Pictures of the 2nd Dinner & Dance, 29 Mar 2008

Hi Caroline, Dolly and fellow SHCians,

I was hoping to have the photographs up on this forum last night.  Overslept, and too tired last night.  Well here they are.  http://www.silverhairsclub.com/SHC/SHC080329/.  The photographs were taken by Dan Huang and Yew Kwong.  Supereb shots.

No prize for getting it right, but can you recognise the names of everybody who came last night?  Which picture do you like best?  Which was the funniest shot?   Can you suggest which picture or which picture crop we can use to replace the banner of our website?  Alright, let your thoughts run wild.

  1. For the banner picture at the top of the website, we can have a single picture shot or a group photograh. The picture should spread exactly and nicely across the width of the website.

Go ahead, and share your suggestions.

  2. Terence,

the pictures are very well taken. Love those close up shots.

For once, I actually look nice in photos.

Last nite, was too busy to notice. Now I can see many Mei Nu and Suai Ge in SHC.

Glad I chose this theme as I can see how lovely the ladies look in their lovely gowns, make up, accessories and all.

  3. helo Terence

Thank you for the lengthy speech that nite ,nonetheless everybody listen attentively..it was so meaningful, comically & beautifully delivered!
Terima kaseh for the little limelight & the prestigious ‘oscar’ for cakap2 too much in the forum hehe!

DanHuang & YewKwong…wow!..so many nice shots!
I can see that everybody enjoyed & smiles everywhere..that was a memorable nite indeed!

  4. Hi Terence at #1 ,

    My suggestion:-

Why not let SHCians vote which picture with its label to be the banner,

And the one with the most no. of votes will be chosen as the banner.

It gives the SHCians a say and a sense of belonging too.

  5. Thanks Dan Huang and
    Yew Kwong,

On the whole, the pictures were beautifully taken except for a few ,it appears too dark due to the dim lighting at the ballroom.

V.Good Keep up with the good shots and SHcians will shout for more.

  6. Hi Terence at 4,

    To add on:-

If the best chosen picture does not fit the banner, the next highest voted picture will be considered.

And so each SHcian will have a choice of 5 votes for the BEST 5 ,in terms of priority and within a short time frame of say 1 week.

Anyone who voted more than 5 will be disqualified.

Of course,Terence will have the last say.

    My 5Cts. worth.

  7. Everything is so beautiful! The whole event is so beautiful, food, games , speeches and everything . yes everything. I had a great time . Thanks to the organiising comm., the company and my new found friends. But if Robert had not sent me there I would have missed out all the fun and of course Roland who made sure I got home safely.
I love the pictures. But i wish i can extract some of them to print them out. I even hope to email a picture to my ex-student in Canada. Vain me – just want to show off to my student whom I have not seen for donkey years . Can any IT savy person teach me how to do this?

  8. Hi Rosalind

You certainly had two (Rs) Romeos to escort you to and from the fabulous evening event at The Pines.

You also had another Romeo to accompany you in an opera ballad duet (???) before the start of the D&D event.

You had three Romeos in company on one dinner and dance occasion, an envy of many, young Juliet!

How fortunate and blessed you are just like the 130 of us last Saturday.

Now the pictures retain that memorable occasion for posterity.

  9. Hi Terence Seah,

I had created a new post on charcoal cum steamboat international buffet at Sunset Way under residential activity.

    Pls.vet and approved. Thanks

  10. Hi,Caroline and all the committee members of the D&D – Well Done! Thanks for all the hard work put in. It was really an enjoyable night at the D&D last Sat…Philip

  11. Thanks Dolly. did as instructed and has succeeded in sending the pictures.

Do you know your deliberated Singlish that night generated so much laughter. Well done.
Oh the picture i really like is the one of robert queck holding the fan and umbrella use that silly grin on his face. very cute picture. His Japanese dance was really hilarious.

Ok Andrew , one of these days we shall do another duet complete with those chinese outfit and head gear . How about that?

  12. Hi Rosalind, you are welcome and glad that you enjoyed the event also. Will c u more often in other activities… Yeap, Robert is cute, in fact, he is best performer dat nite…

Wow, hoping 2c Andrew & you perform duet 1 of these days, maybe during next Talentime?

  13. Dear Rosalind / Dolly

As you please, will complement the Princess. Then you have to read the opening line and 3rd line too in Cantonese.

Not for competition, for the appreciation and love of the opera ballad – yes.

    Cheers,

  14. Aiyo, Andrew, u jump d gun 2 fast liao, I din said anything abt competition in Talentime mah.. I m saying dat both of u can perform during TT so that more SHC members got d chance to listen la.. Maybe u hv not attend d TT b4, we usually have casual singing aft the competition lor.. :)

  15. Thanks Terence for the selected beautiful photos and the person/persons for the layout of the NEW COLOURFUL,REFRESHING
    EXTREME makeover SHC banner.

Some of the apple green text hyperlinks are not so clear in some spaces.

May I suggest, that it should be placed just below the photos and not camouflaged by the colourful photos.

Kesian, we are 45 and above.
What more for those in 60s to 80s ?

Have PITY and mercy for our “fading” eye sight.

  16. Hi Robert Quek,

You look so CUTE and adorable in the Japanese clog dance.

    A great performer as well.

Media Corp should scout for talented persons like you in their advertisements for Senior Citizens just as Mary Chan endorses for frozen food in the AVA advertisement.

Mary, sales of frozen food in NTUC is not picking up even after claiming that frozen food has the same nutrition value as FRESH meat.

S’porean customers are a discerning lot when it comes to fresh food.

They know what is best for them.

    Work harder AVA.
