  1. Haha, Yew Kwong, it’s like some kind of plagiarism, reminiscent of my favourite “jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way………”. Ok, maybe it’s time to shoo the yuppies aside with “Silverhairs, silverhairs, it’s our time taking the city……….”

More seriously, albeit a tad hastily, maybe “We have made our day, we have had our say………..now with a potpourri of ideas to share, we stand together as the Silverhairs…….”

  2. From me, the aspiring lyricist :-

    Old is gold
    Come join the fold
We are the Silver Hairs Club

    Old is silver
    Our days are not over
We are the Silver Hairs Club

    Oldie but not old
    And so we know
We are the Silver Hairs Club

    Joy-ful

  3. Dear administrator,

I dont know why my little rap did not show up the way I typed it. Can you help me put it this way :-

    Old is gold
    Come join the fold
We are the Silver Hairs Club

    Old is silver
    Our days are not over
We are the Silver Hairs Club

    Oldie but not old
    And so we know
We are the Silver Hairs Club

    Thank you so much..

  4. Oh no, it is not showing right again…sigh…each sentence is supposed to be 3 sentences, with each capital letter starting on a new line…sigh…

  9. Ha ha..thanks Yew Kwong and Ronald for trying to put it right for me..and Ronald almost did it..except that it is supposed to be 3 sentences in each chorus, with a clear demarcation between each chorus..

And thanks Susan for your encouraging words to the aspiring lyricist…

    Joy-ful again

  10. I guess this is the beauty of a group like SHC, we all have different talents, and ideas.

I dare not put my lyrics now, as I dont have musical ears and fingers. A great copy after listening to old singers’ songs though.

A friend of mine in Polygram used to tell me “Music moves the world”. That’s why I also think SHC should have a song of its own.

We need some one who can put the tune to the words.

  11. It;s a joy to read Joy’s ode for oldies which obviously has been accepted unanimously as the many assists to re-wite it shows.

Hehe, on the lighter side, that ode has a evil cousin and he goes like this ……….

Owe me gold My clothes you fold We want you to put them in the tub

Owe the devil Your days will be over We see you shiver as you’re snubbed

Mouldy but not sold And so we know We keep quiet and look bochap

  12. Hi all, just putting my feelings of SHC and the old guitar to some good use i hope: Song & Melody as it flowed, one morning, upon seeing this. (Time 45mins)
