SHC 8 Jan 2019 monthly gathering at Velocity

Let’s beginning the year of the pig with the Jan 2019 mthly.  Many members would have celebrated a fun and memorable year end.  Before the Lunar New Year festival arrives in early Feb, let’s find sometime together to meet up.

This is a good occasion for members who wish to organise a CNY lunch or dinner, and forming a table or two among friends.  Members who are joining the Phuket to Bangkok self drive in April can also get together and meet up.  Better still, those who are non drivers and wish to join the trip as passengers can also look to partner willing drivers. Plse read Phuket post for details.

As usual and typical of monthly gatherings, this event is for you to meet new members and catch-up with old ones too. Come along and get to know people whom you can get along with.  Get to know someone who will come with you to our monthly gatherings every time. Find travel Kaki’s, mahjong Kaki’s, JB kakies, food lovers, or friends to chat. Cycling, walking or exercise friends.

  1. I am so glad to see so many members signed up for this Jan monthly gathering. I hope more will come and meet more fellow members.

Howard Yong, recognised for his short SilverHairs, will be coming after 6pm, after attending classes. If your name is within the first 30 names in the registration, please catch up with him. He will give you a SilverHairsClub cloth patch for you to sew on to your blouse, tshirt, bag or cap.

Howard is very chatty, friendly and sometimes full of nonsense. Do get to know him

  2. Hi Terence ,
I would like to register for the event on 8th January 2019.
Due to work, I will be a little late but will try to request for earlier release.
Hope all will not leave too early . See u all on that day.
Happy New Year 2019 to ALL !

  3. Wonderful we hit above 30 pax for the upcoming gathering.

To be fair to everybody who register – i will only issue the item to the respective name register who attend on that day – avoid collection on behalf of other.

Those who didn’t show up on the actual day before 7pm, i will let go the balance to other from name list no 31 onward while stock last or final decision by Terence discretion.

Most important is….be happy to say thank you to Terence’s generosity and help me to smooth up the distribution.

Tips – creative ideas for the the patch :
    1. Key chain with paper clip
    2. charger cable holder
    3. headphone cable holder
    4. Bag zipper holder
    5. Mobile phone holder
    6. Bookmark
    7. Label to file folder
    8. HPB tracker as band to avoid fiction
    9. Wrist band for quick identification SHC events
    10. Tie on the tree for well wishes.
Please help to contribute for more DIY, creative ideas

  4. Excellent Howard for the ideas and suggestions. I could not have come up with better ideas

Yes, the SHC cloth patch is suitable, and helps us recognise ourselves as a club.

TQ for helping out with the distribution to the 1st 30 registered members who turn up at the monthly gathering

  5. Hi Terence/Susan

Pls register for my friend, Lilian Quek who is also a SHC member. She had loss her SHC password and her email password, but wanted to attend the coming SHC meeting.

    THANKS & REGARDS

  6. During the mthly gathering on the 8 Jan 2019, when you arrive, please register your name against the attendance list with Stella Sheng.

There is no need to write your Tel number or email address in the registration list, as the Club has already this information.

This event is strictly for registered members in the list only. Friends and family members may attend but only if they are SHC members.

  7. Yoon Chin, our Club admin, manages members passwords.

If you are unable to reset your password to enter the Club SilverHairsClub.com, please meet Yoon Chin during the monthly gathering.

Having a password to enter the Club allows you to participate in its activities, communicate with other members and enables to share your interests with other like-minded memners..

If your friends do not have a password, get them to register for this gathering now

      1. Thank you Susan. Oh a pity I would not be meeting you there. Yes, I hope to see you at the next!
Have fun, wherever you will be. Take care.

        Cheers
        Carly

  8. Today, we shall have the first monthly gathering of the year. I am very pleased to note the high attendee list.

SilverHairsClub was created with one objective only, and that is to provide a platform for SilverHairs to meet new and more SilverHairs friends. I hope all members take advantage of this platform to develop the social network. As we grow older, having some good friends to spend time together at activities and leisure is worth looking ahead.

I expect the Velocity food court on the 3rd floor will be just as crowded. I hope we can all be calm and have our own chitchats, find our own interest groups.

The Club is formed to encourage social networking. Sometimes, for whatever the reason, fair or unfair, right or wrong, we do disagree, and may argue or fight with one another. I can only encourage calm chitchats, after all we are over 45.

I must admit I am terribly sensitive to anti-social behaviour, and have to say I would not accept a minute of disruptions at any club gatherings. For members, who are argumentative, highly responsive, always insisting the right of way, unable to keep cool, sociable and considerate, please do not come to any of Club gatherings.

In short, it also means I will take appropriate action if disruptions do happen.

Let’s respect one another. My apology for these words, and do remember I am sensitive to anti social behaviour.

Plse enjoy the evening get together.

  9. Well to be perfectly honest, in my humble opinion, of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, but also by looking into this matter in a different perspective and without being condemning of one’s view’s and by trying to make it objectified, and by considering each and every one’s valid opinion, I honestly believe that I completely forgot what I was going to say.

1 People will always spread rumours about u. People always cause you drama involving you.

But the only thing you can do is rise above them and smile.

2 People will always notice the change in your attitude towards them , but will never notice it’s their behaviour that made u change.

3 Arguing with stupid people is like trying to kill the mosquito on your cheek.
You may or may not kill it , but you will slap yourself

N.B. There is no greater wealth in this world than peace of mind.

See you later, let enjoy a wonderful begin of 2019   OUR SHC 1ST  MONTHLY  GATHERING.

    CHEER !

    Apologies only my 2 cts

    STELLA

    Cheer.
