Chinese New Year Breakfast dimsum, Sun, Jan 29, 2012

This Sun Jan 29, 2012, we we should celebrate the arrival of the Snake Dragon year.  All of us have celebrated Lunar New Years; and like what most of our parents expect, a reunion is good for family ties.  This is one occasion where we may be anywhere in the world now; but the reunion day is a must to meet, at least once a year.

For a start, if you are available in Singapore on this date, please write this appointment in your diary.  We have scheduled the event, although there are still many areas we have not tidied up.  If you  have ideas or suggestions, please share with us here.

  • Date :  Sun, 29 Jan 2012
  • Time :  8 am (come at 7.30 am also can)
  • Venue :  RED STAR Restaurant – 54 Chin Swee Road, Level 7.

I do think we should have a restaurant that is already decorated up for the Lunar New Year. This is an old place, no need to do any decor, and still carries the CNY mood.  Dont mind if we have to share with other diners.  Maybe we can entertain them.

  • Dress: Red and/or traditionally Chinese
  • What to bring: A pair of Mandarin orange
  • Menu:  Am hoping we can have a dim sum set, for around 12 – 17 dollars.  Someone told me I was dreaming.  I was living in the early 1990’s.  The price is now set at $30 per person.  Will use any excess money to buy lottery/toto tickets.

Today, we may be 6 2 weeks are just a few days away from the event date.  I guess some of you may have made plans to go to Genting casino or overseas at Sentosa.  But, if you like the idea of joining other fellow SHCians for a Lunar New Year reunion lunch, please indicate your name here.  If you have something on at a later date, you may withdraw before Jan 15.  Hopefully, this will help the planning committee, which has not yet been formed.

And, my favourite request has always been, if you can help in the organising committee, this will be great.  I look forward to your assistance.  Simply raise your hand.  So, you can help do a part with suggestions and ideas.

  1. My mum always insists I’m one year older than my birth year cause according to Chinese custom, we are one year old the moment we are born.

Terence, you have now made me two years older.

2012 is the year of the dragon. The year of the snake is in 2013. Well, it’s all in the mind.

I shall be there at the SHC reunion this year. Will definitely make time for it. Please count me in.

    Thanks, Terence!

  2. For your info, Sun 29 Jan 2012 is NOT a SNAKE year. It is the year of the DRAGON. Please check your chinese calender and correct the error.

    Thanks.

  3. Hi Terence

I don’t have suitable dates to EO monthly gathering in Jan :

    • 1st weekend taken up by our Golden Triangle trip.
    • 2nd weekend is too rushed for me right after the trip.
    • 3rd weekend is Chinese New Year.
    • I was thinking of the 4th (and the last) weekend to have a “Lo Hei” gathering on the 28 Jan (Sat) because 2.8. means ‘easily prosper’ in Chinese but you beat me to it with this latest post.

Hence, I relinquish my EO duty for the month of Jan.

    Thank you. :)

  4. Hi DannyL and DaisyY,

Last week, I visited the Thai Royal Mint in Bangkok. They have just launched the new issue of a set of gold, bronze and silver coins to commemorate the Lunar New Year. Quickly, I bought a few pieces, and thought I saw the zodiac snake on the face of the coin. Now, that you mention it, I relook at the coin. Ooops, it’s a beautiful zodiac dragon.

Thank you for pointing out the error.

  5. Dear Friends

At the moment I am unable to confirm attending this event, though am very keen to.

By the way, ten days ago I lost my handphone and thus all the contacts vanished too. Fortunately, in acquiring a new piece my old digits can be retained and therefore some of you whom hopefully have in retention my contact number can still call or sms me so that I shall in return be able to retain yours.

Doing a 12-hour work as a security guard has severely curtailed my social free-time as the fact is, I “pool” my
Off-days, meaning I only take one or two Off-days in a month, as the “collected” Off-days are utilised for a four or five-days visit to my family in Bandar Lampung, south Sumatra, Indonesia.

Shall try to organise a Kuala Kampar-Teluk Intan(Leaning Pagoda) railway trip at end February or in May.

Merry Christmas and a fair 2012 to all Silverhairs.

  6. I took Ann Lim’s advice and am at the Swatow Restaurant, on Lorong 4, Toa Payoh now. Couldn’t do any reservation as they are open for reserv in January only.

So, I sat down and ordered some dim sum for my lunch. Have to hunt for another restaurant.

Last Friday, I went to Yan Palace restaurant, which was suggested by Kenneth Tan last year. Again, I had lunch dim sum there. The place is suitable, and it had a small stage. Pretty nice, we can share with other diners.

With our membership, can everyone look around for a restaurant, which looks pretty chinese to reflect the occasion, serves dim sum, has a small stage. Don’t mind sharing with other dinners. We can entertain them. Don’t have to be a private function room. Look at 50 pax.

    Please look around.

  7. Swatow Restuarant the Tim Sum is quite good and there do have hight tea in the afternoon, however may encounter at times the serving of the food may be delay due to lack of manpower.

Alternative can also try the Mushroom pot at Orchard $16.90 for wk day high tea or also can try the Lao Beijing at Novena Sq $18.80 for wk end high tea.. price is resonable with a range of tim sum snd al-carte food.

  8. Hi guys!

At last, some dim sum suggestions for Chinese New Year!

I must say that the 29th Jan will be a very crowded, busy time for restaurants: is it Everybody’s Birthday?

And also, many restaurants will have special New Year menus: so no standard rates or buffets or teatime dim sum sets.

Be prepared to have crowds and higher prices.

If anyone can confirm a nice place at a reasonable rate, say, $20 per head, I would be game to attend.

  9. Terence,

Try Red Star restaurant at Chin Swee road/ Havelock road. The restaurant has a stage, suitable for diners wanting to sing. Since it’s situated at the heart of Chinatown, it’s has the CNY ambience….everything in red deco, red lanterns, red curtains, red carpet. What more…diners sing oldies & canto pop songs, best of all, the dim sum is yummy!

    Ah Nee

  10. Hi again, Ah Nee

Good suggestion, Red Star… old world charm and very appropriate for us! Just make sure that not too ex… dim sum dollies and karaoke, what more can you want?

  11. Hi Ah Nee, Kenneth,

I went down to Star Restaurant today to have a look at the place. Looks good and great atmosphere. For lunch, the restaurant requires booking and a set package, at about $480 per table. Not the price level, I was looking.

Interesting, they have breakfast dim sum, which starts at 7am. This will be dim sum, and sounds good. But, no reservation, just got to get down early and have dim sum. I heard the crowds will be huge.

I was thinking it might be interesting to go down and have a dim sum lunch. Everybody form groups of 4, 6, 8 or 10, and we meet there. Think about it.

    Do you have other suggestions?

    Terence Seah

  12. Hi Audrey #9,

Novena square is great because it is where the Novena station is. If you leave nearby, can you help me to reserve the place for 50 pax. Please send me an email if you can get a reservation for 50 pax, either for lunch or from 2.30pm to 4.30pm. Please sms me and I shall call you back.

Fellow members, please do look out, until we have confirmed a place for our annual Lunar New Year lunch.

    Thank you.;

    Terence Seah

  13. Hi Terence,

Have check with the Lao Beijing Resturant, during that period its so happening that its CNY the 7th day , so they are no High-Tea.. all orders only on Ala -Carte style only.. I have manage to check the Mushroom Pot ( vegertian ), they still serve as per normal the high tea $15.90 ++ ( 3-5 pm ) at Orhcard point.
I guess most places may not cater any high tea during the CNY. Unless maybe the hotels might still have, mostly likely the prices increase.

  14. Hi Terence

Think it will be a nice change to have Breakfast Gathering instead of the usual lunch or dinner.

I used to go often for Sunday brunch with my family and I know for sure the big family crowd only comes in after 10am. If we go early enough say, 9am – we should be able to secure 4-5 tables for our group.

Hmmm…. wonder if chopping tables with tissue packets will work in this place? Any takers from the early birds? I am a night owl by choice but will make an effort if this Tim Sum Breakfast is on. Wanna?

    Lily

  15. Hi Terence,

Would you consider a CNY lunch for 4-5 tables @ S$319.00 NETT per table of 10 pax with a fixed CNY menu @ Lai Wah Restaurant located @ Bendemeer Road, Kallang Bahru. This restaurant was established since 1963 and serves authentic cantonese cuisine, and the nearest MRT station is Kallang~East West Line.

Let me know if you’re keen..

  16. Count me in for the CNY lunch or breakfast.

By the way Sue Chan, Lai Wah is more accessible from Boon Keng MRT than Kallang MRT. It’s within walking distance from Boon Keng MRT while you will have to take a cab or bus if you transit from Kallang MRT.

  17. Hi Terence & Sue Chan…

I have forgotten about Lai Wah restaurant at Bendemeer road after my parent in law past away. It was once my parent in law’s favourite restaurant and we used to dine there very often in the 1980s. Their menus (cantonese cuisine) are at a very reasonable prices and best of all, all the dishes are so yummy! The restaurant is at the ground floor of the HDB flat and it should be nearer to Boon Keng MRT station. Please go for it…….

    Ah Nee

  18. Hi Terence,

    Here a suggestion:
We last had a dinner for 41 pax in June last year and adjourned for a walk at Hork Park for $8.00 each.

This time round I check with the chef for $10.00 per pax.

    The Menu:
    1. Chicken (Wite and roasted)
    2. Fishhead Curry
    3. Braised Trotter
    4. Chap Chye
    5. Chop Sum
    6. Yu Sheng
    7. Chinese Tea

Venue: Sin Kee Famous Chicken Rice
    Blk 38 #01-02
    Commonwealth Ave
Less than 5 minutes walk from Queenstown MRT.

    Joy Ah Long on standby.

    Danz4Joy!

  19. Hi Terence

Thank you for the amendment to my surname.

    Hi Lily

I second your suggestion about a breakkie instead of lunch or high tea. I am a morning person and I am up seven early 8 early everyday no matter how late I sleep (this kuay bak sleeps early anyway). It will be a nice change.

I luv dim sum at no matter what time :)

However, I will go with the majority. I am easy peasy .-.

    Cheers
    Carly

  20. Hi Terence,

May I know where is the event’s venue & time? Any decision yet? I have a CNY dinner cum show time on Feb 5th @ Hougang CC. Tickets are going at $20 per pax. Includes 8 course chinese sit down dinner. Just wondering if you or anyone else in SHC would be keen to come? For those keen on karaoke, you will get the chance to sing on stage too! They have engaged some professional singers to entertain the crowd.

Pls let me know, so that I can reserve the tickets for you.

    Regards, LydiaChin.

  21. Re the CNY lunch, I think the idea of dim sum early in the morning can be quite fun. I need someone to talk wtih Red Star to see if we can reserve 5 tables in the morning, say 8am.

Dan, Ah Nee, the place you have recommended sounds good too; but because I have not been there, I am not able to consider this place.

Sue, I am looking for some thing less than $20 per person. I like to keep the cost low, even though this is a CNY event.

Thank you to members who have been helping to look for a suitable place. Have not tried dim sum after 6pm, guess this is a good idea too. Must have it sometime.

    Terence Seah

  22. Hi Terence,

I can make the reservation for 5 tables, Have spoken to the lady boss Ms Tham, she suggest to go after 1pm as there will lesser crowd .. however, if we still want to have it in the morning we can go after 8 am…

Please advise so that i can proceed to reserve the tables

    Rgds

  23. Hi Terence,

Tim sum at 8am reminds me those days having hot ‘siew mai’ and ‘har gau’ and ‘char siew pau’ in Chinatown at early dawn with granny. No air-con and uncle (with white good morning towel over shoulder) busy going round refilling tea pots with hot water. Please include me for this CNY gathering. Thanks.

    Janie

  24. Alamak!!

I have to leave my house at 6.30am to catch the MRT to reach Chinatown by 8.00am!

Besides, the train takes longer and stops every now and then… so how?

Can we make it lunch after 1.00pm as suggested?

  25. Haha Kenneth, that was in my mind too. Getting rather paranoid traveling on the train these days.

All the same, Terence, please include me in this CNY gathering.

  26. Hi Terence / Audrey
    Please include me. Thanks.

Carly – you know I’ll be yawning away that morning rite? …. Talking about it already makes me want to koon liao.

    Nite nite

  27. Hi guys!

It looks like it’ll be premature to book five tables for the 8.00am dim sum…

I, for one, may be out as I would have to travel from Yishun to Chinatown.

Audrey: Can tumpang from Yishun if I can wake up… haha!

  28. Dear Terence, what a pity I cannot join you guys for this CNY gathering. I’ll be with my family in Jarkarta fr 28th – 31st Jan. We must organize a trip there one day. Airfares and hotels are cheap.

    Cheers
    Ros

  29. hi Kenneth,

Can tumpang you, picking up point at AMK MRT taxi stand.
If tumpang cannot play, play hor, cannot over slept..
Email me your contact and i will give your a rm service morning call…wahahaa

  30. Hi Steven,

Ya lah. So sorry to hear that. But still got many more places.

Btw, when is CNY? Which is the first day? Can anyone help?

Merry Christmas to All my friends in SHC. May a littl of the “Christmas Magic” touch you for you to pass it on.

  31. Hi EO,
If it is breakfast, please count me in too.
If it is lunch or dinner, I am unlikely to join due already chope by family members liao!
Do keep us posted once confirmed. Thank you.
p/s: Here’s to wishing all SHCians; Merry X’mas & Happy New Year 2012!!

  32. Hi everybody,

My apology if the CNY event cannot meet your Lumar New Year schedule. I do hope you can make it. It is nice to have dim sum. Once Audrey has confirmed the breakfast reservation at the STAR restaurant, the venue, date and time are confirmed.

As I have no access to a PC for the next few days, your name may not appear on the registration list. But I have not forgotten you.

I appreciate the support to members who have helped to look out for a place. Thank you.

So, get into your traditional wear which you used to wear 30 years ago. Everybody to bring Mandarin oranges, with the two eyes still intact.

    See you.

    Terence Seah

  33. Hi Audrey @ #49,

Thanks for info. Everytime I think of asking someone, I forget, till I am in front of the computer.

    Terence, Can register me please?

  34. Terence @51

“So, get into your traditional wear which you used to wear 30 years ago”

Help!! I can’t get into what I wore 30 years ago!

As for oranges… I will bring the Mandarins; but is Tian Sooo bringing the Mongolians?

  35. 30 years ago my waistline was 26 inches because I didn’t have much money for food and spend lots of time chasing after buses and girls. I was healthy and trim then.

Now my waistline is 36 inches. About the size of Miss Universe’s chest or bottom. I am eating myself to death and cannot catch any girls. Only MRT trains I can catch, when they breakdown. How to be like 30 years ago?

I said I will bring 2 oranges but I was just boasting. They are more like Kamquat size. Hou Chong don’t even want them to make jam.

“Mandarin oranges with 2 eyes still intact”? Maybe Terence is only referring to the ladies? My Kamquat have no eyes.

  36. Hi Charles,

CNY holdiays you also can forget when it is.

No need to ask anyone, internet is our reference library – anything just ask google/yahoo/bing. For instance you want to search for public holidays – just google/yahoo/bing “public holidays in Singapore” and you will able to access numerous sites listing all the public holidays.

  37. Hi Steven,

Thanks for your tip. I did not forget CNY, only dunno when lah. Now with your tip, can just search but sometimes lazy. Maybe next time I ask you.

Look forward to see you in CNY breakfast.

Wish you a very Merry Christmas too. Hope you get many blessings and presents.

  38. Hi Terence,

REservation have been done for 5 tables, however even though we have reserve the tablkes, we may still have to wait if there is no tables avaliable .. since its CNY , and they stsart off as early as 7am.
Should there be any changes of head count, wil have to advice them in advance.

    Rgds

  39. Hi Terence

when your post first put up, i wanted to register but thought it’s still too early. now it’s been changed to breakfast? too early and too far for me….

    HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!

  40. Aiya! Frisna #66,

Not early lah! You can reach there around 8am for sure – need wake up call or not?

………just set your iPhone alarm leh….hahaha!

What? You think me going to give you a telephone call? :))

    Go lah!

  41. Hallo Ivan

aiyo i’ve no iPhone leh and the hp i’ve sleeps whenever i sleep (i.e. the alarm only on if it’s not switched off).

since am going to work at changi airport on that day, why don’t you park your private jet there and i tompang you to the dim sum gathering?

  42. Hi Frisna,

Since the era of the ‘big brother big’ type of handphone in the 90’s I have been using its alarm clock to wake me up and have never buy a standalone alarm clock since then.

Like you I am a stingy person and I make sure that the battery will last for the contractual period of 2 years before I exchange for a new phone and contract. I have never buy a new battery to replace the original battery since I use a handphone.

I switch off my handphone every night about 10 pm until 9 am the next morning. This will conserve the battery power. Despite that it will still wake me up at 4.30 am and I will be lying on the bed to do some thinking and planning for the day. It will constantly snooze me every 20 minutes until I decided to get out of the bed around 5.30 to 6 am for my jogging/cycling or other exercises.

If you do your alarm clock setting right your handphone will never sleep on you. It will faithfully wake you up at the stipulated time and will go back to sleep again until you switch it on.

  43. Hello Steven

    aiyo you presume wrongly:
    1. my hp is new in fact it’s so new that the alarm wont work if it’s switched off while my old ones could. (it’s samsung galaxy GT-S5830. you know how to ON it?)

    2. i switch off ph not to save battery but rather to avoid radiation

    #69 Ivan: indeed u r 1 yr older now…. c u on other occasions!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO BOTH OF YOU AND ALL SHC MEMBERS!

  44. hi Terence,

My apologies. I will not be able to attend the CNY breakfast as i have other commitment.
Wil register the tables in your name… Terence please advise me in advance should there be less than 5 tables 1 week before the 29/1.

    Rgds

  45. Hi Terence,

We are able to make it for the CNY breakfast timsum,
pls include us, SK Chua & Ann Lim.

Wishing all members celebrating CNY “Gong Xi Fa Cai’

  46. The Lunar New Year celebrations are here soon. For those who have registered, it is nice to meet again for a reunion, especially with a dimsum early morning breakfast.

Please let us know if you are coming. Our event starts at 8am. for those who can come at 7.30am, that’s also nice. You can put yourself down to reserve a table for your fellow friends. We can all sit together.

I am still away from Singapore, but I can feel the festivities and mood. It’s being a long time since we last wake up early for a dimsum event, and dress up too.

    Terence Seah

  47. HI Terence, I was surprised to see my name on the registration list. I did not register! Apologies, I can’t make it for the early morning breakfast on 29 Jan, and esp on a sunday morning, I’ve to go to church. Some other time perhaps.

Kind regards and Happy Lunar New Year.

    Cheers, lydiachin.

  48. Hey Terence,

Just want to double-check with you on the time and place again.

    – Lunar New Year Tim-Sum BREAKFAST from 7:30am-8:00am onwards?
    – at Red Star Restaurant (along Chin Swee road/Havelock road??)

Because your Main Postings still stated LUNCH 1130 – 1430 hrs…..

Dun want to be there “Chi-Cha-Boey-Cha” and find no SHCians there for Breakfast…..or worst, some turning up for Lunch and found out the event was in the morning…. :))

  49. Ahyaaah!!

Now I cannot make it to this breakfast/lunch??!!

Please delete my name from the list as I have last minute commitments.

Audrey: Thanks for your lift offer, now you can get up 10 minutes later.

Sorry guys, Happy Lunar New Year!

  50. Thank you Lily for updating the Chinese New Year breakfast dimsum on Sun 29 Jan. Finally, I get to settle down, and refresh myself.

Yes, we can close at 3 tables at REDSTAR restaurant. I will make the changes when I am back in Spore this weekend.

Once we reach 30px, we can also close. No problems to those who cannot make it, there will always be another time. Ivan, noted your reminder; yes it’s a breakfast dimsum. And, Kenneth, enjoy your trip to the flower show. Lydia, noted your not coming. Ann and everybody else, see you on the 29 Jan in bright red, with two oranges. And, Tian Soo, see you too, you are likely our most senior person for the day.

To a healthy and wealthy New year. Loads of shopping and plenty of last minute shopping.

    Terence Seah

  51. Hi Terence

I can make it afterall. My flight arrives at 1+am so I can go home, take a little sleep and then go for the dim sum breakfast.

My apolgies for being so wishy washy.

    Many thnaks

    Cheers
    Carly

  52. Terence

Yes I am so looking forward to this CNY breakfast. I remember Red Star Restaurant from many years back. It was truly a Chinese restaurant. I hope it still is. It would certainly be a most appropriate place to celebrate CNY with you all.

Do I get Ang Pow for being the most senior person for the day? If there are real money in the Ang Pows then I can afford to adjourn for lunch.

  53. Hi Tian Soo,

In our tradition, we do give angpows to someone senior. I have one for you. It will be a gold coin of a dragon, produced at the Thai Royal coin mint.

See u in the morning. Now, who will be the youngest? And who is borned in the year of the dragon.

    Terence Seah

  54. Terence #86

WOW. looks like it is going to be a good year for me. I am going to be rich. Never own a gold coin before.

Now I have to figure out what to give you in return. I am thinking of 2 big, juicy and voluptuous mandarin oranges, each with an ‘eye’ or maybe even with a small brown rigid stem attached to indicate freshness. My friends say there are no more Mongolian ones in Singapore anymore but Mandarin ones are still available.

If I cannot get real big ones you may have to settle for 2 palm size ones. Don’t worry, I have large palms.

  55. Hi Terence

Thanks for organising the tim sum on 29Jan.’12.
I hope you still have space for myself, Anne & my hubby Aaron Lee.

We will be there from 8 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. after which we have another appt.

Hope to meet you & the SHC members
Happy New Year to all of you!

  56. Hi Audrey
As registration is still coming in, I think better just cancel 1 table, keeping 4 in reservation.

    Hi Members (especially new ones)
If your registration does not appear posted, it means your registration is under moderation. Most likely, you have tried to register names that have not been cleared by Admin to be SHC members.

  57. Hi Fellow SHCians,

Have A Wonderful Lunar New Year of the Water Dragon,

Please register me for the Chinese New Year Dimsum Breakfast Delight on Sunday 29 January 2012.

I understand that aleady 3 tables have been booked for the occasion. I will try to be there on time at 8am or before 8.30am.

    Regards.

    Kent Chan

  58. Hi Terance/Lily

Chew Peng had forgotten her password and she’s unable
    to log in.
Please put her on the register for CYN breakfast 29/1.

    Regards
    Richard

  59. Here’s an update, even those the dimsum breakfast is coming up close this Sunday. Singaporeans are flocking to all restaurants in Singapore, and our venue, the REDSTAR is equally engaged early in the morning. For those who are confirmed coming, please make it by 8am.

We are also having the traditional raw fish, and this is significant. We will collect $30 from everybody who comes. If we spend less, there will be some remainder, and the balance will be used for buying good luck toto or 4D, and wow, the winnings will be shared. I shall appoint someone that day to buy the tickets.

I will be there at 7.30am, just to make sure we have the tables. Feel free to join me at that time. If not, 8am will be nice. 8.30am to make sure you have something to eat. I would think we will finish by 11am.

With this timing and cost, please say yes, if you are coming and No, if not. Any changing of minds will be respected. N problems. A word from you by tomorrow Wed or asap would be appreciated.

    Terence Seah

  60. Hi Terence
Thanks for the update. All info noted & cost of @ $30/- per person.
Aaron & I confirm that we will be attending & will try to be there by 7.45 a.m. Looking forward to seeing you & SHC members…..

  61. Hello Terence

I was at Red Star for lunch in September last year with three others and the net bill was $79.15. We had a lot of food.

Wonder if I should skip dinner the night before for a $30.00 tim sum breakfast the next morning? Mmmm….. think you’ve noticed I enjoy food. Ha ha

I too want to HUAT AH! and when 30 to 40 people are going to combine our Cai Shean Tao, think it would be nice for all to know our winning number/s before they’re announced. Not doubting anybody but it’s always nice to be transparent. After all, some may not be in the habit of betting.

Just my thoughts. C u there!

    Daisy

  62. Hi Daisy #100,

I will follow you. The night before I shall eat porridge, so I can have a good dimsum. I would think the raw fish would be a great start. No worries, lily and I would make sure everybody has plenty of Chinese tea. We won’t over eat. Tian Soo is looking at a big lunch after the dimsum.

Good you are coming. Buying toto, I am really not good at it. But, we will manage. Transparent? Gosh, what is it? Or we will buy the last 4 digits of our total bill invoice. We will think of announcing the numbers on the website. Oops, I heard you don’t gamble.

Aiyah, relax, come and feel fellow SHCians. Bring 2 big Mandarins, with an eye each. Wear red, and have a loud chat. No spittoons below the tables.

Try to be early guys and gals. 8am would be great.

  63. Hi DanielC, AnnTo, Sock Cheng and Kent Chan,

We had 4 tables for the CNY Dimsum at REDstar. However, we waited for some time, and decided to carry on the dimsum, as the raw fish salad was waiting. Noticed you did not turn up during the CNY Dimsum breakfast. Did something go wrong?

  64. OH DEAR…my most sincere apology, Terence. The last time when I checked this post – before last Christmas – the place and time were not decided. Since then, I checked several times and still there was no confirmation. I thought it was cancelled, and did not read this post until now. SORRY SIR !!! I was in Malaysia 27 to 29 Jan
