Emeleen Soh – Intro

I am 63 yeaars old widow and retired about a year and half ago…..but the bank I was retired from do occassionaly call me to temp for them when the need arise.(this is good, yes earn extra pocket money).

I do some voluntary work at the church I attend and sometimes at my Community House (EA).  Miss hubby very much, yes it’s almost 2 years…… but then life goes on I guess. I live with my married son and his wife, who is a lovely person and very good to me.

I have a daughter, but she works and lives in Australia, When she buys me a ticket, I go over and have a couple of weeks over there, otherwise she comes to Singapore during Christmas, or if she wants to take a break (Thank Goodness for Budget Airlines!!!) I also have another boy, he’s 24years, no not married….lives with us.

I thank God every day that all is well and I consider myself very blessed.

Best regards, Emeleen

  1. Emeleen, welcome – I am just as “new” though being “silenced” for the past years.

I know how you feel about the loss of your loved ones, whether one year or ten years, the pain will still be there.

My mum and dad who passed off within 7 mths apart, one wound is not heal before the next one kicks in, just like someone rubbing salt into your wound. You know how painful it is.

But one thing for sure, though they are gone, they still lives in our heart, we will never or ever forgets them.

You are indeed very blessed to have two good grown up children.

    See ya soon :)

  2. Hello Emeleen,

Welcome to SHC. What a wonderful introduction. I feel i already know you! :) Hope to see you asap in one of the many activities in the club.

    Best regards.

  3. Hi Emeleen!

    What a lovely name!

    Welcome to the club.

    We have some similarities –

In my younger days, I was in the banking industry for many years.

My daughter and her husband works and lives in Melbourne. Yes – “thank goodness for budget airlines” – I get to visit them more often, and to play with my grandchildren.

I like what you wrote: “I thank God every day that all is well and I consider myself very blessed.”

Like yourself – I feel blessed, as life has turned out better than I expected. I couldn’t ask for more.

I am not a “religious” person. But my son is. He is 31, still unmarried, active in church activities. He was the “youth club president” for many years, and leads bible study classes.

I look forward to catch up with you at one of the SHC events.

    Cheers,
    Jacqueline
