Failure to verify SHC membership

Hi everybody,

SilverHairsClub has a simple membership application process. So, sometimes, we have many Philip’s, Susan’s, etc.

Therefore, members should personally register to participate in activities, using their own login. However, sometimes a member may register on behalf of another member. If we are not sure, if a participant is a member, we will request the participant to contact admin@SilverHairsClub.com .

Some members feel this is a chore and will reduce or affect new membership application, if we make the process more complicated.

I hope members will understand tracking membership is not an easy job, considering the process is simple.

SilverHairsClub will continue with this simple membership process. At the same time, members who bring participants into activities, and refuse to get unverified names checked, will now be taken off our membership. There will be no reminder, as request to contact admin will be published on this forum.

If you are one of those affected by the above, please take steps to follow up quickly. Fairy godmother is very angry.

  1. Hi Terence

Although I’ve been in SHC for a couple of years, I still do not know who ‘fairy godmother’ is. Wd appreciate if you could enlighten me.

    Thank you.

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriella

  2. Aiyah Gabriella, your comment is under moderation which mean the fairygodmother may torn you into an imp!

Really he is none other than our Indian chief here to ensure that taboo are not committed here on the post otherwise he may wield a wand and presto you may just disappear into thin air.

    Dan

  3. Hi Dan #2

Thanks for the info. kekeke, I’m really tickled that our Indian Chief calls himself ‘fairy godmother’.

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriella

  4. Wow Terence

My comment to Gabriella is awaiting moderation. Hmmmmm.

Nonetheless, just to say that I understand your frustration when 45vers and above find it ‘inconvenient’ or ‘troublesome’ to verify membership.

Your decision to remove their membership is right on. As far as I am concerned, joining this club is a simple process and certainly signing up for activities/events is just as simple unless they have problem logging on and have to ask members to help.

    Chill.

  5. Dan, find me a male mother and a female Terence and only then can I show you a g’mother Terence.

So who is this fatty g’mother ? She is easy to find.

Go look for our very own friendly amiable fatty. Next to him is this gal who lovingly holds him by the ear.

  6. Yes Geraldine
I fully agree with your point @ #5 : “Your decision to remove their membership is right on. As far as I am concerned, joining this club is a simple process and certainly signing up for activities/events is just as simple unless they have problem logging on and have to ask members to help”. Those who have problem to login can easily get help from: admin@SilverHairsClub.com

    Who is the fairy g’mother?
    Dan – you are right.
    Tim – you are wrong.

  7. I was not correct? So a mother is male and Terence is female?

It follows from this logic, warped and weird, that the Lily with 1 Ho is female and the Lily with 2 Hos is male. I’d like to see it to believe.

Seriously, in the early days when I wrote a lot on this forum, i used the terms “fairy” and “g’mother”. It cd have struck Terence to put them together and so “fairy g’mother” was born.

It’s an essential term, as much as it is a necessary tool. Sometimes SHCians unwittingly cross the OB markers, and will have to be yellow-flagged and reminded.

That the role of FG has to be assumed by her is a natural progression by virtue of her appointment. I dont see anythg wrong in there altho it’s nice to be less caustic with SHCians who genuinely didnt know, or are new to the Club.

It’s easier to assume authority than to discharge it. So far, whoever you think this FG is or is not, I think she has done well.

  8. Hi Steven, Geraldine,

Fairy Godmother has not changed a bit. Just getting older. Normally, she is not disturbed, until someone fails or refuses to adhere to the rules.

Usually, when a comment or Post is automatically sent to the moderation queue, it can be due to a few reasons. One, the words or phrase may not be acceptable. Secopnd, new comers tend to get their comment and post moderated the first time. Third, registration on behalf of members who have not entered the club, tend to get moderated too.

Thank you for supporting fairy godmother.

  9. Hey Terence

Getting older but wiser, rite, darling?

Yes, once whisky fairy is disturbed by rule breakers she gets reeli mad. Totally. Understandable.

As a fellow woman naturally I’ll support our whisky fairy’s decision, whatnots, to keep this club running smoothly.

p/s am thinking of being an EO. Still mulling. Will let you know once I have decided to go ahead. Interested?

  10. When comments are written, they go through the same routine.

    1. And autocheck. If the comment is in anyway linked to the club’s taboos, that comment will be put on the moderation queue. This comment may be released if the comment is deemed acceptable. If not, it will be deleted.

    2. Comments with names of unknown persons may also be routed to the moderation queue. The best way to resolve this is for the unknown person to write to admin@silverhairsclub.com.

This serves as a reminder. As we get older, we never know what we may forget. Have fun.
