Reading an entire article also prevents you from becoming a victim of click bait and fake news.

Here’s something I wanna share with you guys.

Yesterday, I went to the supermarket with the prudence dictated by the new normal. Mask, Safe entry and safety distance.

I then started to get the things that were on my short list, and when I was lining up to pay, between taking the money and storing the phone, the $50 note I had to pay fell on the floor, and the man who was in front of me finishing paying his purchases slowly bent down and picked up my note.

Woww, How much education and kindness in these pandemic times – I thought. I held out my hand, waiting for him to give me back my money, trying to stay away, so that he would feel safe, while preparing to thank him for the gesture.

But suddenly, what he told me was shocking – What’s on the floor belongs to whoever finds it! – and just like that, he left … naturally, as if he hadn’t done anything wrong.

I looked at the lady behind me and the people next to me and they all looked at me in shock and disbelief, whispering things between them.

For a moment there, I was trying to evaluate myself. I wanted to do justice on my own … I left my purchases, because I had no way to pay (I forgot to bring my credit card), and went after him to the carpark, to have my $50 returned.

However, I realized that the people closest to the line came after me, curious to know what was going to happen …

I spoke to him demanding my money but he just looked at me with contempt and acted like I was invisible.

When he got to the car, he slowly put his two shopping bags on the floor to take the key out of his pocket and open the trunk, and I thought – It’s now or never!

I took the two bags and told him the same thing he had said to me – What is on the floor belongs to those who find it! – and I started running towards the exit, between fright and laughter, proud of my revenge.

The spectators started to applaud and I saw that the “smart guy” had been irritated after all, as he left the parking lot dropping security cones in his path.

I swear I felt a rush of adrenaline, fright and nervousness, but then I cried with laughter.

When I got home I opened the bags and found:

  • 2 kg shrimp
  • 1 kg of salmon
  • ham, cheese and yogurt of two flavors
  • whole grain bread
  • 1 bottle of white wine
  • 2 bottles of red wine
  • 2 jars of strawberry jam
  • 2 kg of very good quality salami
  • 1 jar of mayonnaise

I had never made so many purchases with only $50.

And now here I am … Having a glass of wine, eating and thinking as I write – am I a vigilante or a vindictive person?

HAVE YOU READ THIS UNTIL HERE?
This obviously did not happen to me. It’s just a campaign to promote reading!

Reading stimulates the mind and imagination, makes us travel to other places and even helps communication.

No Age Limit: 4 Reasons Seniors Should Train Martial Arts

Staying active is important to people in their 50’s, 60’s or even 70’s. The body starts to weaken during these years, especially when seniors get trapped into the sedentary lifestyle.

As we age, our bodies become brittle. The importance of daily activity cannot be more emphasized by this fact. It is vital to consider engaging in activities that will keep us as active as our bodies will allow to ensure that we stay healthy and physically fit to avoid any future illness that could prevent us from living a higher quality of life in our later years.
During a time in their lives when they become free from the pressures of the daily grind as they enter the retirement stage, seniors must focus on health now more than ever. Of course, physical limitations and health considerations need to be addressed before engaging in this type of activity. But the beauty of martial arts is that it is for everyone, no matter the age, and can be tailor-made to suit anyone of any fitness level.

Martial arts training is becoming popular with people in this age bracket. Like most people, seniors turn to martial arts for the same reasons such as improved physical fitness and mental alertness. But more than that, martial arts is an activity that seniors choose to undertake to discover how far their physical capabilities can take them while learning something new.
Today, four reasons martial arts is the perfect fitness activity for seniors.

1) Martial arts helps sustain mental health
It is a fact that there is a direct link between keeping active and maintaining mental alertness. For seniors, however, the brain does not function as quickly or as healthily as it did during the younger years. They tend to experience worse reaction time and become less sharp.
The practice of martial arts is an activity that can significantly reduce these effects of aging. Through constant practice of reflexive routines required by training, seniors are able to maintain mental alertness. It is not just a set of techniques learned and practiced in the gym a few times a week, but rather, it becomes a lifestyle that seniors learn to adopt as a way to maintain physical and mental discipline.
The brain is a muscle that needs to be exercised just as much as other muscles within the body. Martial arts allows seniors to not only engage in an activity that stimulates their mental capacities but also strengthens and conditions their physical capabilities as well. It can be anything they choose to make it because it allows them to participate up to their comfort level.

2) Martial arts develops new friendships and builds a community

As people enter the retirement stage, their circle of friends tends to decrease. They no longer need to go to work regularly where they are in constant connection with their workmates and colleagues. Enrolling in martial arts allows them to make and build new friendships with people that share the same interests.
A community of like-minded people determined to stay physically fit and healthy is motivation enough for seniors to pursue this activity that will inspire them to push themselves to their limits.  It could come as a surprise for seniors to know that martial arts training gives them a social environment similar to that which can be found in other social activities.
New friendships developed through the regular practice of martial arts inspire and motivate people to stick to their routines. They help each other in times when the will to push through adversity is low.
Being part of a group of people who aim to achieve similar goals in terms of physical and mental fitness is a great advantage when seniors choose to enroll in martial arts. Furthermore, the social engagement enhances the workout and training as opposed to a regular gym membership that requires them to perform exercises on their own.

3) Martial arts keeps your body healthy

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is one of the most popular martial arts courses for seniors due to its aerobic benefits. Grip strength and hip mobility decrease past the age of 50 and BJJ specifically develops these through routines that are advantageous to seniors. This is just one of the benefits of engaging in martial arts for this age group.
Keeping active no matter how you choose to do so ensures that your body stays in tip-top shape but doing it through martial arts makes the activity more interesting and encourages one to remain faithful to their daily routine.
The idea of keeping oneself physically fit through martial arts gives you a sense of accomplishment while placing your bodily functions in check. Burning fat, maintaining healthy cardiovascular health, and improving muscle tone helps you avoid common illnesses that are almost always present as you age, such as arthritis, high blood pressure, diabetes, osteoporosis, and heart disease.

4) Martial arts reverses or slows down aging

Martial arts slows down the aging process and prevents the development of age-related diseases.
As we age, our body experiences major changes in our balance, strength, posture, flexibility, and endurance. The main cause of these is mostly through inactivity.
Balance declines over time as your muscles tighten and become weaker. Your physical strength is also affected and could lead to muscle atrophy. A study conducted on men and women over 90-years old revealed that after six weeks on a specific routine or exercise regimen, the participants achieved an almost 200 percent increase in strength.
Poor posture is one of the major shifts our body experiences over time. Through martial arts training, one is required to execute forms and techniques that guarantee improved posture that could help in the prevention of osteoporosis.
A loss in the body’s collagen structure is a consequence of the aging process. Muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments, and other connective tissue become stiffer and as a result, decreasing the body’s flexibility. Likewise, the difficulty one encounters as they perform even the simplest of physical activities is a sign of reduced endurance that comes with age.
With regular martial arts training, the chance to increase your heart rate and lung capacity leads you to much-improved endurance. Overall, martial arts training can ultimately reverse or slow down the signs of aging, which is something we should all strive for.

When you put in the work towards a long term goal, you pick up life lessons that apply to areas of your life that are unrelated to your pursuit. You are forced to cultivate discipline…

Welcome 2020

Things I Learned (Again) In 2019:

At the end of every year, I like to reflect deeply on the year and write down some of my key lessons on life. For 2019, most of these learnings are recurring ones, and some of them are new.

1) People are inherently good.

I experienced so much kindness, love, and support from family, friends, acquaintances, fans, athletes, and even strangers in 2019. Do not let the bad apples in this world taint your belief in humanity. Of course, there are bad apples everywhere, but they are the rare minority. Humans are good. There really is goodness in everyone. I think it is important to remember that everyone was once a baby. Babies are born with purity, innocence, and goodness in their hearts. This essence is innate in all of us. I truly believe it.

2) Grit is everything.

The person who is willing to endure the most suffering for his/her dreams is the one who is most likely to achieve them. It does not matter what career it is, or what the goals are. The difference between success and failure in life is a very, very, very thin line. No matter who you are, life will eventually kick you in the ass at some point and make you question everything. What you do in those moments will dictate the trajectory of your life. It is always good to remember that winners never quit, and quitters never win. Never give up on the people and things that you love, especially your dreams. If you are unwilling to fight through the worst days of your life, then you do not deserve the best days of your life.

3) Adversity is the mother of greatness.

Never in a million years would I have believed that my life would be what it is today. I went through so many dark days over the course of my life. I have had many failures, heartbreaks, disapointments, setbacks, and tears. I have also had opportunities to quit on myself when I was down and out, but I somehow always got back up (often through the help of family and friends). Today, I look back on all of the toughest days of my life with so much gratitude and appreciation. Without those days, I would not have achieved the success I have today. You see, adversity teaches us what no university degree can. It teaches us the critical ingredients to success: humility, strength, hunger, grit, compassion, intellectual honesty, tenacity, work ethic, courage, learning, growth, and so much more.

4)When i’m in deep shit…

For those who have choose to badmouth me from the back or abandoned me be it is by silent or personal excuses. Thank you for letting me seeing true colours of your back.

And for those who have choose to stayed by my side given me your full support, strong advise, and stay by my side unconditionally. You know who you are. And i will always remenber your kindness in my heart.

5) No one is perfect.

We all make mistakes. We all fail. We all fall down. Nevertheless, we should always strive to do the right thing. Integrity is the foundation of greatness. Live your life in a way that would make your mom proud – even if she knew your worst moments. I am far from perfect (and I continue to make many mistakes in life, especially due to my nasty temper), but I always think about honoring my good friends in everything I do. Without them, I would never have made it in life. Do the right thing even if no one is watching. I love you, friends ! Thank you for everything.

6) Karma takes care of everything.

Good luck blesses good people. Bad luck curses bad people. I have seen it over and over throughout my life. Over the course of my career, I have had people lie to me, steal from me, cheat me, badmouth me, backstab me, deceive me, betray me, and more. It is easy to become jaded, but I refuse to let these bad apples taint my belief in doing good for the world. No matter what happens, always try to do good in the world.

Good always conquers evil in the long run. Karma always finds a way to bless those who do good and curse those who do bad.

7) Live your passion.

Thank someone in shc inspiring me to be the best version of myself. I am so blessed to train martial arts every day
Without a doubt, the best part of my day is when I am smashing pads and/or rolling on the mats. Martial arts is what I love. Martial arts is who I am.

8) Forgiveness is good for the soul.
Forgive others. Forgive yourself. We all make mistakes. To err is to be human. I wish that I had learned this lesson early in life. Let go of negative energy. Negative energy has a way of corroding your soul if you are not careful. Always seek to see the goodness in others (as much as you seek to see it in yourself).

9) The law of attraction is real.

Surround yourself with happy people who live with gratitude and you will see that your life will be happier too. When you are happy, you attract other happy people. Happiness begets happiness. Positivity begets positivity. And success becomes inevitable. The reverse is also true. Negativity begets negativity. And it is a downward spiral. This is why I do my best to surround myself with dreamers and achievers who live with gratitude and appreciation. We are all simply the average of the 5 people with whom we spend the most time. Choose your inner circle carefully.

10) Love is all we need.

Do what you love with people you love. Fill as many hours of each day with love. For me, success has nothing to do with the size of your house, or how many cars you have, or how big your bank account is. Success is doing what you love every day, and making a positive impact on the world. If you do what you love with people you love, you will be happy. Ultimately, happiness is the greatest barometer of success in life. At the end of the day, we all die. If you have not lived a happy life, you have missed the whole point of life. Nothing remains, except for the impact we make on our loved ones and on the world. Love fearlessly, do good in the world, and everything else will take care of itself.

Let’s make 2020 the greatest year of our lives yet!!! #We Are ONE

Free and Easy 4 days 3 night to Bangkok from 10Jan to 13 Jan 2018

May this Christmas end the present year on a cheerful note and make way for a fresh and bright New Year. Here’s wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! May your Christmas sparkle with moments of love, laughter and goodwill, And may the year ahead be full of contentment and joy.

——-‘xxx—–×××××××——×××××—

Good morning everyone.

I shall be organising 4 day 3 night trip to Bangkok from 10 to 13 Jan 2018.

1 Terence hosting a southern Thai dinner for all participants coming with Stella’s group. Genuine authentic southern Thai food. U are guaranteed to like it.
 Near thonglor BTS train station.

It seems Soi Thonglor is a pretty good spot to indulge in Southern recipes, from the long-established, baan-baan Kua Kling Pak Sod to the cute Phuket Town. Now, the owner has brought his grandparents’ long-popular Mueng Korn (Nakhon Si Thammarat) recipes to this bar-centric district.

This branch boasts a sleek façade with floor-to-ceiling windows covering the two-story venue. Upstairs is for private dining while downstairs reminds us of the green décor of the original branch, but brought up to date with glossy leather chairs. Tall bookshelves run along the walls alongside framed newspaper articles singing praises.

The menu here is well-designed and it seems you can just point at random because every dish we’ve sampled is a must-try. Start with the pad sator kapi goong (stir-fried prawns with sataw beans, B220), which boasts well-rounded flavors thanks to the shrimp paste and fresh and crunchy beans.

The gaeng luaeng pla sam lee (spicy sour soup with black-banded trevally and fermented young bamboo shoot, B180) is an impressive combination of sour and spicy, but we wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who can’t handle a little heat.

Don’t worry, though, they still have plenty of milder options, like the moo kapi (steamed pork in sweet shrimp paste, B180), a delicious blend of sweet and salty. The khua kling moo(herbal, stir-fried pork, B180) is surprising in that it isn’t all that spicy, though it’s still packed full of flavor.

Prices here are slightly more expensive than the original venue, but you’re still bound to get bang for your baht, which explains why the restaurant is packed with in-the-know families during dinner and on weekends.

2 For those who wants to  be Pampered you may join us for full body aromatherapy massage and / or sauna  to ENJOY the luxury of the King and I Sauna.
The cost is reasonable as our Spore currency is strong for such a ” high end ”  spa  environment with excellent facilities.
Masseurs are trained and experienced.
You will slept soundly when the massage therapy was applied on your whole body.

3 We can be naughty. Go where the guys go. And Ballroom and Latin dancing at club.

4 We can visit 1 of the Top best high rise Roof Top Bars or visit to the night club, only the local can go. That was fun… lol

5  And, for those who cannot sleep early, I offer to bring you to Yawarat Chinatown for late night porridge.

6 The Damnoen Saduak Floating Market and Rose Garden.
The Grand Palace or the  Vivamek Summer Mansion building made completely of wood.
The Jim Thompson Silk House etc

Pls take note of the travelling date:
SIN BANGKOK 10 JAN 2018
BANGKOK SIN 13 JAN 2018

December I will be in Spain, Surabaya and Bali.

This trip’s transport will be facilitated by B.T.S.(Same like M.R.T) Those who are interested please registered or msg me at 94593681 and I will add u to my “Bangkok-Discuss” group.

Cheers !

SilverHairsClub has one objective, and that is to provide a platform for SilverHairs over 45 to meet new and more friends. Club does not have the resources to moderate issues between members. I can only advise members to find peaceful means to resolve any differences.

Members who find other members not acceptable in anyway, can choose to leave the Club. I have one philosophy “Stay away from those whom u find distasteful. Don’t let anyone make you unhappy”.
