Photography Interest Group – Sculpture Hunting (29-08-2012)

In the first photo walk on Sculpture Hunting, we went to the National Museum,
the Fort Canning Park, the Singapore River Walk and the Civic District. In
total, we captured 42 sculptures. See web link http://acs6163.com/pages/01-sculpture.html for
details.

This month’s photo walk, we will side track a bit to the old business

North/South line). From Dhoby Ghaut, we will walk the whole length of Orchard
Road to Tanglin Mall (Food Court and Shopping Mall).

  1. Hi Hew Lee,

Well done, for your continued effort in organising this photo walk. To me, this is a rather unusual activity, and although I love photography, I have not learnt to appreciate sculptures, especially public sculptures. You sure have a number of talents.

On this note, I like to encourage more SilverHairs to join this event, another way of appreciating the beauty of Singapore.

  2. Hi Hew Lee

Tks for organising. Pl include me.

LiLi- Can we meet at Raffles Place MRT station and walk to Hans together?

    Cheers,
    Gabriella

  3. Tan Li Li (#1 & #4) & Gabriella Chua (#3) – Welcome. BTW this Hans Cafe is a corner shop at the junction between Upper Pickering Street and South Bridge Road. I think Chinatown MRT (N-E Line) is a nearer station. Coming from Raffles MRT station is also possible. Enter Malacca Street, turn left, walk a short distance along Market Street, enter Church Street and walk towards South Bridge Road. (You will pass Philip Street, Synagogue Street and George Street).

Terence (#2) – Thanks for your compliment and support.

  4. Hi Hew Lee,

That sounds interesting. However on every Friday I had tutoring assignment. Is it possible for you to change to Sat or Sunday instead ?

If on Sat, pls. ensure it does not clash with SHC walk and cycling events which I too am looking 4 ward to join.

  5. Hi Steven (#6) – Thks for your interest. Sorry, this Outdoor Activity is scheduled every 3rd Friday of the month unless I am not able to make it. It is easier to remember.

  6. Tan Li Li (#1), Gabriella Chua (#3) & Alice Cheong (8)- Please let me know whether you can make it on the revised date. Sorry for the change.

  7. Hi Hew Lee #9

OK for Lili and myself but is this event confirmed since there are so few of us.

The meeting place ie Hans is rather far from any mrt station. Can we meet at Raffles MRT station control room instead?

    Just asking.

    Tks,
    Gabriella

  8. Gabriella (#10), the photo walk is on irrespective the numbers attending. The reason Hans location is chosen is because we are walking from Hans to Raffles MRT. There is one famous sculpture infront of OCBC. He has published quite a number of books on conventional art of sculptures even before we have the pc or mac or autocad.

  9. Hi Lili

Shall we meet at Raffles Place MRT station control room and walk to OCBC sculpture site instead? More convenient for us.

    Tks,
    Gabriella

  10. Hi Hew Lee

LiLi and I will meet you at OCBC Building where the sculpture is located next Wednesday at 3 pm.

Both of us are coming from the Raffles Place MRT station.

    C u there,
    Gabriella

  11. Hi Hew Lee

Thank you for organising this event. It’s indeed an eye-opener for me as I’ve never noticed so many ‘beautiful’ sculptures in our midst. Ha2

Looking forward to the next event.

    Regards,
    Gabriella
