Alert – Swine Flu

Dear All

There is an outbreak of Swine Flu in Mexico and some parts of the United States.

Do read up on the latest updates and keep our fingers crossed.  Brings back memories of SARS.

Take care,

You great lah…still have time to cross yr fingers. I’d rather put my fingers in my nostrils to block all virus which is a better use………..

  2. Hey Tim

Ho mah? Long time no see. Been reading your comments on other threads and was tickled by ‘mountain cucumber’ just because Steven C is tall! Kekeke……..Love his comeback ‘molehill’…gosh!

Now that I know what you do with your fingers I will not shake your hand when we meet……will shake something else. Hahaha…….

    Have a good week.

  3. With my fingers assigned to perform such an important task, ibviously they deserve more than a handshake. I certainly wont mind if you apply colonel sanders’ jingle “finger licking good” to my fingers but I vertainly do if you develop a ravenous appetite, hehe…….

Btw, you must have mised a lot of fun happening in spore…..a catfight ! As reported, at one corner stand a group who see pre-marital, anal sex and homosexuality/lesbianism as either neutral or acceptable (and saying so to some secondary students in their schools. In the other corner, the other group see a very big wrong in these thoughts and to abate its proliferation, had wrested power at the feline club’s AGM. The press appears to be feeding it with fodder more than it needs.

Personally, I am a sworn conservative and I like to think that the way I was brought up which had stood the test of time, was good and should continue. It was definitely repulsive if our Ah Sengh had married Singh or Seng…..I wd have been convulsively aghast at that.

  4. Tim

Choy!…..not after the ‘important task’. I do apply the colonel’s jingle for other things…….hehehe

Thanks for updating me about the catfight. You know, I am in the corner of the ‘acceptables’. To me, a person’s sexual orientation is inborn, outborn blah blah blah…..have a close relative whom I love dearly and protective of. I understand his inclinations.

Poor Terence! If he decides to marry Singh or Seng, I will definitely attend his wedding……hahaha

After that, you and I will meet up at karoake with me looking in your eyes and singing Teresa Teng’s ‘woh zhi zai hu ne’. Yau ma?

  5. Hi Tim,

The AWARE is a women’s organisation.

What had it got to do with some males “members” ?

Tai ta han , sik chor mo sik choe.

Mountain cucumber ????? Never hear of such a thing.

  6. Hi Geraldine Ting,

To be on the SAFE side, better put non-essential traveling plans ON HOLD until the situation is clearer.

I do NOT wish to be another victim of the “SWINE” fever.

  7. Yes, Geraldine, I too feel sorry for those of my gender but born with a sexual inclination different from mine. Still remember what my varsity mate recounted to me shamlessly. that he and his gang forced an effeminated to strip and perform indecent acts in the loo for no better a reason that he was different.

So, Steven-C, you asked me but now you know why? I shudder to think of you come crying to tell that you were groped, and when I asked you why yoiu didnt run away, you sayid, there were just too many many out there……..a proliferation of converts.

Having said that, however, I remain dead against anyone going to schools to tell the young and impressionable that it’s acceptable to have a sexual r/s with one of the same gender, and that they too can start a family by adopting kids.

Sure, shd Sengh be permitted by his wife to take a male (no threat, she thinks?) as his concubine, you & I shall come to a bind and be his bridesmaid & Bestnman respectively, yau ma? After we are drunk to a stupor, we shall make all sorts of love vows to each other, and mind you, our behaviour will be perfectly normal.

Haha, Suezhang, you asked, after swine flu, what next?

What comes next, let me tell you, is very safe and also most unsafe. Altho men wont make eat our best friend but how far can we go away from a friend? Do we have the heart to cull our best friend?

Yes, I am talking of dogs and the next possibility can be dog flu.

    Haaaa,,,,,,,,,,,chiu !

  8. Hi Suzhang

Thanks for sharing, too! Went to the website to learn more – very informative. Thanks again.

I remember SARS pretty well. It was so sad to see people being infected and died. Hongkongers have learnt from the SARS experience and are stocking up masks to go about their daily lives. Just watched the local news and there are now 3 cases here. Switched to CNN for the latest and the numbers have gone up to 40 over there.

Really have to keep our fingers crossed (Tim, get your fingers out of the nostrils!)

    Take care,

  9. Tim

I LOVE DOGS! So, please, please no dog flu…….although I do not have a pet now (used to), I will be devastated. Dogs are adorable, totally LOYAL, intelligent and as you mentioned a long time ago, even if you beat the sh** out of them (which is wrong in the first place), they will still be overjoyed to see you when you come home. They sense your pain, hurt and share your happiness – some actually smile and you just want to hug them forever:)

Back to Terence ‘wedding’. I would love to be the bridesmaid with you as the bestman. Yau! Of course yau. I can just imagine that……kekekeke

Needless to say, we will be declaring our vows after one too many with you whispering lovingly in hainanese…..hehehe….gosh! I need a drink now!

  10. Well, Geraldine, I too love dogs and have allowed myself to be licked all over my face by this 5-month old dog which recently broke its right hind leg after what must have been a very wild party with my ex. Limping abt with 3 legs, it still tries to hop into my embrace when I come home every day….yes, that does endear me to that jack rascal. It’s smart and shit everywhere to mess up the place in protest when confined to a space…..no amount of caning, shaking it or counselling helped. Think if AWARE is aware, it wd find me a solution.

Sengh, if you’re reading us, wont you have the heart to say no to our realising this 1 and only dream? My butty Kuldip S is cool and his eyes are deep with love waiting for you……..

Btw, I hv not seen or read Patrick Don Juan for some time. Heard that his exploits here were discovered by his wifey and he’s now locked under the matrimonial bed and made to chant and recite his marital vows from sunrise to sunset. Steven-C, you hv good contacts with the KGB, gestapo, khmer rogue, kompetai et al, so would you like to confirm this?

  11. Suzhang
Swine flu isn’t new. I used to hear the farmers in Changi talking about it. They call it “ter zhor” and when it hit, all the pigs either die or are slaughtered.
Never heard of it spreading to humans till now.

  12. Geraldine Ting,
Yes, I’ve been following the reports on the swine flu in the press.
I wish I could KIV my travel plans. I’ve already paid up for my trip to China and am keeping my fingers crossed.
What lousy timing. The previous time, when I wanted to go to China, it was SARS and I was fortunate to switch to Japan instead. Now, it’s the swine flu, but hopefully, they can contain it and stop it from spreading to China and Asia.

  13. Mary-C, what has this Mexico swine flu got to do with you wanting to abort yr travel plans to China which has a lot of hogs healthier than Ter-Bak-kai, the piggy in Journey to the West?

Neither will holding up your fingers to form a cross frightens any pig away……so if you really are serious and fear the swine flu, do it my way with your fingers from the moment you board the plane at changi till you come home and voluntarily placed yrself under quarantine, heee……….guanranteed safe.

  14. Hi Mary

Nice to hear from you again. Just be extra vigilant since you can’t cancel. May I suggest that you bring dettol hand wipes (travel packs) as you’ll be on the road and may not have access to wash your hands or travel with gel hand sanitizer (no rinse). Very convenient.

    Have a good trip!

  15. Hi Geraldine #11, hopefully it won’t affect dogs & cats next….haiz….. looks like everywhere & everything are not safe nowadays. I had a cat at home and worried that she might get sick too.

#14 Mary, think it’s better safe than sorry. I was told to cancel my coming trip too. Am totally disappointed after planning for such a long time. :(

  16. Tim

Your poor puppy! Limping around on three legs….

Only 5 months’ old. Sooooooo cute. Laughed out loud at your attempt to counsel.

As for Patrick Don Juan…….”he’s now locked under the matrimonial bed and made to chant and recite his marital vows from sunrise to sunset.”…..siu sei ngor.

  17. Geraldine Ting and Suzhang
I just went out and bought myself some antiseptic hand cleanser, wipes and the N9(?) masks that were recommended. Seems a bit paranoid but like Suzhang said, better to be safe than sorry.
    Thanks

  18. Tim,
Ya, keep your fingers up your nostrils and see how long you can survive from lack of Oxygen, haha.
China is just across the Ocean from Mexico mah. The virus may just be able to walk across the water lor, so got be extra cautious.

  19. Tim #12,

Oh dear poor doggy, is it in pain? Have you brought it to the vet? Hope you have already done so as the poor animal cannot tell you if its suffering from excruciating pain. My son recently had fractures on the tibia fibula of his right leg and was in such pain for the first few days that I had to give him pain killer every few hours. Hope your doggy recovers fast and yes I am a dog lover! After all, they are men’s best friends!

    Cheers

  20. Mary

It’s not paranoia, it’s being careful and doing what you can under the cirumstances to reduce the risks as much as possible.

    Suzhang

I can understand your concern about your cat. It does seem like everything is unsafe from the food we eat to the air we breathe. Gosh! What have we done to ourselves?

  21. Thanks Geraldine,

‘Lay yow sum’ but my son needs to be on wheelchair and crutches for at least another month or two. After periodic checkups they will assess whether the fractures are mending after which they will need to operate to remove the long nails (yup thats what the doc called it). Other than that, hes no longer in pain and hopefully on the road to recovery.
Thanks for your concern! Btw my HK friend just sent me a message to beware of the swine flu. Has anyone contracted it yet in HK?

  22. I cant help but to feel blessed & elated to see my gfs showing up here…thanks Geraldine for starting this thread and to the rest, thank you, I still have you all fondly remembered in my heart, hehe.

Mary-C, no doubt, Mills & Boon dont write stories of buccaneers & pirates and so you dont get to read the same. There’s no ghost of a chance for any swine virus to walk from Mexico across the ocean to land on China……the Somali pirates wd hv kidnapped them all as ammunition against the allied forces patrolling the coasts of africa.

So, in that sense, the country most vulnerable to a swine virus hit has to be Africa, and you might not want to see yr African bf for a while, to be safe.

Cat-Y & Geraldine, oh yes, my ex did take the doggy to see the vet immediately at my expense but that was small money spent, seeing him trying to bounce all over again. The problem is not so much with his leg now but how to instil displine in that animal cleverer than some CEOs of conglomerates. That is to say, how to teach it not to defecate everywhere to seek attention; worse, to get even with me?

  23. Hi Catherine

Glad that your son is no longer in pain. I can imagine your anxiety and worry; we mothers feel our child’s pain.

Am watching the latest news update and surprisingly, there is no mention of cases. Last night, 3 cases were reported.

Also, the health authority is now having a live press conference and we are informed that WHO has raised the warning level from 3 to 4.

Ah, more updates. Apparently, the 3 cases are not swine flu but today, there are 4 suspected cases and results will be out within 24 hours.

  24. Cat-Y, I know you well enough to say that Cael is in safe hands, there’s not too many doting mothers with so intense a love for her kid like you.

It’s terrible for the pig to catch the flu. Its snout has such a long reach that you can run but you cant hide. Wished it was the monkey which catch this deadly flu………..

  25. Lina, with the swine flu epidemic entered a dangerous new phase, Suzhang have no choice but to cancel her trip to U.S

Yew Kwong & Douglas, during this period, we should try to abstain from any vigorous outdoor activities. I suggest we call off the cycling trip to Pengarang, citing the hot weather & sudden rain may cause us to fall sick. Our immunity is not as strong as before, better be safe than sorry. We must take care of our health during this swine flu epidemic. What do you think?

    Ah Nee

  26. Tim

So sweet of you to say that.

The live press conference is still going on. The authority is really proactive this time due to the painful SARS experience. As mentioned before, Hongkongers are also proactive to do whatever they can before an outbreak.
Using your fingers is not proactive……haha

Oh, the press conference has just finished.

As for puppy, they are like children – will try to get away with whatever they can. Smart! It’s a matter of how firm you are and they will respond accordingly. Stop caning and shaking puppy! Don’t make me fly down to cane you!! kekekeke

  27. Mary #27

Thanks, my son actually had his operation on 4th April, at 6.30am and I spent the whole fri nite in the hospital with him. All in all I slept for 1 hour at most and managed to make it to the D & D (with my mom taking over at the hospital) and survived the night albeit a little dazed. Alls well that ends well…..

    Geraldine #28

    Thanks for the updates!

    Tim #29

    Thanks for the compliment!

    Have a nice evening everyone.

  28. Hi Lina & Ah Nee,

Not yet lah. Am still confused and very undecisive actually. My sister in US seems to take it very easy and said life’s per normal there. Not as “kan cheong” as we thought. Haiz…I have not cancel my flights yet, but will wait for a few more days to see how’s the situation. Firstly, must check with SIA to see whether there’s any refund or if we can postpone it till later.

Looking at the situation, it’s useless keeping my fingers or toes crossed.

#22 Geraldine, the world is evolving…

#30 Ah Nee, you have a point there. The weather nowadays are very unpredictable. It can be very hot and suddenly it rained like on Sunday. That’s when you will fall sick. :(

  29. Suzhang

Yes, the world is evolving. Can’t be stuck in the stone age. Wouldn’t want to……..

Hopefully, companies live up to their corporate and social responsibilities and we, mankind, do our part as well.

  30. Frankly, if you believe in fate & karma as i do then there’s a reason to expain every single thing that’s happening. Why is it the cow that becomes mad and not the cat (altho Cat can be very mad if she cant find her Ho)?
Why equine flu, swine flu and not rhino, crocodile flu? Why is the aede mosquitoes spreading dengue fever and not the bees or butterflies?

And why are the lonesome tai tais so endowed with money to hv no hesitation in paying $10k for a 1-nite-stand when families had been evicted from 1-room flats for not having the $70 to pay the rent for 30 nites?

Yes, it’s fate at work and working most cruelly. Fate seems to like pleasing the haves and find thrill at inflicting pain and misery on the have-nots.

Most of us in here savour gourmet food, find time to go holidays, k’oks, bowling, cycle…..so dont worry, we are the haves and we’re destined to be alright & blessed, well looked after by the Eyes watching up there. We can do no wrong and no wrong will befall us……..

Suddenly, I am sinking into this spasm of melancholic cynicism again, haha)

  31. Hi Tim,

    V. sorry to hear your POOR Jack Rascal was LIMPING on one of its legs. Was it due to animal abuse ?

Or did your ex wifey cane it so HARD that his bone break because he was defaecating and urinating everywhere in her house.

NO amount of caning, counsel will help.
It boils down to seriously TRAINING your 5 month old doggie.

If you do NOT want it to defaecate or urinate everywhere in your home, either you, your princess or your maid MUST bring him down every morning to BANGSAI and shi shi.

In the evening too if he happens to eat a lot. Do this daily without fail and I am confident your dog will not frustrate you anymore. For those spots that he has defaecated or urinated, you MUST clean it with some vinegar as its smell is “revolting” to your dog. Otherwise, your dog will smell them and repeat the same behaviour.

That is why it kept on messing up your home.

    Steven,
    Ex dog lover

  32. Hi Suzhang,

Sorry to hear that your trip to US may be cancelled/postpone after all.

This SWINE flu is even worse that SARS.

Infected patients of SARS will show symptoms with 3 days to 1 week but swine flu may take weeks before it appears.

This “window” period is extremely dangerous because the victim can infect many people without realising that he/she is harbouring the virus.

” Better to be safe than sorry ”

Knowing very well the DANGER is there why place yourself in the “Tiger’s Mouth”

  33. Tim

You may be feeling down now but certainly not cynical. I am also a believer in fate and karma, therefore, cause and effect.

I do not know the answer to why certain animals are struck with certain germs/bacteria/virus. I just hope that each time when we are faced with an impending or actual outbreak, we are able to deal with it and overcome the challenge. Guess this is to test our strength from the Eyes up there?

As for the haves and have-nots, well, it is a fact of life. The have-nots count on the haves to give a helping hand and there are kind, compassionate souls out there giving.

Cheer up, my friend……….hug your puppy :)

  34. Hi Tim,

…Btw, I hv not seen or read Patrick Don Juan alias]
” Boy Boy ” for some time. Heard that his exploits here were discovered by his wifey and he’s now locked under the matrimonial bed and made to CHANT and RECITE his marital vows from sunrise to sunset. Ha! Ha! V. FUNNY indeed! :)

Steven-C, you hv good contacts with the KGB, gestapo, khmer rogue, kompetai et al, so would you like to confirm this?

Tim,if you REALLY want to know more, pls call or email him to know more details.

I am NOT a kay poh and do NOT wish to know more about people’s CONFIDENTIAL “marital” affairs

  35. Hi Geraldine/others,

WHY is there deadly diseases like SARS, bird flu , mad cow ,swine flu etc…?

I believe it is ALL due to Man’s fault for “destroying” the environment by discharging chemical wastes/pollutants etc.. into rivers, streams or ponds. And somehow the water is used by the pig /cattle farms as drinking water.Even the birds are not spared.

The viruses from the contaminated rivers, streams or ponds fight also fight for their own survival by mutating into stronger and newer strains that the animals had NO immunity. That explains why the sudden deaths of so many animals/humans when the diseases breakout.

This is the price we humans had to pay.

  36. Hi Geraldine Ting,( HK )at #41,

Thanks for “igniting” this thread and it has draw many interesting comments from SHcians.

….All the more large corporations must be made accountable for their actions.

If these HUGE corporations are to do things in an ethical way, then there will not be so many new diseases appearing one after another.

What’s next after swine flu ? KK foo Ha! ha! :)

No wonder Sam Hui sang the famous Cantonese song,
Chin chin chin Chin ,…. No money no talk.
Ah lui ar tong oor ,..mo yang lei hui….

It is a SELFISH world after all. Chiew chow yam ork.
” Chee kei khoo chee kei,”

To the MEGA corporations,MONEY comes 1st.the welfare and health of their employees/community is not important to them until something SERIOUS suddenly breaks out and they are held accountable.

Remember they added melamine (a kind of plastic ingredient) to Sanlui milk so that it will have a higher content of amino acids when tested to DECEIVE the consumers like us.

Even when the NZ authorities ALERTED them earlier ,they just take it easy and close one eye.

Such is the extent of GREED and Mo yan seng of mankind towards making more money. Need I say more?

  37. Hi Tim /Cat Yeo,

…Cat-Y, I know you well enough to say that Cael is in safe hands, there’s not too many doting mothers with so intense a love for her kid like you.

Cael is her sum korn theng and 1 and only 1.
And the same goes to your slim and tall princess too.

  38. Hi Tim,

If you tiny fingers are not enough to block out your noise from the swine flu viruses in the air , STUFF in your TOES as well. Ha! ha! :)

  39. #39 Steven

Please do not utter nonsense. I know you are joking.
Be discreet. You must be jealous huh! because I am always a lady’s man. Wait for my lawyer’s letter, Tall Po Po !
I will sue you till your pant’s drop! exposing your overnight dough stick.(Lum peh peh). How about that hahaha!

  40. Hi Steven

Have to reply because you are RIGHT ON! Just came home and very…………Gosh it’s 3.54 AM but who’s counting?? I am so drunk/high whatever you call it and logged on to shc for my comfort zone……….Believe me, I am barely here with lots grammar mistakes and thinking of Mary C and Tim L with his conjunction,WHAT ? Nevertheless, trying very hard. Ivy, where are you??

    Anyways, keep posting……….love your input!

    Patrrick lee

Don’t talk c####! Know you well enough so sue me!!Love u!!……………….so you are finally released from whatever……..LOSER!!:)

  41. Hey, RELAX, my dear friends. What’s happening here? yawn…just got up a while ago and am enjoying breakfast now. Went to bed early and slept tight last nite after taking my Chinese herbs for the final episode of my flu…no, not Swine Flu. It start off with a very bad sore throat a month ago.

Well, I thought we are supposed to discuss Swine Flu here…let’s continue. WHO raised flu alert to level 5 today. Hongkongers are more cautious these days after the SARS scare. I have noticed more people are putting on masks on buses and trains. I just bought a box of masks yesterday and am considering doing the same so that no one will dare to come near me. I think it works to keep virus and humsup lo away…kekeke. What say you?

  42. Hi Tim # 35,

Am intrigued by your ‘melancholic cynicism’ mood. The cynicism (and sarcasm?)is obvious, but why is its effect melancholy? Is it because you feel fate is partial and favours the haves and mortals are helpless against it?
The questions are rhetorical, but if you have a reply, it’ll be appreciated.

    -Philosophy enthusiast-

    P.S.

    Swine flu, spreading fast;
    Man’s retribution come at last?

    Out of the blue came the virus attack;
Man’s scrambling now to fight back.

How will this virus battle end?
Will virus or Man have the upper hand?

    No mortal the answer knows;
Fate, the arbitrator, the answer holds.

  43. Well, Jass, only very few are blessed by the almighty to play around “fate” and so score a “feat” Most of us not fed with silver spoons will have to not only work very hard (cows work very hard, they moo but can coo to please) but know how to polish apples, say yes all the time to the power that be and, when their backs are turned, no to doing what they have just yes to, and leave them to others to do. It’s fated that some people are born like this, and can get away.

If can find time later, will do a ravage to yr ode, hehe………

  44. As the wise man speaks:

“Look not to the faults of others, nor to their omissions and commissions. But rather look to our own acts, to what we have done and left undone.”

Alas! the swine flu pales in comparison to the evolution of the human species, which bring about the catastrophic extermination of its own kind.

  45. Hi Patrick D.J.,

Next time better get your facts right before you start to
    “bark” like a mad dog.

Otherwise, Geraldine will screqam aloud in your ears
….Don’t talk c####! Know you well enough so sue me!!Love u!!……………….so you are finally released from whatever……..LOSER!!:) . (You must have stepped on her tail)

  46. Hi Geraldine (HK),

Poon yeh sung kan ,3.54 AM, choe mut kwai kong yeh?
    Hui me toe lei?

…I am so drunk/high whatever you call it and logged on to shc for my comfort.

Yes log on to SHCians more often and you will not feel so bored.

HK is indeed a BEAUTIFUL and ROMANTIC city with so many bright and colourful lights liniing the tall buildings and surroundings. And the entertainment there is great, 24hr around the clock.Unlike spore, most of the time the people here like shopping..shopping..shopping..

In HK,can yow chay how around the mountain peaks and look at the beautiful skyline of HK city and harbour in the night.

    choe tow, ZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  47. Hi Steven

Yah. Poon yeh sung kan indeed……..

Entertainment is certainly round the clock here – I staggered home, remember? Kekeke…..Detoxed yesterday and am feeling human again today.

I am enjoying the ‘Taken for a ride’ thread. Members are really sharing their own experiences or their friends’. Learn a lot.

  48. Hey Tim # 49,

“If can find time later, will do a ravage to yr ode, hehe………” Don’t be a naughty boy and get bad karma. Leave it to your naughty puppy to do the ravaging.

    Cheers,

  49. Hi Tim ,

Since you are so fond of discussing about the AWARE saga lately, why not fight for your voting rights as a lawyer
and be the 1st. male SHC member of AWARE.

So BEWARE the “DEVILS” wear PRADA. Will you?

  50. Steven-C, that very fierce women’s association already has an equally fierce-looking kojak so they dont need another ugly like me.

So, it had to take a letter from a nerologist to tell the world that there’s hardly any symptom for this HINI flu, and that an infected person shows no fever at the early incubation stage. Now, the alert is down from orange to yellow when, from day 1 till now, nothing has changed. Has the 2 K cultures so ingrained in us that the fart from a long suffering constipated will frighten us to think it’s the boom of an atomic bomb?

Bang Din is caught and he’ll soon be returned to the sin bin but me hv no hint how he could have swum 1 km when he had neither fin nor a kin to help him, not forgetting he walks with a limp and when we were all supposed to be looking for him? Dont think we have contained a threat cos it’s not a threat if it can be seen so continue to be careful if you know what I mean.

Finally, the STI was up by about 320 ponts over last week and I can see the euphoria with shopping centres more crowded last weekend. But sont bet on the recession is over and everything is looking up. It’s a mere gamblers syndrome………you have lost yr pants, borrowed one to wear and think you can start partying till you drop yr pants again.

It’s really a bunch of what I see as hard-core gamblers coming together and gamble among themselves, pushing their stakes higher and higher, but if the general economy doesnt catch up with this gambling, they will fall like a pack of cards, harder than the last time.

  51. Dear All

Saw the news both local and CNN. Apparently, cases are still coming up now that we are kinda slack, not vigilant.

Please keep updated and take care.

  52. Hi MaryC! #14

Oops! U booked for China trip? Where about is it? How much deposit did U leave?
My colleague & his wife are also going to Peking & Shanghai in June 6- 17. Heard that early booking would be cheaper.
    Less than 1 K?
I’d been to China, SW side in 2007. Tho Gulin has very nice sceneries, I still don’t like all the public toilets that the coach had stopped for us! They’d no sense of drainage & water system!
Heard that there’re lots of shops in Peking & Shanghai, so they’ve better facilities but not the country sides!
Keep your fingers crossed but not like Tim’s eh?

    CatY,
Going anywhere this June holis? Keep in touch.
I would like to go nearby places eg. Penang or……

  53. Hi all,

For the latest data update on Global swine flu pls. click at

    http://www.moh.gov.sg/mohcorp/default.aspx

    Hi Suzhang,

Although your family and you MISS visiting the USA during the holidays, it was actually a Blessing .

Yesterday news, 6 contracted swine flu after attending a relative’s wedding in the States for a few days and worse still Melbourne has 1500 confirmed cases.

And so it is better to avoid all these endemic states if there is no urgent need to travel.

  54. Hey Steven

Thanks for the MOH’s latest. I looked at it and am surprised there is no mention of HK statistic (or has my poor sight overlooked?).

Over here, kindergartens and elementary schools were closed for the next 2 weeks since last Friday and the increased cases (communal) then and since then have risen and I am sure will continue to rise with one local high school being closed because 11 students contracted this virus………and yesterday, 2 students from the Australian intl school came down with it. Yikes!!

My baby princess told me yesterday that her school may close this Friday instead of next (end of academic year – beginning of the summer holiday).
