Kala Vathi – Profile

I am Kala and I am an Indian lady. I would love to join the silverclub and waiting to meet my new friends out there! My hobbies are making handicrafts (e.g. Chains & Earrings & Bracelets) out of Crystals and Beads. I am working in the Singapore Airforce for about 27 years. I love Japanese Food and love dancing alot.

Currently I am learning dancing at the Community Centres and enjoyed very much. I also love to keep fit and healthy.

Thats all about me for now.

  1. Welcome Kala.

SHC is a multifarious group with interests as diverse as some wanting to walk on trees and some jostling for the danz floor with kids, not forgetting of cos the big guy who keeps crawlies in all his pockets.

Whatever, we strive to enjoy fellowship together and thereby create the bonding of a home away from home.

So do join us in our activities.

  2. Hello Kala. Welcome to SHC. I had just written to Patricia about learning to make jewellery with crystals and beads. Hope to do it with you and Patricia someday.

Looking forward to meeting you at SHC functions.
Btw, I love singing and dancing but my dancing is only restricted to simple dance styles. But still, its a form of exercise which helps keep our minds young. Take care

    Warmest Regards
    Caroline Gee

  3. Dear Kala,

Welcome to SHC, I am new too! Maybe, registered a couple weeks ahead of you. Do you think you could volunteer and spare some time to teach handicrafts to the folks in residence at elder Homes?

I will sponsor the materials etc. Please let me know asap.

    Regards,
    Edwin Chen

  4. Hi Kala

Welcome onboard. SHC is never short of activities. So my advice to you is dont wait but comes forward to share your interest and interact with us at our activities.

I too like to learn other cultures especially from the non-Chinese. Perhaps one day I would like to learn the Indian dance from you. I m serious.

I and a few SHC members would be organising a visit to an old folk home. Date has been set for Sep 07 but exact date to be confirmed later. We would be glad to have your presence.

Please do keep yourself updated by visiting SHC’s homepage regularly.

  6. Hi Lorna,

For the moment, I am unable to organized any such outing for SHC. In part, it is because many of our members are still holding day jobs. Therefore, week days are out.Personally, I can’t make it on weekends as I am quite busy with church activities. However,be on the lookout for SHC postings. Perhaps, someone else may come up with an impromptu weekend visitation.

    Cheers, Edwin Chen

  7. Dear Manomani,

Great! How are you doing? The best Japanese Food I ate was Sakae Sushi as for Vegetarian Buffet you can try at Little India (Madras Woodlands)the same row as Saranava Bhavan Next to Veera Kaliamman Temple. The food was good and cost $9.90 per person. I hope you enjoy!

    Cheers
    Kala
