Exploring Sentosa – August 25 (Saturday)

When I  visited Sentosa last saturday, I realised that there is so much to see and do. It is so near and yet I wonder whether some of us had the opportunity to explore and enjoy all the scenes and activities right here. It will be like a family outing for us.emoticon

The itinerary as follows:emoticon

3:30pm   Meet at Vivocity Sentosa Stationemoticon

4:00pm   Take monorail to Beach Station where the Palawan Beach is. Take a stroll down and enjoy the refreshing sea breeze and scenery.

5:00pm   Take monorail to Imbiah Stemoticonation. At the Merlion Plaza standing at 37 metres high, this half lion. half fish creature is a delight to snap our camera at. There is also an escalator that brings us to the Imbiah Lookout and the Tiger Sky Tower and lots of things to do.

6:00pm   Next, take train to Waterfront Station where Resorts World is. Take in all the amusements here and enjoy the activities at Universal Studio. There is so much to do and take in here too.emoticon

7:00pm   Adjourn to the Malaysian Food Street where all the best of Malaysian hawker fares are waiting  to fill our hungry stomachs.emoticon

Those who are tired may take a train home after dinner. For others, the free show on the ‘Crane Dance’ starts at 9:00pm and another free show, the ‘Lake of Dreams’ starts at 9:30pm.emoticon

Another option available is for us to leisurely stroll back to Vivocity by the Sentosa Boardwalk.emoticon

Entry by monorail from Vivocity to Beach Station is $3.00, any other trips by monorail within Sentosa are free.

Are you ready for a day of fun, enjoyment and adventure at Sentosa?emoticon

  1. Thank you Dan and Boon Liang for organising this excursion for SHCians.

Sounds very interesting and I would like to join you and others for the afternoon of 25th August to explore Sentosa.

    See you then.

    Geok Suan.

  2. Hi Dan,

I think the entry fee through Vivo Station is $3 per person. Can also use the EZ-link card. Coming out – using the Express train – is free (included in the $3).
The $1 is only applicable if you decided to “walk in” through the Boardwalk.
This is what I was told by my friends.

  3. Thanks Hew Lee, I walk in through the boardwalk and paying only $1.00.

I have made the correction on the post, appreciate for pointing out.

  4. Hi Dan n Boon Liang,

    This post sounds interesting.

As I had not been to RWSentosa and Malaysian makan stalls it is high time I should explore this place.

  5. Hi Steven Chan,

Glad that you are coming forward to join us, we need someone tall to be our banner so that we dun get lost in the crowd.

    Dan

  6. Hi Winnie and June,

Glad that both of you are coming.

This event is just at our doorstep and without a pinch at our pockets and we get to enjoy the things that are made available to us free of chsrge. Come and join us for a relaxing outing and enjoy all the abundant of nature before us from him ‘who own the cattles upon a thousand hills’!.

  7. Dear Dan & Boon Liang,
I have always found Sentosa a fascinating island resort.I would like to join all you, adventure seekers,in the interesting outing on 25th.August.Please count me in.See all of you at the excursion.

  8. Hi Primrose and Maria,

It’s been quite a while that we have gather together in a SHC activity. I am sure that after the four hours of walking and trekking we shall all feel trim and prim.

Some of you may think that four hours may be long. We are going to make it easy for you. Instead of starting at Beach Station you may come later and meet us at either Imbiah Station at 5:00pm or Waterfront Station at 6:00pm and join us for dinner, how dat?

Only worry that in a big group managing all the personnels may be an issue.

    Dan

  9. Thanks Aaron and Juliet for joining us. It’s been a while since we last met here at RWS. We look foreward to seeing both of you.

    Dan

  10. Hi Barbara,

Good that you are joining us.

One of the highlight at the beach is that we can climb onto a long bridge made of rope and wooden plank to a smaller island.

    Dan

  11. Hi Alice,

You are counted in and we look forward to meeting you.

Near the Imbiah Station is Skyline Luge Sentosa, it is part go-cart,part toboggan. The luge offers a truly unique outdoor experience suitable for all ages. Take the Skyride and enjoy a panoramic view of the beautiful coastline.

Admission: $12.50 – Luge & Skyride per person.

    Dan

  12. Hi Gabriella,

I also look forward to the ride on the Luge. It is similar to the one we took up to Genting Highlands but not that steep and long.

Joan, there will be a lot of fun and adventure, see you.

    Dan

  13. Hi Dan… this trip sounds interesting. I am rather keen to go. Is there any reason why the date 25th August was chosen? Someone’s birthday?

    Cheers, Lydia.

  14. Hi Lydia,

No lah, it happen to be the last Saturday of the month. I thought of August 9 but figure that being a public holiday most will be away on holiday.

    Welcome on board!

    Dan

  15. Lydia#27,
Not any special day, really, just that Dan been knocking his head on the wall for 3over month, rumbling and unnerving “S” till 24 Aug.

On 25 Aug, when he gets enough of knocking & biting the “wrong wall”, his mind will be totally free to getaway and hang loose on Sentosa island.
But don’t expect to see a red bald headed male.
More like you’ll see a red bum on the “g”.

See you guys on 25 Aug 2012….Sentosa!

  16. Hi Ann/IreneP.

Received SMS that both of you are coming, and looking forward to a day of exploration and enjoyment!

Now who can tell me how to push this post up up on top?

    Dan/Boon Liang

  17. Dan/Boon Liang,

One easy way to repost your post is to start a new post. Say a few words and provide a web link for those who want to follow the thread. You can also take this opportunity to update you post.

You original post is under link …

BTW, put me coming as tentative – not very sure of my program yet.

    Cheers

  18. Hi Dan,

Please continue to actively discuss this event. We have had requests to lift Posts which have posted way ahead of the actual date event. It is difficult to manage such requests.
