Chris Sew – Profile

Just call me Chris. A nickname that I have been used to since 18 of age. I have just passed 51 years, still working full time as Procurement Manager with an MNC organization serving near to 24 years.

My fave pass time is going gym (1,3,5 weekly) tossing iron and practising Qigong at outdoor park every Saturday and Sunday morning as early as 6am. Having found the mix of East and West exercise has indeed bring me to a new height of lifestyle and enormous increased of energy.

In truth fact, I have been practicing Qi Gong since late July 2003. This span of time certainly allowed me to evaluate the result of this gentle "martial art", not only as stress management therapy but it has unbelievingly improves on nervous system function and, more impressively, with regard to its great effect on my physical health.

I would not hesitate to recommend Qi Gong to individuals to all mature persons who are seeking to maintain or improve their health system and to remain free of chronic pain due to the aging process. Do give it a thought.

I have a two beautiful daughters, 18 & 16, still pursueing their academic, enjoying life to the fullest, I believe, just like me.

I am an extrovert, like having people around me all the time, in order to get work done "on time". Being a part of SilverHairs Club could be an avenue for me not being lonely during the ageing process.

I like travel, hoping to find good kaki to go backpacking though have never try before.
In fact, prior to my Procurement role, I was a Regional Sales Support Manager for the company doing a lot of travel. I have been to places around S.E.A. a lot, short trips all time, strictly biz and then back home. Never bother to visit places partly most of the time I was alone and could never wait to get on the plane to home.  Just being homesick.

Lastly, my best pass time is having coffee and cake and talk sense at the walkway cafe,
looking at passers-by, enjoying the sun, and of course get lazy…

I look forward to attend the SHC activity soon.

In conclusion, am I a man or woman or an orge, continue to make that guess…

Cheerio!

  1. Haha, Lily, you want Chris to tell you his vital statistics and whisper sweet nothings when he has said all and has nothg more to add for now?

Chris, welcome ! Pls let me assure you that Lily is a very nice gal, so nice that I stalked her home 1 nite but lost her at choa chu kang after she suddenly turned around, smiled at me and vanished under the ghastly moon.

Usually, most SHCians are shy & inhibited when they first meet but as we get to know & interact more with each other, our jokes & sharings flow freely, and groups sharing common interests begin to form without any urging.

So do make the time to join us in activities you like.

  2. Lily & Tim,
My fault. The profile was done 1/3 yet to complete. I was eating fried Bee Hoon at the moment and suddenly my hand turn butter soft the whole plate came down on my lap thus cause the entire disrruption. I will get my vital stats update in the profile shortly today.
    Stay tuned.

BTW, any chance of amend my family name to SEW
(not Siew). I do not like the “i” in there.

Yep, I will definitely join you folks on the coming activities. When would be the next meeting date?

    Cheers!

  3. Chris, you want to amend yr family name to SEW (not Siew) bcos you dont like the “i” in there. Walao eh, like that also got one meh? Heee, wait till Yew Kwong reads it………….then you die liao.

Re SHC activities, there’re a few planned so pls read thru the pages and you’ll be spoilt for choices.

  4. Tim,

How did you know Chris is a man?

I thought he was a woman when I posted my comment. I’m very bad in identifying the gender just by name. For eg. I thought LH Jie was a man until recently.

BTW Chris, your surname have been changed. Isn’t SHC website fast & efficient?

  5. Lily,
Thanks for the changed. Xtremely efficient group. Thumbs up .

I like to stay anonymous for a while. It be fun to keep u folks in suspense.

    Cheerio!

  6. If Chris isnt a man then tim must be a woman.

For a person to keep others in suspense, that person must wear suspenders………like that, can Chris be a woman?

  7. Hi Chris

Don’t know much abt U, as a 3-line or 2-line, whatever it is and keeping us de Silverhairs in suspense is NOT de order of the day. We have one “allrounder, guest” fully “covered”, finally revealed in no time, after having de newspaper let loose by de wind of change. We, de Silverhairs, welcome you in our fold, and would very much like to meet you in not so far future. B4 you can say “go” Chris, de HOT item of the day is your gender, leh? Since you have said you are a MANAGER and not MANAGERESS, I take it that you are on our side, lor, am I right, correct me.

    CHEERS

    Ronlai

  8. Hey Chris,

You promised in comment 3. that you’ll complete the remaining 2/3 profile by the day (after your fried bee hoon or whatever) and even asked us to stay tune. Backing out on your words now? Empty promise is the norm for you is it?

    Ya Ron,

Manager, like in Director, teacher, engineer, architect, administrator, etc. should be genderless – unlike the animal kingdom, tiger / tigeress. That is why it is offensive to say negro / negress.

  9. Hi,
Just back from lunch. Now heading to another meeting. Be back to continue my profile as promised but late after 4:30pm today.

    Suspense continue……….

  10. Lily, the occupations that you hv named refer to the male only; their female equivalents are :

Manager -> Womanager, Director -> Directionless, teacher -> treacherous, engineer -> angela, architect -> archaicthat, administrator -> anystreetshe’sthere.

And why offend her with negress when she has every claim to nenehs?

  11. Male/Female :-

    Man-aged/Woman-ageless

    Directed/Director

    Teach-him/Teach-her

    Engineer/Engine-far

    Archi-tactless/Archi-tactful

    Administrator/Adminiskirt

I was typing an obscene one for Directed, then censored myself.

These are done in fun. I have nothing against man. I like men, just as I like women. Without man, what is woman, but wo…

  12. Chris is clearly a man. He was actually the one whom Tim smiled at at KK hospital, not Lily Ho.

He goes to the gym three times a week and tosses iron. A woman would be tossing clothes into the washing machine and ironing clothes.

He watches the chicks go by at the sidewalk cafe. A woman would be the chicken crossing the road to the next mall (except me, I shop like a man, only zip in and out and only when necessary).

  13. Something for “top” males/females –

Bar top – the place where someone bar (bare) all

Lap top – the last place that someone would prefer if all other seats are taken

Car top – the place where someone really car(e) for

Desk top – the place where someone would get annoyed if their boss seat their butt on it

On top – it’s the position that is always be a hot topic

  14. Hi Chris (Christopher, Christina, Christine ??)

Welcome onboard a bunch of jokers at SHC.

Yew Kwong, Lily, Ron, Tim, Joy : it’s quiz time ! My guess is the same as Lily. :)p

    Any prize ?

  15. Hi Yew Kwong

One very important TOP U hv left out, hehe…….

    Less Top…..Oh maybe Topless…..
Luckily de Crazy Horse Topless show is not around anymore, otherwise U can start one, and all de Silverhairs will turn to Goldenhairs, haha.

    Ronlai

  16. Hi Chris

Alamak, since U indicated U are as beautiful as your two daughters, your gender is now turning to otherside, maybe a beauty Queen leh.

So much so, as I hv said U are a manager, belonging to our side, now I am seeing a colour change.

Lily, nowadays we are seeing drop in gender, Gals now become Guys….U don’t call gals anymore, leh.

    REGARDS

    Ronlai.

  17. By HER style of writing, I can safely say that its blatantly obvious ‘Chris’ is a female.

Whoever said that gym and tossing iron was restricted to men only? Haha you people crack me up. What era are you guys living in anyway?

Anyhow Chris, glad you have completed your profile. I fully understand why you took so long to get it done; You have a life.

PS:: Hi to all and sundry!

Unless needed to, this would probably be the first and last you will be seeing of me. Bye.

    NCoCN

  18. Ron Lai Says: Lily, nowadays we are seeing drop in gender, Gals now become Guys….U don’t call gals anymore, leh.

“Guys” is a common address but and unless, U may still hv to use guys and gals on occasions.

  19. Now we need to guess who sawaleigh aka NCoCN is. He/she appeared for the first time in this forum and is making a quickie exit.

From now on, all with sex unknown will be referred to as “It”…ha ha…

  20. Good day.
Who says “beautiful” apply to gals only & “handsome” for guys? In our modern living style today, the terminology use should not have sexual discremination.

I can see the thrill on everyone in guessing my gender. This is getting more fun than I could imagine. Keep going…dude.

I have a great weekend. Hope the same to all.

  21. Yes, tim smiled at everyone at the KK hospital, esp the well-endowed nurses and so was never hungry…he was almost 10-kg when discharged.

It’s a matter of time Chris’ll join our activities so will wait to see how the fella does it…….standing or squatting, altho the fella might fool me by not playing it fair & according to norm then bo bian liao.

Haha, NCoCN, why do you think any of us wants to see you? In my case, you come with the correct 4 digits, otherwise, dont let me see you.

  22. Now that the interest in guessing Chris’ gender has died down, will the truth be made known? And verified? Hee hee…

And sawaleigh’s appearance was a rare occurence and it has really and truly disappeared. Now we have to wait for the next polka dotted moon to have a sighting of it again…

  23. Chris, yr first sentence “I am ready to review (typo, you meant reveal) but it has to be down slow and steady.” tells all.

Charles Chicken or Sheikhs Beer or even my butty Tuna Singh can tell that whoever writes like this writes abt a woman downing her last piece.

And you ask “Let me see how I want to get it start…hmm.hmmm”. No need to hmmm lah, tim ah liu has very quick hands to start & finish it for you in a flash. Ai mai?

  24. Hi Chris

am interested in qigong exercise, but where do you hang out? if distance is a problem, will not be able to join you. tks, Janet.

  25. Hi Janet,
Good to know that. My group of ardent qigong group usually did an outdoor meditation at Upper Pierce on Saturday and Botanic Gdn on Sunday as early as 5:45am for minimum 1.5 hours.
If you could find your way there this coming weekend, do let me know.

    Chris
