Hello SHCians,

The August monthly gathering is confirmed to be scheduled as follow:

  • Date : 20 August 2009 (Thursday)

  • Time : 5.00pm to 9.00pm

    Venue : Hans Cafe at Upper Pickering Street, Great Eastern Building

  • Entrance: Free. F&B available at the counter.

  • Agenda: 1) Getting to know new and old members    2) Board Games 3) Trivia Pursuit/Quiz Game

    The Game consists of 10 pictures for participants to solve/answer. Each Team consists of 2 players. Maximum 8 teams to play at 1 go. Best 2 teams will win prizes! 

  • Event Organiser: Ms. Frisna Tan (so come to support hor, 1st time leh)

    Just joined as a new member. Would like to attend this gathering but not sure if I would be on time. Normally can knock off from work around 7.30 pm and by the time I make it to Hans, it will be 8 pm.

    Would love to come and give you my support but unfortunately Thursdays are no good for me. Had already postponed 2 classes a couple of weeks ago and if I do this too often I might get permanently ‘postponed’ by my students kekekekek.

    I will be coming.. keen to see if the “laughter club” can kick off… we hit a slight “bump” at the first meeting.. hey..hey… calling all interested parties, come prepared with some jokes for the “laughter corner”… DongJuan Patrick will initiate the proceedings, since the shephardess has been reported “missing”… (joking)

  76. Three cheers for Frisna Tan for a successful SHC gathering of the evening. Women power have arrived. A newbie initiating a monthly gathering. Turning it into a fish market. Hahaha! But no one is complaining. Well done Frisna,
    a newbie put to the chopping board, emerged unscathed!!

    The after effects of the evening, left me still fully charged up. As usual, a livewire in me exploded, and the place reverberated with joy and laughter. Everyone is happy.

    As the ‘music’ played, the grand entrance of Tim and Marilyn
    hand in hand, stopped everyone in the action, to steal a peek at a pair of lovebirds ‘walking down the isle.’ And is borned ” the sweetest joy, the wildest woe is love.”

    Another successful gathering, with Ah Huat surrounded by a horde of beauties, as Empress Dowager is in China, hahahaaa.
    Sam…Huat you the can man! I the reporting from SHC News at Hans. Weather forecast: strong winds ahead blowing from Hainan island. May turn into a tsunami! Take cover.

    Its abt 4.30am now, time to meditate. Good morning.

    Thanks for coming to last night meeting. Although it’s 1st time for me as an Event Organiser, i didn’t have the ‘stage fright’ as all of you are so friendly n helpful!

    I’d like to thank my assistants: Lilian Teo, Peggy Kong, Mary Chan, Pearl Goh & Lena Ho for the registration & game. I’d also like to thank my biggest admirer Mr.Don Juan for saying he never attended any monthly meeting except mine! It made me feel so good (though later on someone told me he said so just to please me ):

    I’d also like to welcome our first timers: Mitchell Lim, Peter, Leng, Conrad, June Quek, Helen Choo. Do visit future meetings and you’ll know more of the members/SHC. My apology that the group introduction wasn’t going so well. will do better next time in a more conducive environment.

    I’d also like to thank Lisa Ong for coming early ‘just to support me’ as well as the 10 pairs of Quiz Trivia participants especially Lydia Chin who came ‘just because of the Quiz’. Congrats to Rose White & Ben Foo for being the Team with most correct answers (though later on someone told me he gave you some of the answers!) and Jonathan & Ann Seet for being 2nd. Not to forget our most enthusiastic teams of Sam + Karen & Kath + Janet Chan. Next time I’ll provide easier quiz n better platform to play. ok? As for Tim & Marilyn: I think you both are quite compatible in trivia game wise (but wah liao, don’t just copy number of tarts from other participants mah).

    Finally, I’d like to thank my newly acquaintance for staying put with me till the end: the Loooovvvely Nor, Friendly Bira, Pretty Susan Chan, John Howie & Freddy…

    Well (or should it be unwell?) Patrick-L, not one but many wires explode when you’re in the company of gals esp when they’re pretty & sexy. My fear is, will your basic instinct drive and hasten yr 64 to turn 69 ? If that happens, the reverberation may be more than joy with hubbies pinning you to the floor to re-connect some loose wires.

    Ah Huat is a warm & bubbly fella and obviously with his good looks, he was swarmed. I too held his hand longer than I had ever done with Sengh. That was natural but any more play-up when Huat Sor wasnt around to see might cause her to trample her feet and sink Hainan Island. Not so good yeah?

    How nice if you had meditated longer, say another 3 years, than finishing it at 4.30 a.m. A longer meditation will certainly open brighter eyes to see the difference btwn “isle” and “aisle”, not only in their meanings but also in pronunciations.

    Otherwise, you’re ok.

    Thanks Patrick-L, I too didnt know it or that you wd read so much in 69 than the 69 closing in on you in a few years’ time which was all I had in mind.

    I dont know Marilyn as an ex-banker but do know her hanker after the pots & pans so as to whip up my appetite with the best of food. Palm Isle is just another quiet and forlorn place but paradise is anywhere where love and devotion pervade and fill the air. Believe me….go work it out with yr love (whom I assume is still yr spouse, yeah? Hehe).

    Try as I might, I simply can’t see the link between ex-bankers and Palm Isle and even less, imagine why I would want to live anywhere near David Beckham who is neither kith or kin, when I am living happily in sunny Singapore, surrounded by loved ones, and especially with the one I love.

    I was so lonely boarding the plane without you to hold my hand and I was so terrified about my gold bullions. Kekekkeeee.

    Really, really nice meeting you 50 metres from my plane when I arrived. Sweet, sweet memory. You are so pleasant! Still have your hubby’s business card from you and will visit the next trip. Just make sure he has what I want (very eagle-eyed when it comes to jewelry). Kakakakaa. Hopefully, you will have time to go with me.
