Eat durians, logans, cockcoaches and smell fresh fishes in the morning

I suddenly feel the urge to eat some Thai durians.  Also, tom yam soups, steamed sotongs and plenty of veggies.  Then, I think the sceneries should be an open sea with winds blowing over the face.  Maybe the smell of 2 inch crabs, 5 inch king crabs and fresh anchovies caught in nets, in the morning.  And, the urge to sleep from lunch to dinner.  Chance to eat some cockcroaches.  May 2-3 star hotels.  Likely with hot water.  A chance to chat with the local villagers and maybe learn how to cook tomyam soup and something else.

I am planning a trip to Thailand 23- 26 April 2010, both days inclusive.  Likely to be relaxing, no shopping, nothing to do, coasting Chonburi, to Jomtien to Bang Saray and Rayong.  Plenty of light eating and loads of sleeping and dreaming.  Likely to be limited to 16 pax. Itinery will be plane land in Bkk, pickup and return to airport.  Dates likely fixed and not changeable.

Please indicate your interest here.  I think we will try a new way to confirm the trip for those who are confirmed to join.  Likely again to be $50 deposit and the rest pay when you are in Thailand.  If you cannot come, we will use the $50 to buy durians.  Have fun.

Fri, Apr 23, 2010 – Must arrive Bkk airport by 0900 hrs. Pickup at airport 0930 hrs. You can use Jetstar, Tigerairways or any airline. There is no pickup from Bkk.

Mon, Apr 26, 2010 – Trip ends 1500 hrs. You will leave a hotel in Chonburi. From here, you will be sent to the airport. You can also make your own way to Bkk, book your own hotel and go back to Singapore on your own.

  5. Hi guys!

Those of you who want a cheap ticket, try Jetstar to Phuket… I’ve paid S$58 for a return fare including taxes early April. You can get to Rayong from Phuket… unless you want to go to Bangkok to join the Red Shirts!

Terence, since you want a smaller group, would you consider organizing another trip on another day/date/month? Not necessarily the same part of Thailand……

    Ros

  8. Since the government resettled us in hdb flat after our ‘encouragement’, I missed my durians, rambutan, cockroaches, pigs, chickens, crocodiles and the likes, it will be good to relive my kampong life in another country again.

Do include me in this trip.

  9. Rosalind@20..kita same boat!

  10. The trip to coastal Thailand is confirmed. I was not expecting a long list; so do bear with it as I try to scare you with other urghhs. Have to spend some time next week to check on the flight availability. If the tickets are about SGD 280, great. Hope it would not cost us $480 return.

For those who are unable to make it to the wanted list, no worries, there is always another time. I am in Bangkok most weekends. Watch out for the red shirts or the yellow ones. Kenneth’s idea of flying from Phuket may force us to take this route. And, if we have too many ladies, I may have to get someone to sell you.

  11. Hi Terence,

According to my research, the three budget airlines – Tigerair, AirAsia and JetstarAsia charge approximately of about $220 to $258 for return flight. Tigerair provide the cheapest fare amongst the three.

  12. #22 Nor,

Nor sayang, mana boleh ini macham? In your case still got hope. Sign up your suami as SHC member then both of you can go sebok in Thailand. Hahaha

  14. Hi Terence

Just the other day during the SHC meet on 30 Jan at Safra club. Happen to talk about organizing a trip Thailand. Planning is perhaps to Hua Hin or Phuket. Is a coincidence and you post it ahead of me. The date and places you mentioned are fine with me. In this case if vacancy is still open please confirm my name on the list. Let me know if you need any help.

    Kim

  15. Hi Terence

Please register our interest if vacancy is open, Vincent and I. If driving assistance is required, Vincent will be glad to help.

    cheers

  16. Hi Terence ,

I had a few questions to ask and I appreciate your answers.

    1) Since the response is so Goooood and there are > 16 pax perhaps 100 pax, are we traveling in a few chartered buses or with a convoy of 8 vans.

    2) Are all these coastal towns ?

    3) Do the coastal roads have long and winding turns like what we have experienced in Padang ?

    4) Staying in hotels, motels or just in the open field camping ?

    5) As the response has been pretty good, could you give us a brief itinerary of the places we are going to visit ?

Better be kiasu, sounds interesting , I too would like to join this trip.

  17. Eh, where did the handyman’s posting (under the cruise thread) go to? Bo liao leh. Anyhow, this is my rejoinder :

Back to this thread………Steven-C, convoys safe meh? 57 in a convoy all kena shot and buried. In another convoy, 2 got killed and the casulty wd hv been higher if it was escortede by armed security. You’re tall, more to shoot at…..hehe.

  18. Hi Steven #36,

I have also been thinking how to manage the large groups. One way is to use use lorries and pick-ups. Everybody jumps in, and we see how many we can stack.the weather at that time is hot, likely in the low 40C. Actually, so hot we don’t need to use clothes.

Yes, very coastal but don’t think anyone will vomit.I think we will travel slow. Lorries and pickups don’t go more than 35Kmph. On the high side, we can see shellfish farms, and on the low side, we can see fishing villages.

Hotels, gosh no. The Thais may even call them resorts. I think we better call me huts. Penty of holes in the roof.

Itinery: I shall get some of the road side stalls o teach local tomyam soup, steamed lime based sotongs or masaman shitfish.basically, eat, sleep, and enjoy sea breeze,

The itinery is just relaxing. I shall give a more detailed plan a week before the trip. By the way, I am no travel guide, just soneone who loves to eat, sleep and dream, this time near the water. Feel free to ask questions.

Don’t forget to send your CNY wishes at the right post.

    Terence Seah

  19. Wow! Terence!

What a good response you are getting! So envious of all of you who can go! How I wish I could join in!

Die die must retire next year so that I can join in more SHC activities!

All the best wishes & for the trip anyway!

    Cat Ho

  20. Terence

As usual … u are scaring some out of the large group again… This time I am not going take your nonsense about the tranportation & accomodation (haha)

    Me sure in this time..

    Karen

  21. Hi Terence @ 38,

    Thanks for your prompt answers.

It looks more to me like an Outback Tour of Thailand and one needs to rough it out under the sweltering hot sun at 40 deg C . Sure kena cooked and at the end of tour will be like BBQ pork. Hong Pok Pok. in Canto dialect.

  23. Seems like all the big names in town are making a beeline for this not-to-be-missed event of the year so Terence, how can we – tim, ktwong, rogerlim, ivanlim, dennishaha, malcolmchen, sekaran, francis, yewkwong, chowweng, thomasgoh, denniswee, ronaldkoh, lumfook, ronaldlee, aaron, jonathan, king, pengwah, andrewyeung – miss out?

And if i can convince him in time to join shc, gochopthong who you all know is a very generous man, will donate free samples of his very special neuter gender thongs for all to try out while in the thai jungle….what happens next is all up to you.

Terence, now you hv to swallow 3 panadol bottles to hope find a solution to yr longan trip, or hide yourself in the longkang.

(Left only 4 days to be bad……come Sunday, must be a fgoodie boy again, sigh).

  25. Tim-L #49,
Will have to give this a miss-out. Dates not suitable, have an exhibition on-going. May be next time.

Terence #38 and Karen Thio #40,
Perhaps, hiring a convoy of Green-fuel TUTU as mode of TPT will be a good experience touring the country-side. The TUTU can also do the “WILLYS” on the way — You the Front Wheel Up in the AIR and the back-wheels go skiing zig-zag?

Hahaha …. hope didn’t scare anybody out of the (big) group.

    Ivan

  26. Thot of not writing anything today but you goody good Ivan-L drags me in again.

You hahaha, I lagi hahahahahahahahahha, louder somemore hor.

See, my list of “butties squeezing in” was just a t-i-c so they must have shaken their heads and laughed it off but you took it so seriously.

Btw, I know what exhibition you’re talking about. I too exhibit it sometimes but scared scared each time I do it……..if the she who sees it doesnt like its size (rather, lack of size), no joke, the exhibitionist is starightaway condemned as a flasher and the telephone call she makes is not to him but to a mata chia which will soon come flashing for him.

Seriously, where do you normally exhibit?

  27. I’ve seen the bugs they sell at the streets in Bangkok, if anyone wants to see the picture, please email me at anna2211@hotmail.com and I will send you the picture. I remember the ‘cockroaches’ didn’t really look like the ones you normally see running around your kitchen, maybe they’re not cockroaches. But they had fried grasshoppers, crickets maggots or locusts, big beetles and I think spiders.

    No bugs for me!

  28. On the trip to coastal Thailand, here is a little update. It is likely we will start from the airport on Friday, and go by minivan or coach to Chonburi (1 nite), then to Rayong (1 night) and then back to Chonburi (last one night).

I am trying to organise where we will sleep, and once this is done, we will decide how many pax we can take. I hope to complete this by end Feb. Therein, I shall let you know, and you can start booking the airtickets.

For those who have limited leave, you can leave on Monday 26 April. For those who have unlimited leave, you can carry on your stay or move to Bangkok, and go back to the airport on your own. So, this is the rough itinery.

For those who are unable to make this trip, there will always be another time. This trip is ideal for the lazy ones, the photographers, those who love to eat, and those who love to have the see breeze blowing at your face all the time. Definitely, not for the fuzsy ones.

    Terence Seah

  29. Hi Terence,

Much as I wanted to but disappointed that I was not able to get my leave approve for this trip. My apology for the cancellation.

  33. Re the trip to Chonburi, here is the confirmation, and I would advise those who are 100% sure you can spare the time and the torture to book their air-tickets. If you cannot make it, there is always another time. This is not a 5-star trip, maybe 2.5 stars.

To avoid a situation of boy sleeping with girl, please book your flights together, so you share a room. Three persons can share a room and share the room cost. I guess one will have a foldable bed.

The trip will last Fri, Sat and Sun night. There is no deposit payment; but to participate, you have to give me your flight number, ETA and ticket number. Without your ticket number, you will not be registered.

Only 16 pax can join. The official registration list is below.

    Terence Seah

  42. Hi Terence,

I have to apologise for not being able to turn up. When I came back from V’nam with Tian Soo, they told me about a meeting on the 24th. Unfortunately it would not be fair for me to miss this meeting, so I have to tender my apologies to you.

To be sure I will miss it as I have never visited the isthmus of Kra and Rayong (or is Ranong?). I have travelled by train to Bkk from Penang and bypassed the route a few times and it was always an interesting trip for me. In fact I think I started to like travelling by trains during these trips as I could walk about, eat and drink when I like. I still remember the fried rice, Thai style (kao pad Thai?), the villagers selling the fried birds and the iced coffee (ao liang?) whenever the train makes a stop.

I wish everybody a safe and enjoyable journey.

I hope there will be a place for me when you next visit there again.

    Cheers

  43. Hi CharlesC,

I see plenty of opportunities to visit Thailand and nearby Indo-china countries. One day, we might just find a spot and stay there just to enjoy the iced coffee and the khao phad.

We can consider the tour group closed in terms of numbers. I shall release some of the tour information early April. Just remember, weather is hot and humid. Bring shorts and little wear.

    Terence Seah

  44. Hello Terence and all SHCians,

I am unable to join you all this thailand trip cos I shall be travelling to HCMC about the same period. Perhaps some SHCians who have been there on a F/E tour, care to recommend a tour agent or two?

We have 2 elders, 76 and 80years of age travelling with us. We need transport and clean, safe accommodation in central HCMC.

    Thank you.

Sorry Terence for using your thailand thread. Need help for V senior citizens’ comfort.

    Thank you.

    Regards,

    Geok Suan.

  45. Here is a little update on the Chonburi trip. First, let me welcome you to a part of Thailand, which is rarely explored by tourist. We will spend a lot of time sleeping, eating and smelling fresh air from the sea. Lazing around is the theme. No shopping.

Secondly, this Thurs 25 Mar, I shall be doing a recce of the area and route. Although I am familiar with the route, I thought some plans would be great. Vincent Khoo will join me for this reccee and the trip holiday too. So, again, straight from airport, I pick up car, start the route reccee and return this Saturday. Got to make sure the cockcroaches are in place, and the durian fruits are smelling good. Also, have to negotiate with the red shirts so that they stay put in Bangkok.

Thur, gosh, I have not booked my air ticket for the April trip yet. I know all of you have bought the tickets. Well, I have to decide if I come to Bkk from India or from Singapore. But, no worries, the vans will wait for you. Just joking.

    Terence Seah

  46. Thanks Terence and Vincent #79 for the recceing the place for us. Cockcroaches????? urgh…don’t know if I’m game enough to try that but Durians, wah……, these I must have, so pls find us the sweetest and the most ‘lemak’ & creamy ones ok? How about massage? Are these available where we’ll be going? I know there’s quite a few Thai massages in KL’s shopping mall where you just lie down with your clothes on and they can still give you a good massage and lifting you with a few left & right twists which caused your ribs to give a few clicking sound and that really feels shiok and good! Ahem, better stop now as I’m dreaming of my holidays already instead of working, so got to stop & get back to work. Have a great day, Rgds, Lisa

  47. Hi Lisa, we can look out for masseurs who are 70 – 80 years old, with their teeth all gone. Hands rough after working in the fields for years. Great for scrubbing the Singapore body.

    Alright, all positions closed.

    Terence Seah

  48. “………with your clothes on and they can still give you a good massage…..”

Wow, a corollary, the massage shd even be lagi shiok without clothes on? Now I know what i had missed….must try that out the next time. Will the masseuse reciprocate in a similar state of dressed/undressed? If so, can the patron massage the masseuse and so even out the bill and no payment is required at the end of that 1-2 hours of mutual help?

Since I am still (on) having clothes on, there’s this cleaner at my office block who walks in and out of the loo. When that happens, we hv to shift our target, inevitably hitting each other on the legs. We hv suffered long enough so the guys here hv decided to do our biz in future with clothes on and think we will still get a good run-out.

  49. Not a bad idea Terence #81, that’s what we call ‘exfoliating scrub’ at the spa, hahahaha……

Well Tim #82, you can always try asking the masseurs at the mall in KL the next time you’re there if you can massage them back to even out your bill but I don’t think you’d like that as your masseurs will be mostly male who has the strength to lift you up & turn you upside down and inside out, kekekeke……….while we get the ladies as our masseurs – sorry to have dashed your dreams huh? Rgds, Lisa

  50. “………..your masseurs will be mostly male who has the strength to lift you up & turn you upside down and inside out…….sorry to have dashed your dreams huh?”

Haha, Lisa-O, that you end yr write with a “?” clearly means you know me more and more (less & less of Fred?? Dont hor).

Since my shift in inclination, dont it think it’s so wonderful that the masseuse will be a hunk. Can he do a lot more than just to lift me up and turn me upside down? Like things you and Fred still do sometimes…….know what I mean, right? That will not dash but cash in on my dreams.

Hehe, better not fool around too much with selling this 3rd gender thingy as hip otherwise Steven-C will be the first to think it’s alright not to be straight. He is still very impressionable and when he wants to learn, he learns very fast.

  51. Hi Terence#79

Just returned from Bangkok last night and fortunately we did not encounter any red shirt demo. However, our upon arrival at the Airport on 17 Mar, one taxi driver refused to take us to my friend’s apartment at Pratunam. Even the locals told us that there were red shirt in Chiang Mai but we just proceeded with our plan and everything was to our favour. Though the 17hrs train ride from Bangkok to Chiang Mai was tough, we enjoyed very much exploring the place by a rented car and getting lost every now and then.

    Good luck to all!

    veronique

  52. Veronique is right. The reds won’t bother you and it is wise to stay away from these rallies.

I invited Vincent to recce trip with me yesterday. Pick up car and off to seaside Rayong. Temp around 40C. 2.5 hrs drive from bkk, stop here and there to eat. Thought of traditional thai breakfast eg sweet potatoes and tapioca. Enjoyed the sea views, ships, jetties and huge markets. Settled down in an unknown seafood restaurant, before going out for Kradung durian and a few bottles of beer. Finally dragged ourselves into Rayong President for a good night sleep. Now, it’s morning. Going out to the morning fresh markets for breakfast and some more fresh air.

    Terence Seah.

  53. If you come o Bangkok from now to April, you are likely to see Red Shirts in vans and motorcycles along the streets. The mood is usually joyous, and you will hear music, drums, dancing and speeches over the air, round the clock.

While this is a peaceful demonstration, I think it is wise to stay a distance because crowds can be pretty sizeable.

I just finish the reccee with Vincent from Rayong to Pattaya to Chonburi. Weather is likely to be high 30s to low 40s. Bring swimming costume, suntan lotion, a small towel and plenty of scanty pieces. A pair of slippers useful.

We can start pairing up next month. I mean for hotel rooms only.

    Terence Seah

  54. Re the Chonburi trip, here are the room plans. We will try to organise as requested.

  55. The Chonburi trip is coming up soon. The Thai govt has just announced a state of emergency in and around Bangkok. What it means and how it will affect the Thai people and the country is still unclear. Tensions are running high among the red shirts, the government and the general population.

How will this affect our trip? We will be about 2-3 hours aways from Bangkok. Some participants may choose to withdraw. This is understandable. Some would still wait to see the situation.

As of now, I am still going ahead with the trip. But, we should keep ourselves updated, after the Thai New Year holidays Apr 12-14.

    Terence Seah

  56. Thanks Terence #91 for the update. Regardless, I’ll still go on the trip as I believe all things are fated. One may stay at home and still not be safe but having said that, we’ll still keep ourselves updated on the news after the Thai New Year holidays and play by ear, e.g. if we’re not allowed to fly, then so be it, otherwise will join you on the trip as planned. Rgds, Lisa

  57. This strife may escalate but of cos there’s not much one can do about fate. Still, it’s good to exercise caution and be alert when you folks are there. No shame hiding under the bed if that’s the safest place.

Lisa-O, I dunno what you’ll do but I think I know what Fred can do when he’s in the mood. He wont be a red or a yellow – that will make him partisan. He will come very clean, proud in his natural color. He will shake hands with everybody, thereby infecting them with his genuine affability and friendliness. The red and yellow start shaking each others’ hands as well.

Then, a mosquito stings Fred’s butt and he shakes it. Inteerpreting it as another gesture of friendship, they too shake their backsides.

In no time, the whole nation follows suit. Believe me, there can be no trouble if everyone is obsessed with shaking butts.

Thank you Fred (and the mosquito), in anticipation of you defusing a very tense and potentially explosive situation.

  58. # 93 tim liu ah kor ,

hahahhaa really can pengsan reading yr comment liao…

u r nos 1 joker in shc…. den all of them must now try & shake their butts & u be de master hor !!!!!!

    they ve 2 sit 4 de test & pass by u hor…..

    sam huat huat huat

  59. Well, well Sam-G, you too are on a onec-in-a-lifetime mission. You’ll play a role bigger than that played by admiral ???.

Get all your gang – nvm it’ll only be abt 10 of you – dressed in half yellow half red, inside and outside. Scold and slap everyone you meet as you all march down the thoroughfare, singing ????????

Dazed and when they ask you why, tell them they’re all too laid-back & lazy. They all need changes…..revolution, reneissance, pooja………… Continue to scold & slap them until they all join you on the march.

??? hor. Singapore ???. Hongkong ???. they too must have similar housing there……….???

  60. Given the negative news in Thailand, there are three withdrawals to the trip. Gingko, Karen and Sockie have withdrawn from the trip. As I said, this withdrawal is understandable.

    Terence Seah

  61. Hahaha Tim #93, thank you for tryng to inject some humour to our coming trip. If Fred’s butt shaking (with the mozzi’s help) can help defuse the tension there, I would support him 101%. Anyway, looks like the situation is slowly cooling off, so hope we can all still make it for the trip. We’ll all play by ear and see what happens next. Rgds, Lisa O.

  62. Well, Lisa-O, when I wrote that post, the situation then was more like a carnival. Situation appears to have deteriorated since so even if ecstasy-addicted mozzies were to bite Fred, and however hard he shakes his backside, it might still not be enough. So, looks like I will have to recall ????????????????????????? ????????????????

Seriously, if you have to run, pls run, but in the reverse direction of the red or yellow. Do wear white and when the hour of reckoning comes, remove it, wave it above yr head. ??????????????

    Go chiat png liao.

  63. Re the Chonburi trip, the numbers have gone done. Evyonne and Mary have withdrawn. Now,9 left for the trip. Anyone planning to leave, please let me know by thur 16 Apr latest, as i will confirm the hotels by 16 April 5pm. Trip is on.

    Terence Seah

  64. Tim #99, thanks for your reminder on the colours red & yellow. Have to change all that to white now or blue now.

Terence #100, Fred & I ‘park see boh chow’, so we’re on ah!!! I’m sure Paul and rest will be writing to advise you too. Rgds, Lisa

  65. Well, Lisa-O, so long as it’s color that can be put on and remove, there’s risk…………skin color is still the best but no matter how much you’re tempted to, hehe, dont think you shd actually do……..

Jokes aside, there’s agility in a smaller group reacting to an emergency……..all can jump into one tuttoot instead of waiting for a coach.

Whatever, enjoy and best wishes to you all !

  66. hahaha Tim #102, you’re right, I shouldn’t…..otherwise all red and yellow shirts will be after me instead (so as not to embarrass them kekeke……) Mmmm……. jumping onto a tuttoot is not a bad idea, may just take your advice but I’m afraid I may just puncture/topple it instead, hahaha….. Thanks for your well wishes, do pray for us too ok? Rgds, Lisa

  67. latest count to the Chonburi trip:

One van of 8 people. Nina has withdrawn.

We will enjoy the trip, and have a lot of fun, relaxation and eating.

    Terence Seah

  68. Hi Terence,
Is payment for this trip to be in S$?
Please estimate how we need to pay up.

    Rgds
    LLEE

    To those who have withdrawn.

Only 8!! Looks like we have quite a lot of durians to eat.

“Please indicate your interest here. I think we will try a new way to confirm the trip for those who are confirmed to join. Likely again to be $50 deposit and the rest pay when you are in Thailand. If you cannot come, we will use the $50 to buy durians. Have fun.”

    HA HA

  69. Hi Lawrence and all travelling on the Chonburi trip this week,

Well, the numbers are down, and we have a full mini-van to ourselves. I encourage you to use flexible bags, and light clothings as weather is hot.

There will be 8 of us. I have also invited Vincent Khoo to come along, so that we can spread out the conversation and he can help out with the translation.

No worries, no need for deposit. Please do not expect 5 stars or 4 stars accommodation. The cockcroaches are waiting. Therefore, no posh dining. Sleepers are welcome throughout the trip. If anyone drops out last minute, we will still go ahead. All payment will be in Thai Baht, for food and hotels. I should be able to give a price indication on Mon or Tues.

I look forward to seeing participants at the new Bangkok airport. Please advise what airline you are using. I am on Jetstar.

    Terence Seah

  70. Is anyone extending their stay?
Our return flight is on 28 Apr.
We have not decided where to stay yet, either Bangkok or Pattaya. Depanding on the suitation.

  71. Terence, I can see that you have internet access and are still reading & writing from where you are.

So, howdy? Is everyone behaving and keeping well? Has any of yr trippers torn his/her yellow top or yanked off the red spaghetti to become strippers and so made a cautionary statement? Or are they on their way to Bkk for some shouting and running exercises?

  72. Hi TimL,

As usual, you have always been concerned with fellow humans. The Chonburi trip went well smoohtly, we skipped Bangkok, sop no red shirts. Anyway, they have change to multi-coloured clothes. So cannot recognise them.

We had a good time eating, sleeping and dreaming, smelling fresh sea breezes, sweating under 38C temperatures. Plenty of crabs, sotongs, tomyams, durians, fishes and thai food. Changed our mind about cockcroaches though.

Played with monkeys, enjoyed wide sea views, sleeping on deck chairs by the sea, pay fruit puzzle, and watching morning markets in action.

Pearl was the love of the group. Lisa leads the hunger trial. Paul our photograher. Vincent who talks sex the whole day. Fred who eyes the attractive condos lining the beaches. Peggy, can see she enjoys going out with hubby. Lawrence who knows the difference between a swordfish and a saba fish. Jessie who can really walk and walk. We left them behind, they are still in Thailand.

    Just nice, not too short.

    Terence Seah
Join us the next time when your girl is bigger.

    Terence Seah

  73. Thank you Terence, for obliging me with your roving report which really makes my heart go out to where you have returned. Hopefully, next year, I will have more time at my disposal and bigger hope that the red and yellow wd have blended together once again happily as one friendly people of the famed Land of Smiles. In preparation, they shd go to Geylang CC tonite for some ??? ??? ??? ??? ?????? ??? ??? ?????? training.

  74. Hi Terence/Vincent,
Sorry I couldn’t write earlier as I was overwhelmed with hundreds of emails (580 to be exact) and had a hard time getting thru it and responding etc.

Anyway, just like to thank you and Vincent and your friend and his family for taking care of us and making our trip so enjoyable. I must say it was a really laid-back holiday except for my upset stomach on the 2nd day which was quickly resolved after taking the ‘Po Chai’ pills.

If not for the hot sweltering weather, the whole trip would have been perfect. The next time I go to Thailand again, it will have to be during the cool season.

So on behalf of everyone, I’d like to thank you for a wonderful and exciting trip. Special thanks to Vincent for sharing with us about his adventure and stay in Thailand in those 20+ yrs and there’s no question about it being a ‘MAN’s paradise. I’ll definitely consider putting Fred there for his retirement and I’m sure he’ll thank me for it, hahahaha………… Rgds, Lisa

  76. Hi Jessie/Lawrence #113,
Good to hear that you’re both back safe & sound and also envy you both for having such a good time. Wow, must go again but this time during cooler weather so that I can enjoy the massages and delicious food etc.

In fact, we were so worried that you were both staying at such a cowboy town but sure glad to hear that it turns out to be a very enjoyable town after all. Look forward to another trip, but this time maybe somewhere else up in the mountain in Thailand where it’s cooler. Rgds, Lisa
