Haiku, anybody?

About the previous post …

Once a year we meet
Not too much we ask from you
Hope to see you soon

Friendship is what we after
In this Christmas Walk we come
Hope one will last forever

Event needs no cash
Only find and pay with time
As simple as that

If I have more than five interested in haiku poems, I can start a chat line to share. This chat line has rules to keep focus – no video uploads and unnecessary “alarm” postings just to circulate around the world and coming back to you time and again.

NB: Haiku is a type of poetry that can be written on many themes, from love to nature to life experiences.

Resources can be found from the Internet and the library.
We can share our findings and at the same time exercise our brains besides playing mahjong or sudoku.

  1. Masterpiece haiku from Matsuo Basho
    An old silent pond…
A frog jumps into the pond,
    Splash! Silence again.

Haikus can be very difficult to write (there are strict rules ) or very easy (rules are broken!) The haikus that are challenging to write are really good exercise for the brain. Please include me in the chat line. Tks.

  2. Hi Hew Lee

  3. Hi Hew Lee

Thanks for initiating this project on Haiku poems. It’s been a month and a half since you started this chatgroup and I’ve learnt to write something. It’s really fun. I would like to share some of my haiku poems here, albeit without the picture. But one can imagine and create your own pic based on my poem.

    “Dark clouds loom above
    Storm brewing and pouring soon
    Gloomily wet day”

    “Cold and crisp morning air
    Smell of Christmas holidays
    Nostalgic Joy Hope”

    ” All active Agers
    Silverhairs Club awaiting
    Loneliness no more”

    “Little by little
The sun peeps smiles and rises
    New day, new life, hope”

    “Butteflies at work
    Collecting nectar – flowers
    Beauty to behold”

    “Lovely butterflies
Here there up up up and down
    Awesome Beautiful”

    “I miss the days when
All it takes was my teddy
    To make me happy”

    “Footprints in the sand
    Sunshine, lapping waves, blue sky
    Love Peace Happiness”

    “White replaced black clouds
Fresh blue sky giving new hopes
    Peace filled blessed hearts”

    “Rainbow amidst
    Dark clouds, black murky waters
    A ray of HOPE”

    And many more……….

Really kept my mind a-thinking…. good for the brain!

    Cheers
