Soon, it will be Singapore’s National Day 2013

Where will you be during National Day?  This time, it looks like we have a long weekend, and many members will be away with friends and families.  Many Singaporeans will also be here, and trying to get a glimpse of the parade, either on TV or try to get a seat infront of the parade.  Others would try to find a place to see the fireworks.

I read in the papers you can get a room at the Trafalgar Hotel for SGD 800 a night.  Still others can find a place at some rooftops facing the marina bay.  I thought the Marina Bay food court with a good frontage, facing the bay, is also good, until somebody told me I have to queue from 3pm.  And, maybe cannot sit too long.

Do you have an office facing the bay? or some secret hideout, not known to many people. Share with us where you will be on National Day night.

Which National Day song do you like? and we will play for you and your friends.

  1. This year I will be joining the crowd at the bayfront with my family to celebrate our nation 48 birthday. We will be receiving the same goodie bag with goodies, ‘light-saber’, discount booklet to the Bird Park, Zoo and more. Not to miss the fireworks this year. Staying back to watch Mickael Bellemene and our own trio Flame of the Forest perform. With complimentary to the Avalon Club after 10pm we will party to past midnight.

May each one of us Stay Healthy, Happy and Live for many years to come.

    Happy Birthday Singapore!

  2. Wow johnny.. U so lucky to get tickets.

I cant get tickets..but still want to see the fireworks live.
I will attempt to brave the crowds…. And try to find a space at the esplanade.

Anyone brave enough to join me?

    Cheers..lydia chin

  3. Oops, oops and oops! I have inadvertently created another running commentary, intending for this one. Sorry folks, just ignore that. Suaku lah, found the website very complicated, don’t know where to write, and when finally thought I got it right, I got it wrong!!

But really, I am appreciative of the extensive groundwork done by Yew Kwong. Thanks Mister….

ps. Enjoy yourselves, Susan and friends!

  4. Hi Lydia,
Let me know if you going next year. May able to get tickets one month before National day. You should able to manoeuvre your way through the crowd without your dancing shoe. :)

    Enjoy and be happy!. :)

  5. Hi johnny… Yes next yr pls get ticket for me.

Where is the best place to view the fireworks. With the least crowd. And what time should i be there.

  6. Maybe can try less popular spot like Indoor Stadium Waterfront Promenade. Is further then Marina Bay but unblocked. Here no ticket required so can go anytime before 6pm to watch the fireworks.

    Stay Healthy! Be Happy! :)
