Eco Cycling Adventure – Kuching (early Nov 213)

It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them.  Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle~Ernest Hemingway

Are you looking for a cycling holiday with a distinct difference?

Green on Bikes!!! Nothing is quite like touring on bike for an ecological, cultural, culinary and experiential experience!!!!

Indeed, Sarawak – From pristine underwater marine life and untouched coral reefs to rich heritage and from wilderness to modern city landscape, Sarawak is a potpourri of experiences appreciated by travelers from all over the world. Head into Sarawak’s interiors and your heartbeat will flutter at the fascinating and enchanting dances of the multi-ethnic tribes living harmoniously with each other.

We energize with a team with the best of local knowledge and an insatiable passion for cycling to envision and provide adventurous experience.  With moderate, achievable riding on charming small roads through village communities and lots of local interaction, you will have a chance to learn about the country and the people who live here. Food is a highlight.

Fortunately, cycling offers a low-impact form of physical activity that appeal to a wide range of the population. As long as you’re reasonably fit and familiar with your own limits, you’re a good candidate for a cycling adventure.

Therefore, we are planning a series of cycling adventures in 2014 and the inaugural program is in early November 2013.

  1. To be advised, This program is very much for the interest of cyclists. The distance from city to Fairy Cave is 55km and to Lan-E-Tuyang is 25km. Next day back to hotel 25km

  2. Hi Malcolm,

Perhaps you should confirm the cycling distances.

I think the distance on the second day is 55kms to the Fairy Caves and another 25kms to Lan E Tuyang Home Stay where we will be staying for the night.

Next day ride back to Kuching town to stay Riverside Majestic Hotel, a distance of 25kms.

BTW what is CMPC? You said that after breakfast in Lan E Tuyang, we will cycle to CMPC and then to Kuching Town. I think, subject to your confirmation, that the distance, overall is 25kms?

    Cheers,

  3. Charles Great for joining this trip

Yes the distance to Fairy Cave is 55 km and from the cave to Lan-E-Tuyang is 25 km. Overnight will be at Lan-E-Tuyang home stay.
CMPC – is a historical site on Mount Singai and is about 2km from Lan-E-Tuyang. the distance to Riverside is 25 km +-
    Speed is 15-20kph

  4. Elaborate more on Day 4
After breakfast at home stay, commence cycling through the village roads to Mt Singai – CMPC is a historical site. Although one needs to walk up the steps for more than 30 minutes, but upon getting to the center with a chapel, longhouse, and amphitheatre et cetera, the feeling of fresh air and lush, green scenery that surrounds the place greets you with a calm and peaceful feeling. All you hear is the sound of the small jungle creatures that was left to live undisturbed. Perhaps may find durian too. Then continue cycling journey through scenic roads and stop for lunch (own account). After lunch continue cycling to Riverside Majestic hotel – check in relax and freshen up and go for seafood dinner.
