Well, we shall have more details once this proposed venue is accepted. Cheers BL

  35. Boon Liang, thanks for your help too. With so many people giving me directions, I better make sure I find my way there, hehe.

Thanks again, all you kind people. :-)

  36. Terence,

Venue for next month gathering has been confirmed. I told the “White Tangerine Cafe” manager, Derick Teo that SHCians will start coming from 4.00 pm onwards. Oh ya, Terence, don’t forget to call Michael Tan to join us. He told me he is also SHC member. Shall I write an email to inform him?

Yew Kwong, Boon Liang & Dennis, thanks for the directions, you know this place so well, better than me..ha…ha..ha..

    Ah Nee

  37. Terence,
from what Ah Nee said at #45, I guess I won’t be attending as I will have to leave by about 4.15 pm for my class. It’s disappointing, especially after all the help I got in the directions to the place.

  38. Hi Ah Nee,

Thank you for establishing the contact and confirming the venue. Yes, place and date and time now confirmed. We will tidy up the details soon.

And Michael Tan is a SHC member. Please do write him an email to inform him.

Very impressive, with SHC co-operation, we sure are a quicky mover.

    Terence Seah

  39. Dear SHCians,

Further to Boon Liang’s clear direction to the Paya Lebar Kovan CC, I would like to add on this info for SHCians who are taking the MRT train. After Exit C (Heartland Mall), just walk straight towards the direction of the Hawker centre, don’t turn huh…..just walk straight and you will pass by MacDonald, the CC is just opposite.

    Ah Nee

  40. MaryChan@22 – Beside alighting at Outram stn, DhobyGhaut is the other stn you can transfer to NEL Kovan…which brings me to #46 – no disappointment here..the night is still young, we’ll all be there till late. SOme of us finish work by 6pm will still be at the gathering, so see you hur?

  41. Boon Liang, I finish teaching at 8.30pm. By the time I get to where you people are, it will probably be 9.30pm as I will be at Katong Mall. I don’t think I’ll find anyone there after 9.30pm.
I hope Terence doesn’t stick to Wednesdays for future SHC meetings as I teach every Wednesday from 5pm to 8.30pm. I will be disappointed if I can’t attend any more. :-(

  42. Hi Terence,

Count me in this gathering. So near to home must not miss it. Hope to meet all the “Hougangers”.

Grace Wong if you are attending this gathering would appreciate if you could make one of your signature name tag for me. Many thanks.

    Melissa Khng

  58. Hi Oi Cheng,

We try to design the monthly gatherings with some flexibility. So, we always love to have every one come for this event. No dancing, but to meet everybody else.

    Terence Seah

  59. Terence, I don’t mean dancing at monthly meeting. I just can’t decide which to go to. On one hand, I wish to meet up with all my friends, on the other, I hate to “ponteng” class, especially for the first lesson.
I shall see where the tug is on that day.

  60. Hi Terence

I’m coming to the 16/7 gathering at 4p.m. Will be bringing some interesting puzzles (brain teasers) to entertain those present about 5p.m. if the general mood is conducive. Am looking forward to meeting other members.

Pls. refer post on Vietnam comment 120 No:3,
I did not say “stupid”. Nanti awak kena sue balek.Ha! Ha!
I jadi “cool” macham cold cucumber.

Someone else did. Ai yo yo ! Lu Mata ada problem kah ???
Mesti pakai lagi tebal reading glasses atau pergi “lasik” Hee! Hee! Jangan naik darah kak, OK ?

  63. Hi..all, as promised I recce the place yesterday (eat full very free mah). My first time getting out from KOVAN station. When you are at the ground level, make sure you are on the HDB heartland side and NOT the private condo and terrace houses side. Upper Serangoon road separates this two distinct housing types. EXIT C will bring you nearer to the CC, but you can easily get lost admist the HDB flats. Aim for a long long food centre. When you walk to the other end of the food centre, you see a nice building across a street (Hougang St 21). This so called “poor man club” actually looks more posh than many country clubs.

Within the CC compound, there is an open-air canteen or something like that. DOING NOTHING but just chatting and sipping coffee on a lazy afternoon is an enjoyment.

We can adjourn to the long long food centre for makan. Probably we will spend more time choosing the food than eating it.

    SEE U !

  64. Terence,

I would like to register for this meeting as this is a completely new venue.

Thanks for the reminder, Susan Chan! See you there!

  65. Hi everybody coming to this July monthly gathering.

Ah Nee has helped us to organise the venue at Kovan. I guess we will have about 40 people coming this open space. Feel comfortable to make your own private arrangements.

For this event, Ah Nee has accepted being our Event Organiser. Thank you for all the planning.

And, for registration, we will continue to have Grace Wong and Janet Ng. Do remember to bring your name tag too.

On behalf of Ah Nee, Grace and Janet, I look forward to seeing everybody.

    Terence Seah

  66. Absolutely correct. Daniel Chan’s direction to the monthly gathering venue is very clear. For those who are coming by MRT…Exit A is to Kovan Melody & Exit C is to Heartland Mall. Remember to exit C(Heartland Mall), walk straight towards the direction of the Hawker centre, don’t turn huh…..just walk straight and you will pass by MacDonald. The CC is just opposite. For those who are driving, you can actually park at Kovan Hub, beside the Hawker centre or free parking at the back of the CC. For free parking, you have to enter Charlton park (private housing estate) along upper serangoon road. Just park along aroozoo avenue or Surin avenue (pls refer to street directory), make sure you don’t park on the road that have drawn a long straight white line, otherwise can get summon hor. Hello Daniel, agreed with you leh this “poor man club” actually looks more posh than many country clubs. :)

    Ah Nee

  67. Ah Nee, at the last gathering, I owe you a coffee. Would you like some Kahlua, which I had promised, but did not keep my word. Worse, I finish it on the same night.

Anybody else like some Kahlua? This time, I shall bring it along for sure.

    Terence Seah

  68. Terence, I would like some Kahlua but I won’t be able to make it to the meeting. I finish work at 8pm.
Even if I rushed, it will all be over at 930 pm. The place closes so early meh?

  69. Mary,

The CC don’t close so early lah, the last time a group of us were there till midnight. We are not going for courses at the CC, we are having gathering at the White Tangerine Cafe which is infront of the CC. So you still can make it lor.

    Terence,
I don’t drink coffee and anything that’s coffee flavoured liqueur. Molly said she will bring snacks for our drinking session, perhaps we can have beer also, 1 jug of beer cost only $18 if I remembered correctly. Cheers!

    Ah Nee

  70. Ah Nee,
In that case, I will zoom there in a cab. Hope to make it by 9pm and catch some people there.

So Terence, do I have to bring my own plastic cup? I threw the previous one away already.

  71. Hi Ah Nee,

I remember the place closes at 10.30pm on weekdays and 12am on Fridays and Saturdays. Yes, and beer is at $18/- a jug, no service charge. And as for the Kahlua, I can drink it for you. Ha ha

  72. Hi EO Terence & Ah Nee

Please register Dolly & me for this gathering. I will be there after 8pm. Dolly will be there earlier. Thanks

  73. Lina and all attending the monthly gathering,

Tomorrow, while we are there at Paya Lebar Kovan CC for the Waltz lesson, I shall ask the Cafe manager to extend the operation hour to later time if possible. How about that….

    Ah Nee

  74. Hi Ah Nee,

You very ‘tua liap’. I think Mary C will appreciate it very much as she is coming quite late. The Cafe Manager, Derrick might ask you to pay the staff overtime. Ha ha.

  75. Wow, didn’t realise that this Post for this July gathering is way far back. Glad many of you have started to initiate new events and activities.

For those who have not shared with us your hobbies and interests, please do take some time to write it out. Have fun.

    Terence Seah

  76. Hi Terence n Ah Nee,
I will bring my Taboo n Backgammon games. Those who can play Backgammon can enlighten me.Ive got the set sitting in my cupboard for yrs.but dont know how to play it.Taboo is a language game using succint phrases n sentences in describing the Guess Word without mentioning the Taboo Words! Its a fun game .Do you think it will be too rowdy .Dont want to get complaints from management again like the last time at Hans.
    gracew

  77. Ah Nee,

I will bring my chess sets! Terence, don’t forget the Kahlua and the Old Bailey liqueur. Do they serve beer.

T feel like playing drunken chess, anyone want to take me on? I can afford to give handicap too!

    Danz

  78. Hi Dan #120,

I gave up beer for two months, following your advice. But, will be prepared to have a game of drunken chess with you.

Shall bring the Kahlua and the Bailey.

    Terence Seah

  79. Hi Terence,

I will be there around 4.30 pm for the 16 Jul gathering.
I am interested in digital photography – do you have a photography interest group ?

Thanks, and have a great weekend.

  80. Terence & all coming for the monthly gathering,

I will bring roasted peanuts, cashew nuts, mixed nuts, groundnuts….ha.ha.ha…all kind of nuts for the forthcoming drinking session cum monthly gathering. Molly will bring fish keropok, prawn keropok, vege keropok….many kind of “keropok” for this event too. Beside Danz’s chess set, can play Boardgame also, anyone?

Oh yah…Terence, Lily & Dolly have said earlier at #106 that they are coming. :)

    Ah Nee

  81. Hi Ah Nee,

Guess, besides the Kahlua bottle which I will bring along, plus the Baileys, belonging to Danz, I hope to meet up with the guys and gals, who would like to discuss Blue Helmet projects. Am also keen to meet the guys to chat about the next Men’s night.

    Have fun.

    Terence Seah

  82. (7/7/08) Hi Terence

Tried to call u a short while ago.. I hv been a SHC for more than six months but hv never attended any of yr activities. Do I just join/mingle in upon knowing the date and time of your get-together session eg 16 July 2008 at Kovan from 4.30pm to 9.30pm? Pls assist. Thanks. Cheers

  83. Hi Eve,

Feel comfortable coming in and join the group. Just come in and look for Ah Nee, Grace, Janet or myself. We and the rest of us would be most pleased to introduce you to the rest of the group.

It would be nice if you write a profile of yourself, so that others know a little bit more about yourself, when you come to the monthly gathering. Pick up the courage so that you can meet new friends.

    Terence Seah

  84. Hi Terence,
Harry Lim is unable to log in to the website. Therefore im registering on behalf for him..He will be attending the 4pm

I am targeting an ETA(estimated time of arrival) at 1600hrs and not later than 1700hrs. “Seeya”(see you-slang)

  87. Hi Patrick the ‘bodyguard’,

It should be “cya” or “cu” lah. Alamak, lik dat how to be cool? Dat one already so passe.

    peace bro n cya.

Hi Terence, Am I too late for registering? If not can you please register me?

    Cheers

  88. Event Organiser Ah Nee and myself welcome you to the July monthly gathering at Kovan. Remember, this time, venue is not Hans Cafe.

If you are looking for certain interest groups, do say something here, and we will help you, for example Daniel Chan and Dan Huang looking for Chinese and English Chess kakis respectively. Grace Wong brings her Backgammon set.

Dont forget to look out for Grace Wong and Janet Ng, as they are managing our registration desks. Do bring your name tags too, if you have not dropped it in the pool.

A quiet bottle of Kahlua from me and Baileys from Dan Huang will be available in the bushes. Bring your own cup or spoon. I suspect they taste nice added to your coffee while hot.

I have given up drinking beer, because my son has instructed me so. Almost 2 months now. But for drinkers, do share a jug, it costs $18 (I think).

This place is a Hougang area. So, will the Hougangers identify yourself.

So, see you guys and gals. For those working, it will be fun to get here, after work. Be comfortable. And to those who are brand new member, pick a name from the list of attendees, we sure love to meet you. Not too late to say you are coming.

    Ah Nee/Terence Seah

  89. Dear Terence and members

    Cheers!
    Sue

  103. In the listed names, at 35, it reads : Jassmine Teo – coming with some puzzles, at 4pm”

Well, Jass, it’s a load to carry if you go with some puzzles when 1 will do……….a puzzled look that’s natural & without make-up, and effortless to carry.

Hope to catch up with you guays tomorrow nite……………..

  104. Hi Tim @# 180, and all other attendees,

Quiz qn: Who can look puzzled ‘that’s natural and without make-up’? The ‘correct’ answer gets a prize! Give your answer at 2mro’s gathering, before 6.30p.m.

My puzzles tease the brain and comprise a few pieces of paper and some match-sticks – fun and challenging (if only I say so. lol)

    cheers,
    Jassmine

  105. Hi Grace and Janet,

Kindly register Susan Tan and me for tomorrow’s gathering.
Sorry to slot in at this late hour.
We’ll be there after work in the evening, around 7pm.
Hope most ppl are still around.

    james tan

  106. Arrrrgh!!

I have to forgo attending this meeting!

So many things to do and so little time:
Have just got back from Phuket last week; would love to post a travel report “A little bit of heaven without paying the earth” but too shagged to do it yet.

Had a minor accident and have just sent my car in for repair. Anyone getting into a car accident nowadays would face a whole host of procedures… report within 24 hours, getting the insurance assessor to verify the repair work necessary, waiting for the parts, getting back to the workshop…

A big do and busy week ahead with my clan “Tan Tock Seng” relatives. A sudden decision to go to Malacca early next week.

Going to miss the meeting tonight and also the August meeting… dreadful! Have a great time, you guys!

  107. Hi Kenneth,

When you have some time, write about your Phuket adventure. I am thinking of going their during the vegetarian month in Oct.

Good to keep your juice flowing.

    Terence Seah

  108. Hmm, some of you are not coming to the monthly gathering tonight. Whatever you are doing, have fun. SMS me if there is anything exciting.

    Terence Seah

  109. Kenneth, why let your damaged car stress you? Nobody likes an accident but if it has happened, do give it a happy ending.

Since your car is damaged by that guy, tell him to damage it more so that it becomes a total wreck, what underwriters call a total loss. Then walk up to yr insurer and show him how mangled yr car is. Yr cheque for a replacement car will be out a week later.

No stress. No sweat. A new car. A new registration number which you can rest yr hopes on 3 days a week.

Now, you’re smiling like the first you fell in love time……………………and it’s still not too late to trace that guy who damaged yr car.
