SHC D&D – Why I am in the mood?

Some 25 years ago, I was in London, and on a number of weekends, I used to visit the discotheques at Leicester Square.  With the coming of the D&D, I suddenly got into the mood this morning to share with you two songs, which I had linked to YouTube.  The first time, you listen to it, the quality is not good.  On your speakers, and listen to it the second time.

  1. Dancing Queen – by Abba.  Click here.
  2. Saturday Night Fever – Dancer John Travolta.  Click here.

Feel free to share your favourites, before the D&D.  Share with fellow SilverHairs your mood.

  1. Aiyah, Rene, we guys are all very modest and certainly dont like to show off. But if you come for the games day, you’ll get to see a bit more of our hair when we wear the singlets……but sorry hor, you wont get the see the black, shiny luxuriant hair that even a panther will be shamed into bowing its head & running away with its tail btwn the legs.

    Or maybe you’ll get lucky??

  2. Hello,

Ah Pek(s), all potak liao, how to let the hair down. Put on the char kia instead. More vibrant and beat to the like of fire cracker with Lion (line) dance.

  3. Terence. We are all eagerly looking forward to see your John Travolta dancing .

Bring back the beautiful memories of the 1980s’ when disco dancing rule the world by storm. “Saturday Night Fever”

Guys, let your hair down and be Travoltas for a night. So start practising your boogie steps now.

    Night fever………. Night fever

    Steven

  4. Yes, Cyeo, precisely, think it’s good if fellow members cd come into this forum to chat, express, vent & ventilate themselves in any manner, language they are comfortable with. For sure, if we need to be serious, we will, otherwise, it’s dumb to be glum.

  5. Haha, that’s quite correct so for those bor heng lui, I will point them to chomp chomp nearby and say, ke hek peng jiak, ka pee lei but bo lucky draw hor………

  6. Hahaha!!

Ah Liu kena stand at door and not only stop gate-crashers from coming in, he also got to check and see if SHC member pay up alreddy or not!

“Tao chew, ah! Lu heng lui buay? Lu uu receet boh?”

  7. Ronald, bo liao lah, ah liu kena bounce out bcos somebody thinks bouncer must do body-check and she is scared kena gucci gucci. So ah liu will find somebody’s laps to bounce on.

Now the worry is not gate-crash but late-cash. As of today, some 25 members must hv overlooked their payment which is due this wkend, and that no payment will be accepted on the function nite.

  8. With John Travolta attending the SHC’s D&D, Tim Liu(the Bouncer of the night) please be at the party early, early…..hor, to prevent “gate crash”. Right? Tim.

  9. Dancing Queen – for the ladies
Saturday Night Fever – for the man

    Terence! YOU ASKED FOR IT.
OK. We shall GIVE IT TO YOU. John Travolta for SHC’s D&D night.

Highlights of the night, we present our renowned John Travolta in motion, body and two legs shaking in the rhythm of the right beat and mood.

(Terence, in order to keep you in the correct steps, I am sending you the steps-sheet under separate cover. So, don’t look for excuses.)

  10. In a sense, that Char Kiak man is iconic and they might make him stand at the river mouth in place of the merlion which can do no more than spouting water, mechanically.

Haha, so you bought 2 fresh crabs home. Mind you, crabs can be very naughty and if you go home now, you might see them lying on yr bed peeling yr pillows for fun. Sure, ah liu will juggle them to dizzy heights on D&D nite if they continue to be that naughty.

Wrong. It shd be ah liu papa. Wrong again. In the modern version, Terence will provide 100 chameleons for each of the 100 guests at the D&D to take home to frighten their neighbours.

Thanks, Kenneth & Veron, for standing with me to make this old folks’ forum young & more funky.

  11. Dolly and team have all the program secrets inside their sleeves.

I always like the element of disorganisation in a party. It’s fun. So, let’s be surprised.

    Terence

  12. From Ah liu to Ah Li Baba. Better than a chameleon. Terence can provide more than 100 thieves hor!
Ah beng and ah lian sure no forget the first D&D.

  13. Tim, by coincidence I saw the Char Kiak man at Hong Lim today after partaking of my weekly char kway teow and buying home two fresh crabs..

Which brings to mind that you can really spice up your act by juggling three crabs without their ties so their pincers can clack like castanets. Add the ABBA Dancing Queen and dance steps a la SHC line dancers. Hey, you’re Singapore’s Michael Flatley version of Riverdance!

Wow, maybe I should attend the D&D just to see this!

  14. Hey Terence,

I used to do the same thing too. Every weekend, I would either go to a disco or catch a play at the West End. At that time, one particularly memorable song kept being played on the airwaves and the song title ‘Afternoon Delight’. So are we expecting a John Travolta getup for you and that famous dance step? Can’t wait to see !

  15. You ABBA, I ali baba, Terence papa-n-mama, Patrick come with bananas and Yew Kwong semua-pun-ada…………..wow, like that, who can beat us with a better D&D?

  16. Cheers !! I’ll be there for YOU (All fans of
ABBA) on the D&D nite with my ABBA GOLD GREATEST
HITS for your listening pleasure and a happy evening reminiscing abt ….
