  1. Fortunate Restaurant is in Toa Payoh Central, next to the Library and a short 10 minutes brisk walk from the hdb hub. It’s on the 1st floor, 2nd level.

Looks like U nid 2 extend ur dateline once again.

As Lucky Rest is xpected 2 be quite crowded, pls dun squeeze extra 2 each table landing much discomfort otherwise some of us may land up as dishes on the tables.

  3. Hi
In the spirit of SHC & CNY, I would like to offer 3 fellow SHCians who live around Bishan but don’t drive, a car-ride to the Dim Sum lunch.

Meeting Place:- Olio Dome, Bishan East CC
    (along Bishan St.13)
    Date & Time:- Feb 16, 10.15am
Details :- Pse email your mobile no. & name to jong62@yahoo.com if you would like to go together.

I will post the 3 lucky persons’ names here. First come, first served basis. Advance apologies if you are not in the chosen 3…

  4. YK,
I’m Not extending the dateline anymore. The problem is I’m unable to contact those who had signed up but kept silent since the closing date. Terence says he does not have their contact. I had written to some but got only responses from 40% of them saying they had difficulty using the ATM! Well, I suppose I’ll have to bear the cost of those who had signed up but failed to pay up on the due date. It’s ok. “There’s no better teacher than EXPERIENCE”
You don’t have to worry about being squeezed in a table as the maximum allowed is ten. There’ll be 8 courses of Tim Sum Plus 1 “Lor Hei” and everyone will get his/her portion.Chinese Tea will be served but if you order any other drinks, you have to pay for them.Towels and peanuts will be served F.O.C.

  5. Hi Roland

Let me assist U wif the unpaid collection. We still hv close 2 ten dy n I believe these unpaid registered members will definitely pay up. Trust me n let me hv their names.

    Hi registered unpaid members

Talking abt ATM trf, it shdnt be a prob. If U encounter prob using ATM 4 trf pls seek help fr us here. Alternatively trf money thru use of Internet Banking is even simpler and ez.

  12. Hi Ah Nee,

So you don’t need a lift from me huh? Not to worry, will chope a seat for you if they let me.

Well, I did not cook anything western that’s for sure. Can’t possibly tell you here. Tell you when I see you.

HELLO JONATHAN ONG, my car can take 3 pax.

Here’s wishing everyone out there a very Happy & Prosperous Year.

  13. YK,
You are like a gallant knight to the rescue of ……… Well,Do you know the following who have registered but NOT PAID? June Lee, Philip Tan, Susan Goh and Margaret Chan? I’m fairly confident of 47 (42 Paid,5 Promised to pay and they appear reliable though I’ve not met them)

  14. Roland,

My heart goes out to you.

Ooohhmmm….. You should not worry your self with payment and other clerical administrative matters. Here’s help at hand. Next time consider arranging for registration and collection through a professional payment gateway from Scorebot and save yurself a lot of trouble. From cash machine to cards to on-line. Doesn’t matter if you hold the event at Scorebot or not; just that it is a SHC event. Spend more quality time talking cock, socializing, enjoying the company of members and making money instead. Running after damsels-in-distress is much more fun than after white knights.

I wish I can join you guys for dim sum and dinner, but my own eat load is chock-a-block.

Last night alone, I have two full course Chinese dinners back to back. My lack of co-ordination is not only from alcohol, but also from the overdose of mercury from yusheng that I have ingested.

Here’s an interesting CNY game for you guys. I was exchanging cookies and liquor with friends. Each of us boasted that we found the best pineapple tart and port the after-dinner wine not PSA) in this universe. To resolve the matter, we had an impromptu blind test.

Inspite of the brandy that we have drunk, it was surprising that we actually selected correctly. We chose from the same cookie jar and the oldest pirate port costing $200+ per bottle.

Interesting aside is that someone bought port from a wine shop which now brings them in barrels and rebottle them here. It is a little like Mr. Beer except that they don’t actually sell kits and they don’t make them here. Suppose to be great value for money. It is very drinkable but it is young port. Perphaps we should organize a barrel of fun for SHC. Group to buy and bottle a barrel. It will be barrels of fun.

The mind is willing but the body is weak. Another excess of chlorestral and my doctor will declare me DOA (Dead on Arrival).

Happy Chinese New Year. Practise moderation and remember to enjoy your prosperity.

  15. YK,
No need to pursue the matter. If you see the original thread, I have obtained my quota. So those who did NOT respond will NOT be included, namely, June Lee, Philip Tan, and Lim Lay Har
