It’s a nice time of the time to feel good. Merry Christmas greetings to all SilverHairsClub members

Christmas is coming.  It’s a good time of the year to pause and remember our friends and family members.   We take this opportunity to send best wishes to those we know and those we love.  In the past, we send Christmas cards, write an address on the envelope, put on a stamp and bring it to the Post Office.  We leave the rest of the work to the Postman.

Today, we use emails.  And, for SHCians, you can send "Merry Christmas" greetings to your friends via SilverHairsClub.com.

On this joyous mood, may I wish all SHCians a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  And that you will meet some good friends and bring new life into your SilverHairs years.

  1. Hi every SHCian,

I am also in a festive mood. Just went to my son’s school at Sathon Road in BKK, I could see so many Xmas decor. I wish you can be here. Temp is 23C, cool and not humid.

It’s a hald day for most. I wish everybody a very good Xmas. Of special appreciation are the people behind SilverHairsClub and supporting its activities for SilverHairs. You cheer and bring people together.

Again, a Merry Christmas to you.

  2. Dear friends……

Today is Christmas Eve, the spirit of Christmas is everywhere…from down the street to shopping centre….to the Heartland & office….

I am in the mood of celebrating Christmas though I am not a Christian. My dear friends, during this festive seasons, please take care of your health, don’t over consume liquor & Beer and those tempting food. Health is Wealth…take care!

My best wishes to you all…..A Merry Christmas and may this festival bring abundant JOY and HAPPINESS in your life!

    MERRY CHRISTMAS! Ah Nee :)

  3. This Post is an opportunity for SHCians to wish one another Merry Xmas. And, if you are new, and you feel no one knows you or you like others to know you, feel free to say “Merry Christmas”.

Even though there may be thousands of greetings, yours will be unique. I look forward to seeing your wishes. Practise now, before we reach Valentine Day.

  4. Dear SHCians, as Xmas is nearing and being out of circulation for awhile, I suddenly feel I want to wish all you guys (& families) a Merry Xmas and all the best in 2010!

Was wondering how to do this, thanks for starting this track, Terence.

It ia easy to get caught up with our demands and forget about the things that our hearts wants to do, to become less happy and healthy.

Maybe we should heed our doggie friends: “When you feel dog tired at night, it may be because you have growled all day long”

    Cheers, Ben

  5. Sharing…

    Silently, relentlessly, Time marches on,
    Striking down the days and they are forever gone;
Now the end for 2009 is near,
And gone from our lives will be another year! :(

December should have been a time of sadness,
But thank goodness, there is cheery Christmas,
And fresh hope for the new year waiting in the wing,
So lustily Auld Lang Syne we shall all sing. :)

A joyful Christmas and a blessed New Year to all in SHC :)

  6. Hi King Seng #30,

Your short Christmas greeting and comment really touch me. I am glad you have found some good friends with SilverHairsClub.

What most SHCians do not know is that I really wish SHC to remain simple and not structurally too organised. Some disorganisation is good for our souls and activities, afterall we have been living in a very organised society most part of our lives.

On this note, a merry Christmas to you and all SHCians.

  9. Dear Terence & fellow SHCians,

It’s that time of the year again to send season’s greetings. My warmest wishes to all for a Blessed Christmas and a happy, healthy, wealthy and prosperous New Year.

BOOMZ! BOOMZ! BOOMZ! (found this new word in the “Riz-dictionary”, hee…)

  10. Here’s wishing all SHCians a blessed Christmas & Happy New Year.

2010 promise to be a brighter year, let’s hope the economy goes back into full swing, and there will be no more job retrenchments, and people will live in harmony, and not fight amongst themselves.

We’ll toast at the countdown in Kovan on 31st Dec.

    Cheers.
    Lydia.

  11. Dear Terence & all SHCians,

    Christmas is a time for Love; a time for Joy and Peace;
A time to display the Christmas Tree and a time to stuff the geese.
    It’s a time when we can come together, however far or near;
To shed a little hope into a world of sorrow and fear.

    To give a gift of Hope to one who otherwise has none;
To be a Friend to somebody whom everyone else has shun.
    To be Forgiving of our faults, and of our sisters and our brothers;
To Live in Peace and Harmony with ourselves and with each other

Blessed X’mas 2009 & Happy New Year 2010 to all.

  13. Hi Patsy #9,
Can’t remember if it was Buangkok area but the one I went to was also clean except looks a bit neglected and there’s quite a few Filipinos working there. If I remember right, the person in charge there is called Francis and he’s the one who told me that they had a hard time asking for donations as the Govt only helps with a little and the rest depends on them and some walk-ins. Now that I know they like BBQ Pork & P Floss etc. I’ll certainly remember to bring some to them the next time I visit. Thanks for the info.
Thanks MaryLee #10 and everyone else for all yr good wishes. Will look forward to meeting up with you too when you next visit us in S’pore.
Christmas can be celebrated by everyone regardless of race or religion, so we shd all just rejoice and be happy and join in the fun whenever or wherever you may be. Merry X’mas everyone! Best wishes, Lisa

  14. Dear Terence and all SHCians

    Cheers,

  15. Seasons Greetings.

Someone just blurted matter of factly in an email to me : Not seen, you must be dead ! I wished………..but the 8 kg weight loss isn’t quite on my wish list though. Certainly not when KrisMas is so near.

Left, right & centre, it has all been karaoke, starting with “Jiao Wo Ren Shi Ni” which contains gibberish lyris like “let ewe take away the sweet potatoes and aye keep the betul nuts”, getting better with “Li Jing”, then the canto “Kam Siew Dor Chang Chung”, thus leaving Mr Soros behind to chew the betul nuts. Finally, it was “Joy to the World”, not the one celebrating Jeremiah the bull-frog but the seasonal reminder that the Lord has come.

Wishing Everyone well, do well, keep well and of cos no wishing is well without Senor Sam’s huat huat huat into the New year 2010 !

  16. A MERRY CHRISTMAS To All SHCians!!!

Count your Blessings, not your Sorrow

Look on the Bright side and

Things will be better, come tomorrow

A HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS 2010 TO EVERYONE!!!

  20. I love Christmas. I enjoy shopping for presents and wrapping them up for my nieces and nephews. But now all of them hve grown up and I hve stopped buying them presents.

I love Christmas. It marks the end of the year. It is the time we get our bonus. Lots of money to buy gifts and to give to parents. But not this year!!! Our bonus this year is so so pathetic. :-)))But never mind, health is more impt.

I love Christmas. A season of loving and giving. A time for hope and joy. A time for reflection. And I love the Christmas carols ….Silent night, holy night…even Jingle Bells!!!. My parents have recently converted to Christianity. Maybe this Christmas I will bring them to church.

I wish all a very merry Christmas. I always feel very sad after the Christmas holiday. But for now, I am jus going to enjoy Christmas. Hope u do too.

  21. Hi Terence and all SHCians,

Greetings from Down Under! Wishing all of you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Really grateful for the gift of life and friendship…

Special Thanks to Terence, Caroline, Norlinda, Catherine, SusanC, Amy Soon, Lynn Chan, Lisa Ong, Edwin Chen, Ivy Low, Kristin, Gwyneth, Veronique, Grace Wong, Paul, Peggy, Hou Chong, Linda Loh, Joan, Agnes, Patrick – you all have shared your life, friendship and love with me and my family members in Perth.

Come 2010, I am looking forward to meeting more friends – MaryC, LawrenceL, FredaL, DanielC and many more.

Have a jolly time! and dont forget food hampers and pressies for the less fortunate!

    Big hugs from
    Mary Lee (Perth)

  22. Hi Lisa@#7,

Yes, we have visited the one at Lorong Buang Kok on two separate occasions.

At that time when we were visiting them, apparently, it wasn’t easy to get a date to visit. They have visits from regular groups. As not to tire out the residents, we were given time slot like from 2-4pm on a Saturday, a number of weeks down the road from the time we requested.

Their favourite request was for BBQ meat and floss, we were happy to provide for them. From what I could recollect of our visits there, we thought the home was clean and well visited.

So, I am not sure if we are talking about the same place.

We don’t have any particular preference for charity work. When someone in our group hear of any need and want to do something about it, we just come together to do it. This year happens to be in Khon Kaen, northeast of BKK as proposed by someone in our group.

    Warmest Regards,
    Patsy

  23. Hello Terence and all SHCians

Berri Merry Christmas and a Happy Prosperous Year 2010!!

May all our wishes come true :)

    Be Happy and be blessed
    Cindy

  24. Hi Terence and All,

Many thanks for all your good wishes and here’s wishing each and every SHC member, a Happy and Merry X’mas and may you all be blessed with good health, wealth and happiness throughout your golden years. Let’s all rejoice and welcome Year 2010 with the Oomphs as the youngsters will say.

Dear Patsy #4, glad to note that you and a few others will be going to BKK to help out the lepers there. Just wanted to share with you too on our homefront and that’s the Leprosy home in S’pore who are very much neglected as well. I’ve been there last year to make my donation and was told by a matron of ‘Moral Home for the Aged’ that these lepers do not get many visitors so just thought I’d share this with you since we have the same thoughts.
Merry X’mas and may you be blessed always for your kindness. Best wishes & regards, Lisa Ong

  25. Hi Dear friends of SHC

Greetings to one and All from USA.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Wish you all the Best for the coming year and God Bless.

Will see you all soon at Christmas after my celebration here.

    Stay healthy ad happy.
    Cheers!!

  26. I don’t believe in God. But I like Christmas season because it includes the celebration of peace, joy and giving. If we can have more of this celebrations, the world will be a better place.

To all you Christians and fellow pagans…..Merry X’mas

  27. My dear friends at SHC,

Wishing each and everyone A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

If you feel you have been blessed and want to share your blessings with those less fortunate, here is your chance!

A group of friends and I, have spearheaded a charity trip to BKK to help 3 charity projects at Khon Kaen, northeast of Bangkok, namely:
    1) Leper Village where lepers live with their family (about 650 lepers)
    2) Girls’ Home for girls from broken, violent, poor, dysfunctional families
    3) School for physically impaired children

Have collected about 360kg or more clothes and warm clothings (both new and old), blankets to be sent via our baggage allowance and a sea freight shipment. Also arrange for a rice truck with 1,500kg (only 50%) for distribution at the Leper village. Still waiting for funds to purchase another 1,500kg of rice and other items which are on their wish list.

If you can help, please email me at patsylpk@gmail.com so that I can provide you with more information on these 3 charity projects.

I, together with a group of friends, will be leaving for BKK on 16 Dec 09 to bring, not only the stuffs over but also to bring our Christmas’ cheers, greetings, joys and hopes to their hearts!

In the meantime, BE HAPPY and HEALTHY! And always remember that you are MORE BLESSED than many, many others, even though things may be rough for you in the current moment.

    Warmest Regards,
    Patsy

  30. Many of us look forward to Christmas. It’s the birthday of Jesus Christ. And, to the world, it’s a joyous occasion to celebrate and enjoy the year end festivities. It’s also a time of the year to remember our friends and loved ones.

SilverHairsClub has a lot of meaning to all of us. It has fulfilled its objective of providing a platform for SHCians to meet new and more friends. I like to take this occasion to thank Dolly, Yew Kwong, Oi Cheng for their work in the club, and to wish them a Merry Christmas.

And, to Dan, Joy, Jacqueline, Robert, Christina, Ah Nee, Francis, Lily, Patrick, Conrad, Marys, James, Ben, Chin, Huat Huat, Rosalind, Richard, Conrad, Steven, Serene, Frisna, Lisa, Jassmine, Patrick, Charles, Dhevi, Douglas, Feztus, Ronald, Andrew and Boon Liang for their dedicated interest in wanting to see fellow SHCians happy. All of you are truly cheer givers. A Merry Christmas to you.

As SilverHairs, it is up to us to look good and feel good. Share your feelings. Merry Christmas to all SHCians.
