August 26, Monthly Gathering – F & E

Hi Members,

Actually, I was thinking of ‘eating snake’ of not wanting to organise this monthly gathering 1 lor.. but I kena summon, so there shall b a monthly gathering in August after all… kekeke.. However, I would prefer this gathering is to be conducted in Free and Easy mode lor.. ie.. 

Since we are having d One Night in Chinatown – Mandarin event on Sept 10, 2011,  for our August monthly gathering, pls feel free to speak any dialects, be it Cantonese, Hokkien, Hainanese, Hakka, Khek, Teochew, Malay, Tamil, etc etc… Shiok rite… :) 

Dialect not only adds to a rich and colorful Chinese cultural heritage, it links one to his/her roots.   SHC members have traveled widely, and become global citizens, yet it still feels great to come home to speak dialect freely, agree? 

So, let’s get together and find out who your ‘ka ki nang’ is (???) – an excellent opportunity to link up your roots!

Date : Friday, August 26, 2011.

Time : 4.00 pm – 8.00 pm

Venue : Bra Cafe (or commonly known as MPH Cafe) @ Robinson Road

Cost : To be capped at $5 for 1 drink (coffee/tea/canned drink) with 1 pastry.  However, you can top up the difference should you prefer to change your drink or pastry for others.  NO OUTSIDE FOOD AND DRINK IS ALLOWED FOR THIS MEETING,  KIND UNDERSTANDING MUCH APPRECIATED.

Since this is to be F&E meeting, I would prefer not to set any agenda and we will talk talk and mingle freely to know more friends here.  I also hope that more new members will participate for this gathering also.  However, please feel free to throw ideas/comments/suggestions for any SHC event.   This monthly gathering is for SHC members only.  Please register your participation here as we will closed for registration once we reached 40paxs… NO GATECRASHER PLS!!!! AS THE CAFE CAN ONLY ACCOMMODATE THE SAID NUMBER OF PAXS LOR…

      I picked up 2 tour brochures at Perth Int Airport on my way out last evening. Hope they will come in handy for you. I have also spoken to a friend about providing accommodation at her residence. She has agreed. Let’s chat further on Friday then.

      Meeting venue so near my office, but cannot support you leh. :( Prior to my duty on 27 Aug, this Friday afternoon, have to attend briefing and doing the set up at the polling station. So will be missing you all at the Bra Cafe……see you all next round lah. :)
