  1. Hi Andrew

  2. Hi Andrew,

What an awesome dance! I’ve always been admiring this Bachata Dance, and your sharing of this YouTube various elementary steps is greatly appreciated.

Perhaps once I’ve mastered the correct steps, would you be able to grant me the first dance?

    Cheers!

  3. Hi AndrewY,

Gee, there is so much to learn and enjoy in dancing. This Bachata dance really keeps the heart pumping. Although I have not participated in a dance course before, I encourage SHCians and those who have the energy to pick up dancing as a love and as a sport. Juding from the events in the club, dancing has made it to the top few activities.

  4. Whn i went into the link, it says video no longer available..so really no idea how’s the bachata dance like…..If anyone has the music CD, pls pass me so that I can play it on THE nite…30 Aug..:-)…But u hve to pass me the CD before end of this week.

  5. Hi Mega Abdullah, nice to know that the links are useful to you. Yes, I consider the variations in the 3rd set of link are quite useful, not only for Bachata, also other dances.

Hi Karen, I don’t know where to get the DVD of the dances. But I found we can get them easily from the YouTube, such as those links I attached for the dance Bachata. I think that should also be some similar links for other dances. So why should we spend money to buy them, ha ha (just joking). BTW, I think the “Turns” shown in the 3rd set of links can also be used for the Disco Rock. How about give them a try?

Hi Susan Chan, the good friend of my buddy, how are you. We met once in the last SHC D&D. Yes, the Bachata dance is awesome and quite sensual. You may know the step, but quite difficult to dance well in the right style. I hear that you dance very good, and it’s my honour to get your first dance. But I’m sure not a good dancer, especially in social dance.

Hi Terence, yesterday when I surfed the YouTube, I found some videos of this dance really keep my heart pumping. I don’t know whether someone in our SHC dare to dance like that, ha ha.

Hi Dan, from the success of the coming Sat Nite Fever, why don’t you make it a fixed monthly activity like walking and cycling.

  6. Hi June

Long time no see, how are you. Thanks for orangizing the Sat Nite Fever, so we have chance to exercise our legs and body, otherwise, the left and right leg will become two left legs.

I don’t know why you cannot get the video from the link, I’ve just try and still OK.

  7. Hi Andrew,

We have intended to have the Raffles Town club as a monthly affair but heard there were complain because of our big group.

As Friday is our regular class on dancing, it may be too taxing on the dancers to find another day as dancing night.

As it is, regular jam session are held at Serangoon Gardens Country Club every Wednesday night. The only option now is having our monthly jam night at The Dance Floor at Safra Mount Faber.

I plan to have it every end Saturday of the month. Let hear feedback from all the dancers!

  9. Hi buddy Andrew,

Thank you for taking time to share the Bachata links. Definitely a great help with its clear precise steps and demonstrations.

I am next in line for this dance after Susan Chan eh? So please go brush up on your dance steps haha.

  10. Hi All

    I hv e Bachata Dance Steps VCD 4 sale. Urs 4 $10.

Just some tips how 2 make one. Those who hd attended e lesson on using Zamzar (a free online software) shd b able 2 do it w/o prob. If u hv 4gotten, here r e steps –

Go 2 n open up all the links, one at a time, shown in Andrew’s thread. Copy URL n paste in Zamzar n select “AVI” format. Each time wen u download e video, rename it in a sequential manner like 1.1, 1.2. or 2.1 so tat video files will play in sequence. Wen all downloads complete, use “Nero” 2 burn n ur selection must b “Video CD”. Wen all r done, u can either play it on ur PC or normal DVD/VCD player.

Anyway, e whole process takes >2 hrs.

  11. Dear dancers,

What I meant is to have our monthly jam every 2nd Saturday of the month.

As suggested by Andrew why we are not having it like monthly walk and cycling. Let’s hear from you folks!

  12. Hi All

Anyway e earlier comment is not a sale advertisement. Tis reinforces my point tat learning dun just stop here, anything is possible. We learn n then use wat we hv learn. Wif some time n efforts invested, I believe everyone can do it.

    Hi June

Tis VCD is urs 2 keep 4 e SNF.

  13. Hi CYeo Buddy

No, you cannot next in line of the dance, because you have to be my partner to practise all the steps and variations shown in the links. With the Bachata, Cha Cha(class start soon) and the RnR, we really can show off in the Saturday Nite Fever, haha haha

    Cannot refuse ah.

  14. Danz

I fully support your monthly jam on Sat., and I think many of our SHC dance lover also will support.

    What you say, buddy Yeo,

  15. I enjoyed the jam night @ RTC last night. Bachata is a beautiful dance. Mega was conducting mini lessons on Bachata at RTC last night! Wish more dancers can turn up for these dance jam sessions.

    Cheers, Lydia.
