Event Organiser “Food Lovers group”

Hi all SHCians,

Our Steven Chan is appointed to be Event Organiser for SHC "Food Lovers group".  He has the task of encouraging food interests among SilverHairsClub members.  From time to time, he may suggest makan outings; but these eatouts shall be on an adhoc basis.

IMembers are also encouraged to invite other members to join them in any food sessions, anywhere in the world.  Go ahead with food tips, cheap and good stalls, etc, etc.  Let your dreams and tastebuds run wild.  Outright advertising not permitted.  Thank you Steven.  Lead on.

  1. Hi Food Lovers,

As the saying goes… Variety is a spice of life and this applies to food too.

Just a gentle reminder for those who had missed my earlier post on food.

Charcoal BBQ & Steamboat International Buffet at Sunset Way , Sat 3rd.May 08 (Adhoc) at 7.30 pm. See my post for details.

    To date, 16/20 had confirmed.
4 more vacancies left. If interested, pls.
    register.

Thanks and looking forward to your support.

SHC members are always welcome to share your ideas/suggestions/advices/tips on food that relates to health, recipes or organising food events

Teamwork is a key to success.Let your ideas flow.

  2. Hi all,

I was very impressed with our 1st. SHC flea market outside Scorebots and the interesting ideas to market and sell their products.

May I suggest for the 2nd.Flea market,we can sell FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD besides other products like expired flavoured condoms, dildoes, edible panties p.enlarger,sx dolls, whips and chains , KY etc…
    Ha! ha!

And so members can come up with their ideas on cooked food for eg. Lina with her yummy yam kueh at say 50c a piece.Oi Cheng with her delicious Rendang Chicken, Sue Chang n hubby with their delicious BBQ chicken wings, Caroline Gee with her famous carrot cakes, Kristy with her famous black pepper crab,Ah Nee,Nor,Andrew Kuan, Terence,John Howe, ,Dolly, Dennis with bread n cakes,
Lily W with her favourite French food , etc… etc…and myself with my own creation of Konnyaku jelly which I intend to sell at 20c for a small piece and 50cts. for a big piece or perhaps I may also cook Thai mango/durian glutinous dessert pack in styroform boxes at $3 a box .

Pls. note that this International Food Event is meant especially for SHCians to share the JOY of EATING rather than profit making and I think it is more FUN this way.

Passerbys or tourists may get a chance to savour our S’pore food as well.

Any SHC member can participate in this event.

To make the event even more exciting, members may patronise any of the food stalls and vote for the BEST food stall and 3 more in terms of priority.

Can Scorebot sponsor the prizes for the Best food stall and 3 more consolation prizes? Wong KT and
    Dennis Har OK?

Pls. Sirs ,no strings attach to investments. OK ?

My only fear is that if it rains heavily, we have NO shelter and the food may be ruined.

    V. sorry if I missed out other members who can cook as well.

    My 2 cts. worth.

Any suggestions/comments from other members are always welcome.

  3. Steven, what you wrote was a narration of what you saw but let me add on what you didnt see.

The fleamart ended at abt 7.30 p.m. but didnt it occur to you where did the fleas go?

Yes, they all went back to Scorebot and if you dont believe me, go split KT’s hair & look into his pockets……….and in his armpits the eggs are hatching.

(Heee, got to go fetch my gal liao, brb)

  4. Steven, r u aware dat 2 sell home-cooked food in anywhere, b it flea market or food centre, etc.. 1 need 2 hv a home permit 2 do so. Suggest dat u look up for more info or maybe Lily can advise u on this.

The only plc that I can think of and hv d licence 2 sell rite now is only Scorebot but definitely not outside.

And we had a riot of a time that evening.

As usual, Ter was playing snake and ladders with “Directions”. The ZEN Way.

“The end point is the start point.”

    “Going nowhere is being everywhere.”

My take was on the ATM way to an embarrasingly decadent and self-indulgent lifestyle.

Then someone insisted on teaching us how to get a super cure-all. Combine the two. Now we can live longer with no care or worry and be as decadent as long as we wish to be.

Life is not about have and have-nots. Not money. Options.

  6. Dolly @ #6

You’re absolutely correct. Very easy at Scorebot. We have a neat and simple solution.

Al fresco servings on the sidewalk like flea market with hundreds of sittings if necessary. We have the service of few commercial kitchens if necessary. If raining many covered seats also avaialble.

Arrangements can also be made for participants to bring homecook under QC and controllled conditions.

  7. “Then someone insisted on teaching us how to get a super cure-all.” That someone is now meditating under the Scorebot tree, praying for divine guidance to remove the wickedness permeating this world.

“Arrangements can also be made for participants to bring homecook under QC and controllled conditions…………….”

Let me cmplete it for you “………..and also to bring home a male & a female flea, healthy & in their puberty, ready to procreate for you fleas many many, some you can add into yr tea, like that, how can you not be happy with KT…………?”

  8. Hi all,

Whilst walking to the Horti Park to Vivo city, some of you SHCians had told me that they were interested in eating Peranakan Buffet lunch/dinner on a Sat.

Can I have a show of hands by way of comments if you are keen to join us.

It is timely to have another SHC MAKAN EVENT .
Buffet dinner costs abt $12 nett. Not a gimmick.

Probably have the buffet around early Sept. when there are less SHC activities.

    Any comments ?
