  1. Comment from Kenneth Tan on 1.1.14 at 12.48 pm:

    “Alamak!
I almost missed this! Time to get wild!
Please put me down for coffee…
I also note that SS is attending… maybe I can talk to him then about his planned trip to Chiang Mai. It could be better than trying to get a word in during the Smartphone battle… er… I mean, discussion.”

I was not aware that I’m not allowed to delete my own post. My apologies for that. Anyway, I’ve kept you informed last night via apps cos you mentioned in your message (signed Terence) that you’ll delete the page today after I’ve put up a new post. You did not advise me that I’m not supposed to delete anything even if it is my own wrong posting. So I thought, I’ll just delete on yr behalf since it is my own post. Have never abused the use of the ‘Edit button’. Actually, the edit button used was Writer’s Edit Button wherein I thought I’m allowed to delete my own wrong posting by sending it to trash. If you have mentioned that the Moderator will delete, I wd of course, have not done it. It wd have saved me some thinking and time. Also, I wish to reiterate that I was not trying to OVERSTEP (words used in your apps message to me this second day of New Year 2014 was rather strong and uncalled for) what you’ve asked the moderator to do.

I’m a person who dares to speak ~ Sori about this.

Anyway, this is a good learning experience.

    Thank you.

  3. Hi Gabriella
Time really flies. It’s nice to meet again in the brand new year. Please count me in for the event. See you there.
    Regards
    Frank

  4. Welcome Frank and Mega to my coffee meet. I’m sure you’ll enjoy the afternoon with fellow members of SHC. Have fun!

    Warmest regards…

  5. Hi Daniel Chan
I’ve received an email from WordPress that you wish to join in the coffee meet. Hence, I’ve counted you in ~ so far, yr message has not come onto the blog. Dunno why.
    Welcome …..

  6. Hi..Gab, it is okay. When there is a video link attachment, the system will embargo it until proven/confirmed that it is ok for mass “consumption”. We should support this move to ensure a healthy forum site. Usually a short wait. Hope you like the attached song. Jeffrey, see you there. hope you like the dancing too.

  7. Hi Daniel
Like your explanation re: the delay in the reception of your comments. Learnt something :-) ~ also tks for attaching such a relevant song for the event. A wonder that I can understand the Chinese lyrics too.

    Jeff Gan
Glad that you can join us ~ ooooo…no need to bring any coffee sachets lah. There’s a wide variety of food, beverages and dessert at the food court ~ just eat/drink whatever you like but at your own expense of course! haha

Looking forward to meeting both of you ….

  8. Gab, I know lah. Just pulling ur leg.
Hi Daniel, Hv not listen to the music n dance yet. Appreciated ur sharing n look forward to c u real soon . Tks!

  9. Hi Peter

I’ve registered for you. Welcome to an afternoon of yak2 with SHCians…

Re: your comments on slow response by system, perhaps SHC Admin can advise?

    Regards.

  10. Hello Ah Nee
TQ, TQ! Yeah, the coffee meet will be fun but there’ll always be another time. No worries. I’ll try and arrange at least once a month?
    Cheerio….

  11. Hi Gabriella! Your event is In the East and I stay in the East.
Please put me down as ‘tentative’ becos I’m having my cataract surgery
tomorrow and hopefully I can be up and about to join your coffee session.

    Cheers
    Ros

  12. Hi Amy Ko

    Hi Rosalind
What a pleasant surprise! Welcome…. and many tks for your support too.
Wishing you all the best for a successful cataract op and a speedy recovery. I’m sure you’ll be up and about in a jiffy. C u on Thursday ~

    Best regards ~

  13. Hi Gabriella,
Can you register me pls. sorry for late registration.
Is anyone here interested in having lunch? I am thinking of introing a charsiew stall in TanjongKatong Rd. if there are any interested I will arrange to meet in Aljunied Mrt at noon. Then we shall drive to the kopishop, have lunch and join for coffee at 2pm.

Pls let me know as my car can only take 3 others.

    Cheers

  14. Hi Paul, Charles Chua and Roland
Tks v much for your support. Most welcome to join in the coffee chat ~ I’m sure you’ll have fun.
    C u all on Thursday.

    CHEERS

  15. Hi Gingko, Paul and Peggy,

Good to have you for lunch. In case you do not want to drive to Aljunied Rd Mrt and back to Tanjong Katong Rd for lunch, the address of the kopitiam is 271, Tanjong Katong Rd. There is a car park behind the row of buildings there. Just turn when you see the Caltex station.

Pls let me know if you are still meeting at the Mrt station or prefer to meet at the kopishop?

If you are meeting at the Mrt, once you come out of the pay turnstiles, there will be two exits, take the LEFT exit. There will be a dead end road right in front of the exit. I will wait there at noon.

I think the duck and charsiew are very good but they are not on any food blog. But there is always a queue. Don’t raise your expectations, because tastes may differ.

  16. Dear all

Thanks to all the supporters of my coffee chat this afternoon. We had a whale of a time, chatting with old friends as well as meeting new ones. Can you believe it? Some even had whiskey on the rocks! (Terence – your loss as Mega was expecting you!). Although the event was supposed to end by 4 pm, some of us continued on until dinner-time. Time really flies when you have good company and camaraderie among friends. What a wonderful afternoon :-)

Another piece of good news ~ Bob Mong is inviting us to SGCC for tea-dance every Tuesday afternoon from 2 – 5. Do let me know if anyone is interested and I’ll inform Bob accordingly.

Take care, stay healthy and be happy ~ till we meet again next month.

    CHEERS….

  17. Hi Gabriella

Thank you for organising the kopi session so efficiently. It was attended by a record number of SHC members living in the East.

We enjoyed the occasion with much warm interactions, which was set in a free, relaxing and friendly atmosphere. Indeed, it was an afternoon of much fun and laughter particularly in the good company of Kristy Quek, Roland Tong, Amy Ko, Peter Lim, Jennifer Lo, Alice Seah and Freddie Heng. Truly, I found the meeting interesting, engaging and informative.

We look forward to attending the next fellowship.

    Frank

  18. Hi Frank
Many thanks for your kind and encouraging comments abt the coffee party yesterday. My greatest satisfaction as an EO is that the participants enjoyed and had a good time. Yes, we’ll have our coffee meet once a month. Please look up for the next meet on the forum page.

    Best regards…

  19. Hi Gabriella, My first time joining your chit chat corner. Seriously enjoying chatting with quite a few familiar faces Firstly, like to thank Mega for the peg of brandy. Good thing Terence did not attend, otherwise your bottle will be gone in no time. Also meeting some of the very interesting guys and learning what is “Direct Wifi”: from Paul Kong. Need to ask for his expertise. Very interesting. Glad to meet Kristy too though I have read her blogs but do not know who she is. Can see she is a warm person. Learns a lot from Daniel too.
Lastly, a big CONGRATULATIONS to Gabriella for a fantastic event which I am sure is the biggest turn out compared to the precious ones. Twenty over SHC members, wow. Please continue to organise and if I am free, will definitely sign up to another great time.Jeffrey

  20. Hi Jeff

Thank you, Xie2….I really appreciate your taking time off from your busy schedule to send in your compliments. Glad that you’ve enjoyed and had fun. The next coffee yak2 will be held in Feb. Look out for the announcement soon.

    Warmest regards….
