Feb 2011 Monthly gathering

Hi, all SHC members,

Hope everyone had a memorable CNY, and hope everyone enjoyed huat, huat, huat  in different ways! Perhaps you had a chance to meet up with family/friends whom you have not met in a while, or maybe you collected some winnings at mahjong, 4D, etc. Or maybe you gained a kg or 2 from all that delicious CNY goodies.  Wishing everyone continue to huat ah!

It’s time for all SHC members to meet up at the old, familiar place :

1.      Date: Tuesday, February 22, 2011
2.      Time : 5.30 pm – 9 pm
3.      Place  : Han’s Café, Great Eastern Centre, 1 Pickering St. #01-03 (nearest MRT Chinatown)
4.      Dress : Smart Casual

Food : You can order and pay for any item from the Han’s counter.

Do use your SHC name tag if you have one.  If you don’t have one, it’s ok – a sticky label will be made for you.  If you know of any quiet or shy SHC member, do inform him/her and invite him/her to February monthly gathering.  Maybe they have no computer access, or maybe they do not know the easiest way to get to Han’s Café.  Let’s all share funtimes with them too.

The February monthly gathering is a good time to catch up with old friends, meet new friends, plan your hobbies group, share your views/ experience with the proposed new SHC platform – phpBB-based forum, talk about Prom Night, Full Moon Party, dancing, cycling, bowling, badminton, how to be like Venus, weekly or monthly stays in  retirement in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Hangzhou, Chiangmai, Phuket, Kunming, Bangkok, Hainan Farmstay, with vivacious Geraldine Ting, and/or funnyman Tian Soo,and/or easy-going Terence, etc. etc. any other interests, ideas, suggestions.
Looking forward to meet you all. emoticon

  1. Hi YatSing,
I have removed all the MS word codes that are embedded in the Post. This will speed up accessing the Post.

This must have prevented a number of members from registering early. You make the decision.

  2. Hi Terence, YatSing and all other members of SHC…a HAPPY HEALTHY and WEALTHY bunny year ahead. I was not able to go to this SHC site the last several days. My desktop PC (and notebook) “hung up” each time I clicked on this site address. I am not sure whether others have had the same experience.

Anyway, long time no see. I shall be at Han’s on 22 Feb.

  3. Hi YatSing,
Both Sam and me will be attending this gathering.

I am here that there will be others coming also but was not able to post comments due 2 some unforeseen situation.

Cheers n Happy Chinese New Year… Dolly

  5. Wishing all SHC members a very Hoppy Chinese New Year!

Hi Terence, Judy, Thomas, Daniel, Sam, Dolly, Janie and Cheng Pun.
Thank you for registering for Feb monthly gathering; I look forward to meet you all. This year 2011, I want to get to know at least 10 more SHC members. :-)

Chapgohmeh (15th day of lunar new year), on Feb 17th, is considered to be the Chinese Valentine Night. Here is a good 2nd chance for us all to show our romantic side (if u missed Feb 14)! ;-)
    A smile/a touch/a kiss/a red rose/paper rose/picture of a rose……

    Cheers!

  19. Hi, all you nice people at Feb 2011 monthly gathering,

I am so glad you all made it to social get-together last evening. Thank you for giving everyone a chance to meet you.

Thanks, Debbie and Jazz Soh, for helping in registration, and Boon Liang, Richard Wong, Stephen Low, and Bobby Bok for the Jackpot game, and Sam Huat for putting up the SHC banner. :-)

  20. Hi Dolly #50
Thanks for informing the attendees about the picking of a pair of spectacle at Hans. I am the forgetful owner and will collect it from Hans on Sat morning. Cheers
    Robert

  21. Robert-O, I dont think Hans cafe will have any spectacles to give you.

If you push them very hard, they might grudgingly oblige you with a half-cooked spaghetti & asparagus. They will call the polis if you still insist they keep yr spectacles……….becos they dont.

I believe the Cafe Dolly-L has in mind is ah Seah’s Bra. On a lucky day, you will find yr specs hanging between 2 F-bras belonging to him.

  22. Hi Tim
It is good to note that you have re-surfaced after you have been hibernated like a bear during winter or spending as a recluse in a retreat or a monastery-whichever is applicable perhaps to seek some enlightenment.
In any case, the SHC world needs people like you and others to keep it go round.
As for my spectacles I have proposed to Dolly to pass it to me on Sat at a clubhouse hall where we will dance to the soft music of the waltz or the tumultuous tempo of the Cha Cha. If you are tempted to gatecrash, I am afraid that under the watchful eye of Daniel-O, you will have to be admitted as a spectator only unless you are his buddy.

  23. Robert-O, so at long last and finally, you know where yr pair of spectacles is and that’s very good news to start the Year with.

I am always on the surface, belly-up somemore, floating all over Spore waters. Enlightenment for me? Thanks but no thanks. Prince S’money shed the princely for the frock. If I do shed, I wd be like a naked frog.

Cos I am straight, monasteries arent for me. Am thinking of building a nunnery and recruiting nuns who hv buns to make nans after morning chants. Pls ensure that yr glasses are with you when I call to invite you to its openhouse. Open blouse wont be smthg yr glasses will miss.

Yes, am mulling how to danz but wont crash into the arms of Daniel-O or the studio where he conducts his classes. Will stake out and ambush everyone leaving and make them belly dancers in my nunnery. I will offer you, my butty, the role of arranger of the dances. The smart you will know what more can be done. So, have yr glasses ready.

    Heheee…………….

  24. Hi Yat Sing
I thank you for your hospitality and in introducing me to the fellow members. You have made me feel comfortable. It’s nice getting to know you and other members.

    Hi Caroline
It’s nice to be able to meet up with you.

    Also, many thanks to:
Jane Kee for the short origami lesson. I am still keeping your “name card”.
Thomas Lau for your company and for imparting two card tricks to me.
Richard Wong for your company too.

  25. Hi Sockie
Have not seen you in SHC events lately because I seldom participate.
I have taken some photos of the above and have sent to you on 23 Feb. I am afraid the email did not reach you. If so please let me know,I will resend.
    Thanks very much.
