Terence Seah – Profile

Let me start first with my profile.

I am 50 yrs, male, divorced and now married, one 7 yr son, wife and son both Thai citizens.  Lives in Bangkok, but spend a number of days a month in Singapore.

Career-wise, 25 years in newspaper production and newspaper consultancy and 6 years in the callcentre and conference business.

Loves travelling with small groups to remote and quiet areas, likes swimming and some golf.  Social drinker, loves Black Label whisky with soda, any kind of beer and diet coke.

My hope is to form a successful Silverhairsclub for Singaporeans, over 45 years, with the aim of providing a platform for people to meet and make new friends.  Hopefully, some members will settle down in Thailand while others will find more meaningful silverhairs years.

My interests are elearning, and benefit from a borderless world.

  1. Hi Terence,

Thanks for starting this wonderful club and to promote these activities. I enjoy most things under the sun and would love to visit Thailand, play golf, and travel. I have made some travel plans in the very near future, including one to Thailand, maybe we can meet you as one of our attractions, to see a Singaporean like you have adjusted living in Thailand and surely to learn more about their culture too. Appreciate if you can drop us some info, at my email bswi@yahoo.com .

  2. Hi Terence,

Thanks for your BRILLIANT idea to set up SHC
which is needed to fill a vacuum for those are 45 yrs. and above. Thanks for also being so sporting to start the swim.

I had read your interesting members’ profile and very happy to know that some of the members in SHC do share similar interests or hobbies as mine.

I am an ex-MOE retired teacher with several sec.schools .I was fully occupied pursuing stuff which I’ve always wanted to do but couldn’t when I was engaged in my teaching profession.

My interests are travelling, swimming, badminton, jogging, gymnasium cooking. However, my greatest passion is gardening and taking care of my pet dog chow chow who loves to walk every morning.

For those who are pet lovers or others with same interests, sports or hobbies as mine , pls.email Steven Chan, sfc0007@yahoo.com.sg to share our similar interests.

I enjoy the potluck party on the
13/Jan /2007 at ECP and socialising in a more informal atmosphere and metso many new friends who are so friendly.

I love to eat Thai hot and spicy food esp.the green curry, tom yam soup, chicken feet or mango salad, fried chilli garoupa and mango/glutinous mango/durian rice.

As I had a lot of time since retirement , I recently took up cooking for a more HEALTHY living rather than always eating outside food.

By cooking on my own ,I can regulate the amount of salt, sugar or Aji No moto to put in the dish and the money saved to buy more expensive ingredients and herbs.

My favourite Japanese dishes are Unagi
(BBQ eel ),raw fresh salmon and tempura fried vegetables.

Besides, I also love to eat Vietnames beef noodles and their fresh skin popiah.

I had travelled to many places like U.S.A.,Europe,Thailand,Malaysia,Korea,China Phuket,Taiwan, Bali,Australia, Yogjakarta to see the famous Borobodur Buddhist Monastery -one of the 7 wonders of the world and the Grand Canyon in Utah.

However, the country that gives me the greatest impression is the scenic beauty of New Zealand.

No wonder, all the beautiful sceneries of the “Lord of the Rings” are all taken in NZ. Everything here is natural and citizens here are warmth and friendly.

10 yrs.ago, it was Phi Phi island.
I sat down on the beach and admired the beautiful paradise island with its emerald green sea water , fine white sandy beaches and tall cocconut trees swaying in the wind.

Nowadays, with the rapid development of hotels and other facilities at Phi Phi island ,the beach front has been “SPOILT” by the 10 or more huge ferries that berth on the beach to embark/disembark tourists. I was lucky enough to survive the Tsunami.

My next destination is Vietnam to see its old world charm before it gets too modern.

I like to participate in SHC activities for nature lovers like Mac Ritchie resv.ot tree top walk or West Coast Park, gardening, nature conservation .

Finally, I had volunteered to give tuition to the Children ‘s society on an ad hoc basis. It is one of my ways to repay back to society.

Pls. contact Steven Chan email address at

  3. Hi Terence,

Could you pls.post my comment shown in the Members’ profile ? That is what I had targeted at but find NO way to post it and so I went to your comment column but it is NOT the appropriate place for members’ profile.

    Thanks
    Steven Chan at sfc0007@yahoo.com.sg

  4. Sometimes, you may try to contact me on my mobile telephone. Do note that I usually do not answer the phone because I am likely to be travelling.

Ideally, the best and fastest way to catch hold of me is to participate on this forum, followed by email or SMS. Sorry for any inconvenience.

  5. Hi everybody,

I haven’t been very communicative this month, and may not have responded your voice calls or SMS. Kind of stuck in Bangkok and my travels. To ensure, you get a reply from me, please send me emails instead. Better still, write on this forum, you can be sure I will read it. Have fun, stay young and keep healthy.
