What will you be doing over the next 3 days?

Many SHCians must have made their plans to go away for this long weekend.  I am also quite sure a number will stay in Singapore to enjoy the quiet surroundings.  For some, it will just be a case of no plans; just staying at home to enjoy TV, Mahjong and maybe a few kakis coming to the house.

Share with us what you will be doing.  And if you are not doing anything, nothing to be shy about, maybe some of us can meet up for tea or kopi.  Enjoy the peace Sat, Sun and Mon.

  1. Are you in Singapore this long weekend? I have not made any plans, altho I was thinking lazing around would be the best option. Couldn’t get a ticket to Bangkok; so I have to be here. First thing on my mind is to find out when is high tide, and then go catch some fish at the nearby longkang. For me, my daytime Sunday is out.

If you are also in Singapore for this long weekend, looking for something to do, share with us your free time schedule. Maybe someone will call on you.

Monday 21st, I will be free. Maybe can rope in a few like-minded SHC for a cuppa and light chat. Sue Chan are you game, one of SHC’s beauty. Rosalind Lee what about you, another beauty. And where are the handsome guys?

  5. Aiyah, Terence, Why don’t you join us for cycling and dinner tomorrow at ECP?

Are you tired of the club and its members already?

Otherwise you can join me for a drink in SGCC. I can find out what’s happening on Mon evening? Last Fri we had Matthew and Mandarins. I think they will still sing every Fri night. Not sure who is on every Mon.

Give me a call and I am sure we can round up some people quite quickly.

    Cheers

  6. Yah! Terence see you at the cycling. we can cycle the short course at 4.30pm. Our leader is the vivacious Lily Ho ( her heydays were the famous atress with Shaw Brothers in HK in the 60s). Just joking lah!

Then we decide about monday’s itinerary.

  8. Hi SHCians

Wish could join you guys over the weekend holidays. Sorry lah, just could not get a halfday leave today to go cycling with Lily’s group at East Coast Park. Am working between 1-10pm these three days. Perhaps, will get some feedback from Paul Kong, a CSC member who does visit the club weekly.

Terence, you may wish to tag along with Paul and pay me a visit, though be forewared I cannot leave my work-station.

Well, have a great time guys.

    Regards

    Abel Tan

  9. To Patrick Lee SJ,

Sorry, I won’t be free tomorrow for your proposed coffee cum chit chat. As it’s a Public Holiday, my priority will be for my lao gong. We’ll be park-tor-ing. :)

  10. Wah Terence,

Still no answer from you, eh? What about if I upgrade my offer to dinner tomorrow in SGCC? Will bring along other SHC members, so you won’t be bored by me.

Can or not? If not can upgrade still?

    Cheers

  11. CharlesC,

Not that I did not want to respond. But, it’s on. I will make the time. Let’s have dinner together. Will call you first thing Monday morning. Cheers.

  12. Hi Abel #9,

I havent been to the Chinese swimming club for a long time. Paul and me, we do have a few things to talk about. Likely not during these three days. But, I will get in touch with Paul first. He is a member, I guess.

  14. Hi Hamidah,

    Thank you for your information.

Here’s wishing all SHC Muslim members “Selamat Aidil Fitri”.

Also, thanks to Lisa Ong for this.

  15. Hello Geraldine Ting

You’re most welcome & I’m indeed happy to receive greetings
all the way from HK. Fyi,I was in HK in early March to attend my company HQuarters’ Annual Dinner in HK Island and I stayed at City Gdn Htl just for 3D/2N. 1st nite we went to Macau & came back at 6am (slept for just 3hrs). Did’nt have time to shop as we need to go to HQ after lunch on 2nd day for orientation & then attend Annual Dinner. I could’nt find Muslim food around the htl area but anyway happy at least get to see part of HK haha.

Hope to meet you some day during any of SHC events.

    Cheers
    Hamidah

  16. Hi Hamidah,

You know, City Gdn Hotel in North Point is very close to my place. I am up the mountain, about 15 minutes’ walk from the hotel.

Every Friday late afternoon I will bring my baby princess to her guitar lesson in Maximall, next to the hotel. I will then walk around for 45 minutes, passing by the hotel each time whilst waiting for her to finish her guitar lesson.

I will be in town in Nov for the Batam weekend trip. Hope to meet you during this trip.

    Take care,

  17. Hi Geraldine Ting

I was invited by 2 CEO secretaries for coffee at Starbuck near City Gdn Htl after Annual Dinner. These 2 ladies lived at 32 Fortress Hill Rd. I saw from the roadside their condo is on hill top. Just curious, do you happen to stay at this same place since you said your hse is just 15 min walk from the htl.

Sorry I’m unable to go Batam trip cos by the time I replied Nor’s sms, the registration has been closed..haha no luck.

  18. Hello Hamidah,

Fortress Hill Road is joined to Tin Hau Temple Road and there’s where I live. My road is just further up the 2 ladies’. The Starbucks you went is on King’s Road and yes, from there you can look up to see lots of residential buildings up on the hill.

What a pity you will not be on the Batam trip. Maybe we can catch up during my stay.

  19. Hi Geraldine (HK)

No problem, let me know when you happen to be in town will try to meet up with you one of the days, otherwise I will have to wait till you open your SHC Nightclub/Cabaret business since you are the owner hee..hee.

    Cheers!

  20. Hi Hamidah,

Hahahaaa. Would certainly love for you to be there on opening night of our nightclub. Care to take up a role?

Will be going to the tailor for my cheongsum when this terrible weather clears up. :D

  21. Hello Geraldine (HK)

Wow if you can wear cheongsam means got good figure.

I don’t have the looks & nor good figure, as such not eligible to take up any role. Those positions need sexy & sweet looking ladies. If I want to be the singer must sing Chinese song which is not a problem for me but I don hv guitar shape body to wear cheongsam is the main problem lah, so kor lian (pitiful)..sob..sob. I think I can only be the Guest but Terence said “Ladies must be accompanied by Male guest” & since SHC not many Male members, so poor thing we ladies I think must stand outside the door on the look out for male who come alone & approach them to bring us in ha..ha.

  22. Hi Hamidah,

Easy to achieve a ‘good figure’ for cheongsam. Use push-up b’s (maximum strength), lift-up p’s plus corset. Will be going to the tailor in these. Very challenging as I will be barely breathing…….gasp!

Once the measurements are done, off they go and back to eating. Yay!

  23. “Wow if you can wear cheongsam means got good figure”.

Thanks, Hamidah, for sharing this telling truth. Henceforth, I shall discard my long sleeve and pants at work for this sexy cheongsam.

And outside of my window, tarzan is still howling and bellowing his hor hee hor, obvioussly frustrated that despite his great physique, he’s not getting attention. Please tell him to remove his loin cloth but not before you remove yr cheongsam for him and not before you find another cheongsam or samfu to wear first otherwise everyone will cheong at you.

Now, back to brooding my bad mood again, sigh…………..

  24. Hi Geraldine #25

Noted with tks the tricks/tips for wearing cheongsam.

    Hello Tim #26

I always felt that cheongsam are meant for ladies with guitar shape figure but not for me whose got “horlor” (calabast) figure haha. If you intend to wear cheongsam then I shall volunteer to be EO of SHC Tiffany show and will invite you to be the lead performer hee…hee

Hey Tim to get rid of that Tarzan howling outside yr window,
I suggest you wear cheongsam, make up, open the window & let Tarzan see you…surely he drop dead. Then you have peace no more hee hor hee hor sound outside yr window.

Don’t bad mood lah…nanti look lagi tua (old)..don worry be happy ok?

  25. Hamidah, it must be that gila whose unrequited love for you made him wishe that you dont hv a guitar body. Truth is, and he knows, the hour class is also shaped after you.

Funny, tarzan has stopped his howling and swinging. He is now grinning and walking like a pussy cat in a cheongsam worn upside down. Never knew how to wear anything, the slits open up nicely for his beeefy torso, allowing him to breathe easy altho he had to push his legs hard thru the sleeves. The neck opening in his cheongsam pleases him to bits as he can still show and pilot his 1 m long rudder freely.

Btw, an announcement was just made thru the PA system. It was smthg like “There’s a camel in this building, we are investigating the situation”.

I did feel a tremor moments ago and felt a more acute one after the announcement.
