  1. Hi Roland,

I was waiting for this, but the idea came too late, have committed to SGCC New Year’s Eve Countdown Party on 31/12/2007 already. Anyway thanks for organising this event, hopefully the rest of SHCians can enjoy and have a wonderful time together. :)

    Ah Nee

  2. Hi Roland,

Would love to join you ppl for the countdown but unfortunately your event came late as we have purchased our tickets one month ago. Susan, Nee and myself going to SGCC countdown.
Tks for organising and hope all of you have fun.

    Molly

  3. Molly/Ah Nee
It’s a real pity that we shall be missing both of you. Hope you have a good party at the SGCC countdown. Have a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year!

  4. How can you say you gonna miss them when you know where they’ll be?

    Heard of gate-crashing?

    Heard of friendship?

Yes, count on me as yr friend to gate-crash with you………………..but you walk first, you bigger size so when you charge even the istana gate will crash, very effective………..

  5. Hi Roland & John,

Suppose t go Aranda for the New Year Eve Countdown Party at $43/pax.

Luckily we did not commit ourselves last friday when we were there.

We love to join our group and have fun.

Please count us in and shall remit the money to your POSB A/C. Roland’s or John’s A/C.

    Best regards, Bessie & AndrewSP

  6. Caroline,
Don’t shout from your balcony. Your neighbours may send you to the asylum! Come and stand beside us and shout for GOOD HEALTH, HAPPINESS AND PROSPERITY and you’ll be Blessed by your SHCians!
    Bessie and Andrew,
    Thank you for your support.
    Tim,
Though smaller in size, I think you are a better “bulldozer” than me.

  7. Heee, Rol, I breed bulls part-time, and what I like best of my trade is when the bulls s, and when that happens, even my dogs believe their annuities will make them live till the female bulls come home to checkmate the bachelors.

  8. Hi Roland & John

Is wonderful to hear that both of you are
organising the New Year Countdown party at SAFRA
Mt Faber Clubhouse. So much as we like to join both of you and with other Silverhairs, we find that we have had already committed ourselves months ago to attend this year-end Countdown party at the Orchid Country Club, on 3lst Dec.2007. Even we can’t count-down with you in persons, we will still count-down with you in our hearts, and sing “AULD LANG SYNE”.

    ENJOY…..till the clock strikes twelve.

    Ron n Alice Lai

  9. Roland, sorry to turn down the offer to help in the celebration! I will be out of town for a week.

Do count me in. Should be back on time for the countdown!

Here, wishing all SHCians a Blessed Christmas and prosperous New Year!

  10. Hi Brother Tong,

Twenty O Seven is slowly creeping out. It’s wonderful of you to organise a year-end countdown for SHCians to come together to celebrate and usher in the New Year. Regretfully, I won’t be able to join you folks as I will be out of town.

To all of you, rejoice and have a good time, while I too will be merry-making, popping champagne and clinking crystal glasses away…

  11. Thanks Roland

Its that time of the year where I just want to “laypak” at home, makan, listen to some nice music and drop on the bed and “koon” anytime I feel like it.

  12. SHCians!
You are VERY slow in responding to the Countdown. We need the figures early to ensure a good time together. Please do NOT wait till the closing date. Thanks.
    Roland

  13. Hi Roland and John,

It’s great to have both of you buddy each other to organize this event. I will likely join however just need to check on one more agenda before I confirm.

    Thanks Guys!

    Grace Kok

  14. Butty, that’s easy.

I can help Rol to do some running around from now (96695702) up to 5 p.m. 31st Dec, which will include accompanying the gals attending the countdown to buy & try out their new dresses for the evening……….and escorting them.

So you tempted? Wanna help him too?

  15. Wei wei,

Tim & Yew Kwong, will your join in the countdown party. Roland & John need your support leh, the gals can take care of their own evening gowns and dancing shoes. How to party when only the gals are present and the guys are not around. Oh ya, Caroline don’t “koon” leh, the night is still young for you to countdown. Please ENJOY yourselves and I wish all SHCians a Blessed Christmas and a Jolly good 2008!

    Ah Nee

  16. Hahaha, butty, if the gals keep throwing out panties from the fitting room for you to catch then you si chau liao……bunga mandis also wont wash away your pall of missing 4-D for 7 x 7 = 49 days……..

Heeee, with eyes covered with triangles and strings, you think you get to peep meh?

ANee, honestly I hv nothing lined up for the 31st evening yet but over the last years, I hv chosen to reflect as I crossed the years quietly…..

  17. Jane, Dolly, Lisa, Christina, Mary,……after all the comments, aren’t you going to sign up? I had hoped that all of you would be the first to do so.

  18. Ah Nee
I started this “laypak” four years ago. Quite difficult to change unless…

Ha! Ha! Ah Nee I know you are going to ask unless what ah?

  19. Carly…
Your ‘laypak’,’kuay bak’ & ‘koon’ rhyme very well..hehe

Roland..sori, so kesian, only u hv Bessie & AndrewSP..me too hv plans with families..going camping & BBQ at east coast beach, watch the stars & moon to countdown & usher the new year
Carly…why dont u join us,bring yr tent lah instead of shouting at yr balcony..u might get arrested by yr nebor!

But Roland..nvm lah im sure there’s other new frens to make there…who knows..its a blessing in disguise rite ..hhhmmm :)

  20. Carly,

I know what lah, but with so many happenings….you won’t ‘kuay bak’ lor. Another alternative is to get someone you like (preferably a guy) to go with you, like that hor, you sure not ‘kuay bak’ but “Kim bak” (goldfish eye) haaa…haaa :)

    Ah Nee

  21. Hi Roland & John,

Bira will support you. I’m joining…

Wishing all SHCians “Bright & Joyful Christmas and Happy New Year.

  22. Yipeee, Yew Kwong “jia u”, “see u” “or u” whatever……sorry, very bored leh, borrow this thread to talk b’cos I want to ask Yew Kwong something and non of the thread can fit in. Yap, YW, I have stored my NZ pics into a CD, but how to put in music huh? I have seen my colleague’s “jiujaikou” pics with nice music in the CD. Can help?

    Ah Nee

  23. Ah Nee

I believe U r talking abt doing a slide show of all ur photo. If tats e case, U can insert music.

2nite, U just pop ovr Sunny’s plc n get his direction. He’s pretty gd at tis especially wif slideshow.

  24. Ah Nee

Get urself a digital photoframe. Wld be a nice decorative display 2 slideshow all ur photos.

  25. Yew Kwong,

When comes to IT technology, I am very “suah Ku”. What is digital photoframe? I don’t think I ever come across, what’s that? Btw, when you see Sunny, remember to collect money from him.

    Ah Nee

  26. ya lah..digital photoframe can store so many, but i think still some really nice ones must paste in pretty album, anytime can open & look & dream..no hassle..tiok bo?…hehe

    Ooopps!..this countdown thread!
Roland…now yr party got more boys than girls ah?..apa macam? Bessie & Bira u got 2 1/2 guys each!..hahaha :)
where’s all the other girls u mentioned?..all dissappeared..got their own all-girl party maybe eh?

  27. Neely – so you know I kuay bak right. You are so cute about kim bak. Just joking. No unless.. for me

Norly – thank you for inviting me to join you ECP BBQ.

I think I will “laypak” at home lah. I like the quiet at home. Also I like my bed more than the hard ground. OK promise not to shout from my balcony but will scream from my balcony he! he!

All you guys enjoy lah :)

  28. Ah Nee n Nor

Nor is rite. Conventional photo frame can only store/display a fixed number of photos where as a digital one can store as many much depending on memory sizes.

Photos can chng constantly or be static by pressing some buttons 2 choose ur type of display. They r wonderful n nice decoratives to be added 2 ur shelves.

I got one at home. Will show it 2 U e nx time.

  29. Yew Kwong,

Thank you so much, remember to show me the digital photoframe huh. I may considering buying one after seeing…hee…heee…
Roland, sorry for intruding, I finished talking already. Topic closed. Have a nice weekend everybody. :)

    Ah Nee

  30. Hey SHCians,
I put up this Post for those interested in the NEW Year Countdown and NOT for you to chat and solve your “personal problems”! It would make my task more diffucult if you discuss other matters besides the NY Countdown. Thanks.
    Roland

  31. Alamak!…sori lor Roland
Jangan marah lah…nanti lekas tua, must smile than look more handsome..hehe

Tata Bye..hv great weekend, till we danz again!

  32. Nor,
    “pagar sudah makan padi”
Harap kawan boleh tolong menolong tapi sudah membawa rebah! Time is very short for me to organise this event.Hope you appreciate.

  33. Sorry Roland, John,
Cant attend la… hv to attend customer’s function on dat day… u all enjoy the season and wish all of u have a great merry xmas and happy new year

  34. Wow!..Roland
Yr peribahasa very powerful!hingga menusuk di hati..hhmm

Understand yr plea, kami minta beribu maaf, very sorry, tui puchi :(

  35. Ok, folks, calling for some order here, please.

The closing date is 20th December 2007 which only gives Roland 6 days to collate and then 11 days to work on thereafter, doing the confirmation and coordination et al.

So it’s imperative that we see the urgency and steer it back to the main i.e. SHCians who would like to join in the countdown, do kindly respond early.

    Honestly, at $45. it’s a steal.

The Guild House throws its CD party at $80, and it’s in a far-fetched corner of Sg whereas Safra Mt faber is so close to the happening places where excitement converges.

Do pls give it a thought !

  36. Tim

I tink U shd oso join us. It does make a difference. We r numbering e dy 2 hit 2008.

So much abt talking, ur enrolment is most appreciated.

  37. YK, when it comes to year end I tend to be a little morose, what with nothing more to look forward to except more silverhairs and less libido?

    Nevertheless, I am getting persuaded…………

  38. Hi Roland & John,

Appreciate your effort in organising this count down at such late notice. I would like to lend my support. Please register me.

    Jane Wong,

Dolly can’t join, but what about you? Aren’t you going to register? Come lah.

  39. Hi Roland & John #21, guys really appreciate both of you to take up this at such tight timeframe :D

Also headache planning our family celebration which is held annually on Christmas eve/day. This year we cant have it on either as our children are grown, they have their ‘dates’ too and flexibility is necessary to accommodate majority. In the next days, result of the votes will be out hahaha.

Besides, this year end for me is akin to someone balancing the ‘see-saw’ busy with accounts closing etc and the unplanned sudden aggressive recruitment to catch the ‘young & good’ before the hols.

Surely, I will support if I am able on 31Dec, it is fun to countdown with the crowd.

Everybody, a Blessed Christmas of Joy, Peace and Love and your YR2008 be filled with abundance “good health & wealth”! :)

Btw, have asked Terence to change my login to ChristinaCL Chan to eliminate confusion betw those with same name. B4 your curiosity takes over ;) “CL” is the initials of my Chinese name.

  40. Hi Roland & John,

Sorry guys, not able 2 join u ppl as i hf committed myself in another count-down party months ago. Enjoy Urself and Be Merry.

    Cheers, DennisW

  41. Dear Lily,

With you around, how can I dont get involved…LOLssssss… if I cant find a gentleman to danceeeeeeee with…. at least I can count on you….

Roland, please count me in…thanks a lot for your time and efforts in organising such event

    Cheers

  42. Roland,

I know I said that I would support you if you organised our own SHC party for the new year. I didn’t think that it would be just a matter of ‘joining other groups’ at SAFRA Mt Faber. If I had wanted to do that, I would have signed up long ago for any of the hundreds of new year countdowns all over the island.

Frankly, the new year is a sensitive time for me and I think for many other SHCians too. If one wants to usher in the new year, one has to be in a great mood and have someone special or some friends to do so with, not a bunch of virtual strangers.

I know I sound sentimental and perhaps silly, but that’s how I feel and I understand what Tim is saying although I beg to differ on the libido part, hahaha.

Anyway, I still have 5 more days to make up my mind, so bear with me ok? Thanks.

  43. Mary,
I regret that you chose to call the SHCians who signed up as “virtual strangers”. Life is what you make of it. You reap what you sow. Friendships begets friendships. Love begets love………..How are we going to cater for your “moods”? You might not be in the “mood” to attend any SHC function until 200? So????????????
    Sooooo Sorry!
    Roland

  44. Hi Roland & John,

There are 3 couples whom I suppose to join them in Aranda for the New Year Eve Countdown Party.

I would like to ask them to come over my side to join our SHC group(SHCians) for the SAFRA Mount Faber NY Eve Countdown Party.

If they have not committed with Aranda Club.

If the Party is not solely for SHCians.

My friends are not SHC members.

    Cheers, Bessie

  45. Bessie,
Your friends are our friends. Certainly they are most welcome. Who knows, they might even find SHC a privileged club to join and make more friends. I’m sure Terence would be delighted to have them too.

  46. Roland,
You misunderstood me. I wasn’t referring to SHCians as strangers. I was referring to the others who will be there. Please re-read my comment before jumping to conclusions.
Btw, I did not ask you to ‘cater to my moods’. You so obviously didn’t understand half of what I said.

  47. Mary,
Of course I understood what you said. We have our own tables and will be sitting together. Why “worry” about others who have the right to be there. We have our own company at our own tables and should relish each others presence. I have taken great pains to make this event a memorable one for ALL SHCians, be they old, young, friendly or otherwise. Wouldn’t you still go shopping if there are “Strangers” around the shop? Let us be together and learn to bond with each other. I’ll collapse and have a third heart operation if everyone wants to know who are the attendees before they sign up.

  48. Roland,
With referrence to your email to me,

    “Date: Sat, 15 Dec 2007 23:01:25 +0800
    From: rolandthh@yahoo.co.uk
Subject: RE: [SilverHairsClub] Comment: “New Year’s Eve Party”
    To: meiliix@hotmail.com

    Mary,
I think it would be better if you let me know who you prefer as “company” and I can let you know whether they have signed up. Why don’t you get your “gang” to sign up with you so you could travel with them to Safra? Don’t you think it would be an insult to those attending to know that you do not want to attend because they are NOT good enough company for you? WE join SHC to make new friends and not to pick and choose people for our outings.
Secondly, it would be extremely cumbersome for me to keep sending names of attendees if everyone requests for them.
    Thank you.
    Roland”

I resent the fact that I am being ‘ticked off’ for something that never happened. You have thoroughly misunderstood what I said in comment #49.

Kindly re- read it and get your facts straight before you fire off such emails. Besides, I don’t remember ever giving you my email address. Please keep your comments to the SHC site.

After what has transpired, I’ve lost my interest to participate in your activity.

  49. Hi Roland,

Is oklar, I think I am also a ‘virtual stranger’ to most of the SHcians here becos I dont have the chance to meet and speak to them… but I am sure I would be able to change my status to ‘friend’ when I see them during the coming NY countdown celebration.

    New Year makes New Friends

Wishing all the SHcians Merry Xmas n A Happy New Year

  50. Roland,
If you read my comment carefully, you will know that I WASN’T referring to SHCians as “virtual strangers”. Besides, I didn’t ask you to send me anything. Everyone who has arranged any function for SHC has had a list of names of participants up on their post. That was all I was asking.
In future, please reply to my comments on the SHC site.

  51. Mary,
After putting up the “Post” for 1 day you wanted to know who were attending the Party. This means I have to keep sending you the names every time a person signs up. If you had suggested putting up the names on the website, it is a totally different matter.
    Roland

  52. Jane,
Thank you VERY much for your comment. That’s the spirit of Christmas! We have just a short span in our last lap through life. So whatever good we can do, whatever friends we can make, let’s do it now and NOT defer until the Good Lord takes us away.

  53. Roland,
I quote from my comment in #58,

“Everyone who has arranged any function for SHC has had a list of names of participants up on their post.”

Isn’t that the same as “putting up the names on the website”???!!!

I repeat, I DID NOT ASK YOU TO SEND ME ANY NAMES OF PEOPLE WHO SIGNED UP.

Anyway, I do not wish to continue this discourse with you. I can see you don’t have a comprehension of what I have said. You need to brush up on your comprehension of the English language.

It’s such a waste of time.
Besides, I don’t want to be responsible for your next collapse.

    End of subject.

  54. Hi everybody,

this is the EO-assistant speaking. was mia due to some other commitments. can see that the response is coming in quite nicely. but aiyoh, that little hiccup earlier is rather unfortunate. let there be peace! let’s cross over to 2008 with lifted spirit. it’s time for fun, fun and more fun!

Thanks to Bessie, AndrewSP, Dan, Yew Kwong, Edward Lim, Bira, Lily, Agnes Tan, Jane Wong, Helen Kuek, Chew Soh Hong and Lawrence Khan for confirming your attendance. Your support is greatly appreciated!

Lily, additional thanks to you for attracting Jane Wong. You’re a very powerful magnet indeed.

Jane, don’t worry about not having anyone to dance with you. If I see you’re seated, I’ll come for you. But you might end up being my instructor, you know? You’re such a smooth dancer.

Bessie, I personally think it’s perfectly alright for your 6 friends to join us. This is not an SHC-exclusive function after all. I have some friends who will be attending on their own also. Perhaps at the end of the evening, SHC might end up with 6 new members.

To all those who are hesitating, hesitate no more! Come and rejoice, reward yourself and say “I survived 2007, let 2008 be better”.

    see you soon!

  55. Poor Mary,
My comprehension may be poor but my memory isn’t. Let me quote your email to me dated 15th Dec.2007.”Hi Roland, Thanks for replying.Could you please let me know the people who are going? If I have the company to and from Safra Mt.Faber, then I will consider going. I don’t relish the idea of going alone and returning alone. Thanks. Mary”
Do you remember this email you sent me? I hope that you are not suffering from lapse of memory or worse still de……?

  56. Hi Jane,
No worry lah. There will be a queue of gentlemen waiting to dance with you. How can any man resist a sexy lady like you???? If I am a man, I’ll be the first in line.

    Hi Agnes,
Good that you join too. Didn’t get a chance to catch up with you during the T&T plus you are always hidding in the corner. No hidding this time hor???

    Dear Bessie,
Bring as many friends as you want as long as I get to keep my reservation boleh??? Heehee… only you know what I’m talking about huh? ;)

  57. BTW,
Where are the 3 musketeers hah?? Cherly Ho, Elizabeth Hwang and Janet Ng – please sign up leh. Your Batam room-mate already signed up and none of you in sight. Why? No corners at The Dance Floor for you to hide isit?? Come and count down with us and get some dance-xercise! Hope to see your registration soon ok?

  58. Lily,
Thanks for the words of encouragement to all SHCians. I wish there were more like you in SHC. As John has said, you are like a “human magnet”. The Malay saying goes, “di mana ada gula, disitu-lah ada semut”. (Where there is sugar, there’ll be ants.)A good and fluent dancer like you will always be in demand.

  59. Hi Lily,

Thanks, have to check whether my frens have booked the tickets for the other party. They have got to Genting. Will inform Roland on Tuesday morning.

Please make your reservation in the new event.
The previous reservation in the previous event is not counted. Ha…Ha… :D

    Cheers

  60. Dear Mary n Roland,

It very clear that we have a misunderstanding here. Let bygones be bygone! Don.t let the sun set with your anger.

Let usher the New Year 2008 with a bang!

Let try to ‘smoke peace pipe’ How about we get Roland to sent you home if you come and join us or i will do it!

  61. Hi Roland

Just trf $90 to ur account 4 myself n Edward Lim. Trx ref : 1485861108 (lohyks). TQ.

  62. Hi Roland/John

Ok, we shift direction. I’m coming with 3 other ‘virtual strangers’ to support you. Let’s entertain ourselves to a ‘Prosperous 2008’

    Cheer Up
    Ann Lim

  63. Hi Roland & John,

So very sorry. My 3 couples fren already booked for Aranda Party and a group of 8 people from SGCC also booked a table at Riverfront Hotel.

Not so bad, another couple, Janet & Michael are joining us to celebrate the countdown into Year 2008.

    Please register them.

We shall remit $180.00 to your account soon

    Thanks, Bessie

  64. Ann and Bessie,
Thank you for your effort in bringing “virtual strangers” to our New Year Party. I’m grateful and LOVE you both!
May the New Year bring Good Health, Happiness and Great Wealth to one and ALL!

  65. Hi Roland & John,

Just transfer $180.00 to your account for Bessie, AndrewSP, Janet and Michael.

    Trans. Ref: 1485989037 at 12.37pm

Thanks for your effort and endurance

    Bessie :D

  66. Hi Jane, 100% agree with what Lily said, how can any man resist a sexy (and straight talking, and charming)lady like you.

Unluckily, I’m not dancing well this year. So I can only hope that I’ll be the first in line at the end of 2008 countdown (not joking but very serious).

  67. Hi Roland & John,

Aiya! Just received another confirmation from 2 friends.

    Please register Connie & Jonathan

    Remit payment now.

    Thanks, Bessie:D

  68. Hi Roland & John,

Just remit $90.00 to your account for Connie and Jonathan.

    Trans Ref: 1486028754 at 1.04pm

    Thkq. Bessie :D

  69. Hi Andrew Yeung,

Thanks for sayng such nice thing on me (same to u Lily, u r so sweet). So Andrew, arnt you coming for 2007 countdown? dont wait until 2008 lar ….. whether ppl can dance or not is not matter….as long as they have the courage and passion to dance…. everybody can do it and enjoy the fun of it.

Shall we Dance ……… to all the dance enthusiasm

  70. Andrew,

Wah, “Tai Loh” got pretty & sexy lady Jane, you forget old friends huh, come back only want to dance with charming Jane, some more hor, seriously first in line to dance…. ha…ha…haaaa……

Jane, I should have join you all for the countdown, but nevermind, we shall danz again in the near future. Enjoy everyone till we danz again… :)

    Ah Nee

  71. Dan,
Thanks for trying to be the peace maker. I will miss your company, but I have no wish to associate with a certain character who insists on twisting what I said. You enjoy yourself. I will have my own celebrations elsewhere with other SHCians.

I never referred to any SHCian as a “virtual stranger”.
I quote, “I know I said that I would support you if you organised our own SHC party for the new year.” Note the words, “OWN SHC”.

I didn’t ask for the names to be “sent to my email address.”
I quote, “Everyone who has arranged any function for SHC has had a list of names of participants up on their post. That was all I was asking.”

I’m sick and tired of this issue and I don’t wish to associate with any goblock who chooses to distort what I say.

A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all my friends at SHC.

  72. Hi Mary,
Perhaps, this is reli a little misunderstanding. Not every members in SHC will hv d edit feature to edit their own post. Edit feature will b given only if 1 hv 2b EO officially appointed by Terence and the event must b solely for SHC members oli. You must agreed that if every1 are given tis feature, it will be chaotic rite cos every1 can edit each other posts liao..

Hence, Both Roland or John are not able to post the participants’ names in here as they hv no edit facility to do so currently. Rite now, I am helping them out on this.

Mayb they r oso new members like u, hence they r not aware of this restrictions.

Hope dat it will help to clear sum misunderstanding.. ok…

  73. Dolly, thanks.
It’s not the edit feature or whatever. It’s the way my comments were twisted that irked me. There was no misunderstanding on my part.
Btw, I have nothing against John Howe, only my best wishes for the new year.
Anyway, thanks for trying to help. You have fun and have a Happy New Year.

  74. John Howe,
You hear that or not? A Merry Christmas and all good wishes for a Happy New Year to you!!

  75. Hi Roland

It’s so gracious of you to come forward and organize the New Year’s Eve party for us. My work schedule that day is heavy but I’ll support your effort.

Do you mind if I come late? Can I also invite a girlfriend who is not quite 45 but almost there.

If it’s ok, then kindly reserve 2 tickets for us.

    Thank you,
    Eleanor
    A Virtual Stranger

  76. I shd hv the use of my kid’s computer earlier.

    Let’s look at the facts.

At Terence’s prompting, Roland volunteered to organise a CD albeit a bit late as most ballrooms hv been snapped up by that time.

So, it looked like the best alternative was to take a few tables at a location which is open to anyone paying. Roland has no choice but did just that. This isunderstandable.

Equally apparent to me, since it wont be a SHC event exclusive to SHCians, and as Mary is fairly new to the Club and has not met many of us, she wished to know who may be attending. So she asked.

(Unlike tim who can break ice as effortlessly as he breaks into the range of eyes, many of us arent as comfortable or at ease in the company of folks they hvnt met. This too is understandable).

Normally, the names of attendees will appear in the event-thread done thru an “amend” feature which wasnt made available to Rol and which Mary didnt know.

To me, it was an innocent question. Sadly, at that point in time when it was asked, the response was lukewarm and Rol (and John) must hv felt quite disappointed, being volunteers & first time organisers for SHC.

I believe, with the understanding of each others’ actual position/situation, it becomes easy to understand why the misunderstandings. And if misunderstandings are now understood, there shdnt be any more misunderstanding and if folks still persist to misunderstand, trust tim, he wont miss standing under that person and doing what he knows best…..

tim is in throes and still can cheer up so you all must be able to cheer up even more…..c’mon !

Ok, I go pick up my kid now & play with you all later……….

  77. Hi Roland & John,

Pls register my name in the list. Will remit $45 to ur account later.

    Cheers
    Eileen

  78. Thanks, Roland.

Presumably this event doesn’t require much planning. But if you do, I’d be able to help you this week as I’m on my holiday leave now.

  79. Hi Roland & John,

Just transferred $45.00 via IB Ref.No. 1486510592 to ur POSB Savings account 030-02524-5.

    Cheers,
    Eileen Lee

  80. Thanks Jane,

I think I cannot join the event. When I asked my younger son what is his program on the countdown, he told me still no plan now. Without being a good father for a whole long year, I want to at least to show him some care at the end of the year to accompany him in the countdown. Still wishing him can have program with his friend on the night.

    Neely

How can I forget you, my old friend? You still owe me a gift, so I must remember you lah (this time is joking, don’t take it seriously). But be frankly, Jane is my fuel to learn dancing (I promised her I’ll do my best in learning dance and show off to her in 2008). That’s why I hope to be the first in the line. Me and you can dance anytime we meet and I really enjoy to dance with you because both of us is half glass of water, so funny.

  81. Hi Roland/John,

Cfrmed I’m in, will do the transfer within the next few days.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all SHCsians. 2008

  82. Andrew,

Yes, I can understand, children always come first in parents’heart. So I wish you and ur family a wonderful new yr eve celebration.

    Cheers, jane

  83. Dan/Tim,
Thank you for trying to “make peace”. I kept my silence to let the matter rest but am being defamed by being called “goblock” and accused of “poor comprehension”. If you read my comment 63 which quoted an email from my accuser, you’ll realise the whole truth. I do not engage in defamation in order to justify myself as it could lead to possible litigation but prefer to present facts such as “emails” from the original author to substantiate my statements.

  84. Roland, John,

Although I am unable to join you for the New Year’s eve party, I like to congratulate you for drawing so many people to join you in crossing over to the new year. Have a great youthful time.

    Terence Seah

  85. Roland and John,

Indeed the dark clouds are moving out of sight, let’s all celebrate … please register me for this event.

    Grace Kok

  86. Hi Roland (aka Virtual Stranger)

As confirmed, 3 tickets in total for me :)

    Thank you.

  87. Hi Mary Chan,

Wah, so loud. Yes, I can hear you loud and clear. I’m so touched by your greetings. Thank you! I’m also wishing you a Great X’mas and all things nice for 2008. May Peace, Joy and Good Health be with you in the days ahead.

Keep smiling and go easy on your wine….John

  88. YeungAndrew,

You are really taking a very big gamble. You want to wait for 2008 countdown and hope you will get a Q number for Jane Wong? I think you better buy some kind of insurance for this! Jane Wong will be gone in 2007! Competition very keen you know, brother Andrew?

    Ah Nee,

Don’t worry, no Andrew, never mind. There’s still John lah! But hey, you’ll be on the other side of the moon leh. Let’s see how on 31 Dec. I think you can just come over and join us bringing Susan, Molly, Ronald etc with you. Dolly will also try to chabot from her party also. Sounds great doesn’t it?

    Cheers and have fun….john

  89. Wait for me John! I’m coming! Make sure you save a dance for me hor. I see all the hands up, I buay tahan oredi.

  91. Ok lah John, you are so lovable and kind, I will dance rock & roll with you huh. Andrew said: “both of us is half glass of water”. I think what he meant is “half pail of water” (meaning half pass six). So I better brush up my steps lah. :( When the moon disappear, we will come over and join you all and party till wee hours….meanwhile keep practising till we danz again. :)

    Ah Nee

  92. Hi Brother John

You use a wrong word – “gone”. Agreed with you that the competition is very keen. So, what can I do? Close my palms and pray – the guy not so attractive and not so good in attack at that night loh.

Btw, it seems that you want to take all my female friends always (no Andrew, never mind). In this way, can I still call you Brother.

  93. Wow..wow…wow…looks like more happening here leh, all the jokers are going to Mt. Faber for the countdown…hmmmm…I am going to miss the fun again. Let me see what I can do, maybe I count from 7,8,9,10 at SGCC, then I go over and continue to count from 11,12 midnight……..he..he…he… :)

    Ah Nee

The ATM is in the same bldg as my work place so very convenient; besides still skeptical to do online with this bank as it is popular so attracts attacks to their security system. 116. ALL SGCians,
Thank you for the Support and the Canvassing that you’ve done to make the New Year’s Eve Party a SUCCESS. I must also thank Dolly and John Howe who have helped me in the organisation of the Party. Last but not least, all the well-wishers who had encouraging words for me to persevere and ensure that the Party would not collapse!
Have a Blessed Christmas and a Healthy, Happy and Prosperous New Year!
