  1. Hi Ron. Thanks for the info. I heard over Radio 90.5 that the concert was on last sunday, 1st June. I missed last week’s. I am glad they have another concert this coming sunday, 8th June. I will try my very best to be there. Do they have seats, or do we have to bring our own picnic mats? Will you be there? Cheers, Lydia.

  2. Hi Lydia & All SHCians

Thanks for the response, there are seats available, but they are strictly for the Senior Citizens and those from the charity homes.

It is better for you to bring your own picnic mats or plastic sheets, otherwise you may have to stand the whole night long, at the same time you may have your own private picnic, listen and enjoy the cowboy songs and oldies, songs of the 60s n 70s.

  3. Ron Lai,
That sounds interesting. I will drop by but I think there’ll be a huge crowd even though the field is big. The whole of Pasir Ris town will probably be there. :-)

  4. Hi Ron Lai

Many thanks for the update. Will be there.

Found another interesting concert on SISTIC Website.

  5. Hi ! Ron Lai,

Appreciate your info.I will drop by & enjoy the oldies songs. If crowd too huge than proceed to whitesand enjoy my shopping.

  6. Hi Fong

Thanks for your response, we have to try to be early as expected there will be a good crowd, bring picnic mats or plastic sheets along, it will help your “legs”. As mentioned by you as regards to “ELVIS” show, sing and guitar playing by Romito Mendoza, the 1st runner-up of the Impersonation of Elvis show of late, I may consider of putting up the POST soon.

JUDY LIM: Crowd will be there. hope to be early to “chope” the place. You will definitely love Mathews & the Mandarins, the Singapore cowboy singer, and the Heritage.

  9. Hi Ron,

We all enjoyed ourselves last night at “Rocking Good Times”. It was so fun to hear all those oldies from such great singers. Juliet Ong, Diana (to be SHC member) and myself want to thank you for keeping us informed of this event.

  10. Hi Lina, n All

Thanks for your appreciation, as well as you and Ah Nee for being the early birds to “chope” the place for the rest of the “gang”, like Ron Wie, Rene, Molly, Ronald Lee, Boon Liang, Joy Chuang, Jie, Grace Wong, Grace Kok, Janet Heng, her hubby Liu, Lydia, Liza, Jeffrey Fong and his spouse, Alan and Ann Bok, Douglas and a few others (which I have lost sight of their names, excuse).

It was a night to remember, especially The Heritage, The Gypsies and The Singapore Cowboys, Mathews n the Mandarins, their rock and roll numbers really electrify the whole field. With the great singers like Robert Fernandez, Ann Hussein, Vernon Cornelious joined in by the dignitaries, and with spectators participatiobn it brought the “house” down, not to mention with some dancing thrown in, come next year, the show will be more grand.

  11. Dear Ron

Thanks for sharing this with us. It was a performance reminiscent of the Concert at Zouk which many of us attended last year. I noticed that some of us stuffed ear plugs into our ears. The music was quite loud at times and we communicated by typing into our phones. It was a night of fun, fellowship and food (peanuts and keropok also counted as food la, provided by Molly).

Look forward to more open air concerts…

    Joy
