Great Lovers

I was about to unsubscribe my Straits Times newspaper for lack of news. But
todays front page news in the Home section is about this 60 over years old
accountant suing his former girlfriend for $400,000 he spend on her and she in
turn counter sue him for half share of a $1.24M flat. Now that is news. I am
grateful to ST for this brilliant piece of reporting and will continue to
subscribe.

It concerns me because this guy is about my age and in the same profession.
It could be me!!!

Also I am sure there are lovers among us happily exchanging gifts while
whispering sweet nothing this evening ……it is time to contemplate. Or am I
the crude unromantic guy?

The facts of the case sounds quite straight forward, so I am sure you all
have your own opinions about who is wrong and what is the best way to settle
this case.

Lets hear you, especially the ladies, we men need to learn.

  1. Hi Terence

Thanks for ?????. :) This easy jazz version is the first time i heard it. Am more familiar with the more upbeat version sung by Teresa Teng and Youya.

  2. Hi

I’ll still subscribe to ST and New Paper, esp the latter one which contains v sensational news!

Page 2 of today’s NP: Headline: Tutor guilty of sexually abusing seven students aged 8 – 15 ~ He commits sick acts before class started.

    His offences:
    – he hugged, kissed student on mouth, body and performed oral sex on him
    – took photos and videos of another student while he lay naked on the floor
    – touched himself in front of students

    His defence:
    – he suffers from schizotypal disorder (a mental disorder which includes odd beliefs)
    – he told psychiatrist a ghost boy told him to commit offences
    – he said he felt guilty and remorseful after his acts, which he said he knew were wrong.

The prosecution proposed that he be put behind bars for 15 – 20 years.

It’s an eye-opener for parents who have tutors for their children?

    Regards,
    Gabriella

  3. Hi Tian Soo #16

I doubt it’s so easy to ‘tame the little head’ at the time when all the blood is drained away from the big head. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak?

Good examples are: BC (ex US Pres), TW, JN (to name a few).

No offence to anyone… only feeling rather sceptical.

    Good luck!

  4. ….baby, come hold me tight..
’cause I can make it right.
I can shoot you straight to the stars…
give me love & take all I got to give….

    ….baby I’ll return…too much is not enough
I can ride your heart till it breaks…..

    Ooh,…..I got what it takes…

That is really funny. I shall learn from it and talk to my ‘little head’ today to behave himself. I will tell him that he cannot be too horny because I have little money.

Maybe I should stand for the Presidential erection. $4M a year. I wonder what this guy’s former mistress would do for me for that money.

  6. Hi

‘Pity’ that old cow trying to eat young grass!

His big head did not realise how much young grass his little head was feeding on until now. Haha….

No offence to anyone… my l cent worth?

    Cheerssssss

  7. Since he had managed to accumulate so much wealth, he must have been a prudent man once, but old age caused him to be less sharp and a great desire to satisfy his fantasy before he kicked the bucket, made him look for a younger woman. Unfortunately for him, the woman he chose was a scheming one who had her own secret agenda. …only my 2-ct’s worth of conjecture. :)

Time for a heart-warming song …Terence, if you can find this song : wenqing man renjian (?????)= tenderness fills the world.

    cheers,

  8. Gabriella

Yes, you are right ‘ate the sushi’ must pay. He already know the price, in fact he gave the money out of his own free will. He may be a bit excited when he gave, but that is no excuse.

Sushi is expensive raw fish right? Nowadays they can be radioactive. Can kill.

  9. Hi Terence #6

Nothing is for free in this world? He ATE the ‘sushi’ and now wanna get his $ back? heehee.

No offence to anyone..I’m just feeling naughty!

    Cheersssss

  10. Ahhh Terence,

‘he must have enjoyed every moment of the time with her.’

A man who knows romance. Come to mama. Am yearning now.

Is this direct selling? Procurement? Hahahahhaaaa.

Darling, please play this song for me – ni zh tao wo jai teng ni ma?

The pinyin is out of sync. Can’t access to the Chinese language now.

Would have sung this song if I were to join your romantic mandarin nite.

  11. Ahhh…. reeli Unromantic TS, although I agree that variety’s good, if one goes through a whole herd (whatever that means), it’s simply going thru’ the motions; where’s the joy? Trying to break the world’s record? Boring.

Now, romance, on the other hand, is good for the soul. At least it makes one’s skin glows……..you should see mine now. Kekekekeee. Ah Fook’s doing his awesome job.

It may not last but it’s good to have loved and been loved so to speak. Not cool when it turns ugly at the end.

p/s think he would be tired with the weekly travelling if he had thought the way you do. He absolutely needed the energy. When is your safari trip?

  12. Hi Tian Soo, Geraldine and Caroline,

Please do not unsubscribe to the Straits Times. Newspapers have been the core of my business for the last 35 years.

Now, back to serious business. For the accountant to sue his girlfriend for $400k, he must have enjoyed every moment of the time with her. Of course, he changed his mind now; or she probably made him change his mind. Aiyah, it’s a common battle.

For her to counter-sue him for $600K, if the mathematics works, she gets only $200k nett.

To all the guys and gals, who’s been through this scenario, I dedicate this song to you. It’s on the left column of our website. Enjoy!

And, if you know of a song, which will remind you of those good old days, even if it costs you $400k, let me know, and I will play it for you, to whoever you had spent the money on.

    Terence Seah

  13. I think this guy is a disgrace to his profession. He spends $400K, plus half a flat costing about $600k for 3 years of pleasure. That works out to nearly $1000 a day.

For that money, he could go to China every week and buy fresh meat and change them at will. If he is bored he could go India or Africa for variety. In Africa he can have the whole herd of cows, goats, elephants etc.

  14. Hi Geraldine

I was being sarcastic about Straits Times. Don’t bother to subscribe. If you access BBC and CNN you will read the same news in ST a day later. But it is useful for people who wants to know what is on sale in Singapore. Over 70% of the paper are advertisements, the other 30% is on our clever government. Last 2 days they are about 4 guys vying for a $4M a year non job, so I was grateful to read the scandal which at least is amusing.

You can probably read the scandal on the web version their paper.

  15. Dear Baby Goat and Crude, Unromantic TS

As I have not read the ‘not to unsubscribe exciting news of the century paper’, I can only comment based on both your postings.

How in the world would or could an asswipe ask for a return of any kind? Talk about a bitter loser. Even in a divorce, the other half, be it husband, wife or pet keeps whatever GIFTS especially bling blings.

Never heard of ‘no free lunch in this world’? Let’s put it this way; everyone has a price tag especially married people, yes, you heard rite. Some divorce are so nasty you wonder why you bothered to get married in the first place.

Which brings me to the question: the counter sue for half the flat is not under her name? Hmmmmm………..if so, why the fook did he start this lawsuit?

I am assuming this is a dirty old married man and whatever the reason they parted he is very sore so therefore.

Yes, Baby Goat, it’s an ego thing with a much younger woman whatever the man’s marital status. That said, men and women of any age/status can fall for each other – matters of the heart, loneliness, blah blah, yada, yada.

As for older women falling for younger guys, wellll…..why not? Kekekekeee. Girl power.

To each his own. Well put.

TS, don’t see why you should be concerned it might have been you since you don’t, again I am assuming, whisper sweet nothings. At least not to me.

Think I’ll subscribe to this paper.

    Amused Old Cow

  16. Dear Tian Soo

I think all the cash he forked out for the property purchase deposits, purchase of car and money transfers may be returned to him.

However, I think that things like the “blink blinks”, watches, designer bags etc should be treated as gifts and should not be returned. She had kept him company for three years of her prime. So I think she is entitled to them.

But its difficult to say who’s fault it is. Anyway, I think its a lesson for guys to think carefully if a woman so much younger than you love you for who you are or what you have. I have heard of many cases where the women will fleece these men and then disappear. Being with a much younger woman is an ego thing.

Same as an older woman with a much younger man. So we women have to be careful too. But then again, matters of the heart is difficult to control.

Whatever it is, to each his own. My two cents worth. Hope I did not step on anyone’s foot.

    Cheers
    Carly
