Thank you all for showing interest in the Reunion Dinner. I’m just involved in a small way in the logistic arrangements. Main call is still with the EO.
I felt the same way as Kenneth Tan that price could be the main concern but I thought it was a little premature to abandon the event when there was response for 1 table within 4 days.
Nevertheless, I’m sure Roland will continue to organize many more interesting events for all of you although this particular one is a failed attempt.
Although the Reunion Dinner is not to materialise, I wd like to thank Eleanor & Roland for their initiative and look forward to another time.
Incidentally, I now realise that I am a lucky man, not so much a descendant of Liu Pang, Liu Bei but more bcos I am not a son of Sum Seng or Sum Ba Wang.
Tim Liu will feel no guilt eating Tim Sum when Eleanor/Roland organise the next feasting.

I missed joining U guys at e CNY celebrations at Outram Park. Heard e fd was delicious n gd. Guess e price U paid was reasonable cos Benson was then e earthly guard at ur table. As such “e chosen one” now been appointed e heavenly guard 2 chk e fd prices up there lor.
What a shame!!
And to think that we have to join the Tim Sum dollies at Fortunate Restaurant on the 16th….
I venture to guess that the amount ($45.00) was a bit too high to get a really great response.
Whilst on this subject of costs, the Fortunate can also be costly if you opt for the many other dishes besides the tim sum.
The staff will cajole you to order these other dishes. So together with Yu Sheng the bill can also be high.
Last year, after our monthly meeting, we went to the temporary Chinatown food centre at Outram Park. There we had a great meal of yu sheng, song fish head, pork ribs (pai kuat wong), etc all at a reasonable price. I also remember our dear departed friend Benson at the gathering.
Dear Friends,
I regret that due to poor response, we have to call off the 2008 SHC Reunion Dinner. My apologies to all who had the intention of signing up for the Dinner. Terence recommends that we all join the Tim Sum Party on the 16th of February, 11.00am – 2.00pm
Hi Roland,
Please include, Gwen, Eliza, Ah Nee and and I for the reunion dinner.
Thanks Roland for the enlightenment
Marg Tian,
This was an impromtu suggestion brought up during a recent meeting at Scoreboard. Our President meant it to be a cheap Dinner gathering for the majority of SHC members. However, it seems that the price is prohibitive and so the response seems slow. However, for what you are getting, it is NOT expensive. The purpose of this gathering is to usher in the Chinese New Year and to make new friends and establish old acquaintances.
Sorry i’m quite blur. What’s the reunion about?
Is it for old timers or a pre CNY reunion dinner?
Btw I’m an early aquarian (maybe that’s why blur like sotong?)
Hahahaha, more aqua hv come out to claim fame…………Terence, you wont hv to sweat over what to put up for yr concert…..expect a scintillating AQ Show…..
(Ooops, Roland is quietly walking up to me with his hands behind, holding smthg long & straight, eyes spewing fire & body taut like a stealth bomber……..still every cm that strict, no-nonsense disciplnary master…..)
It’s refreshing that for once, guys outnumbered gals…….4-1 todate.
Eleanor will be spoilt for choices & fun…..
Yes, count on me!
