  1. Hi Vivian,
Thanks for the info, but do we need to know something before we can join in or it is ok just to join in and try to follow on our own.
Also care to share a little of how long you have been doing this, how much you know etc. I have had very good experience with it but have not really learn or practice it, but will be glad to learn more about Qigong. Can contact or email me or bswi@yahoo.com. Cheers

  2. Hi Ronald
Fyi, this qigong group started about two years ago when the Master Mr Wei Lingyi came to Singapore from Gemany.
He was here only two months that we learnt from him.
Now he still teaching qigong in Germany and sometimes in the U.S.
When the Master was here, we had more that fifty people
but now we still have about 10 die hard fans in the group.
Yes, it is ok just to joint in and try follow on your own, it looks easy, you just walk slowly in a big circle, but the impact is great, I felt good and fully charge after that.
We welcome anybody, and you may leave any times,we just want to share what we had or exchange experiences.
(No practics if it’s raining or the grass is too wet)
so, just joint us if you see us there, no fix times too, some start at 7am with zhang gong (stand mediate) then Lotus walk at, lastly xiang qi fa, it end at about 0845am.
I always joint them at 7.30am.
Be there if you can, feel free. enjoy the morning dew, and the marvelous garden we have, although now I have to pay car park.

    Health is wealth….

  3. Hi Vivian,

    The qigong sounds interesting.

I recently heard a master practioner that this exercise can
CURE diabetes and high-blood pressure and alleviate many
of the ailments caused by our modern, fast-paced lives.
I almost want to sign up with him after all his sales talk.

Do you or any of your qigong frens can bear testimony to this claim?

Do you conduct basic qigong classes? What’s the fee like?

    james

  4. Hi Vivian,

You must be the first to talk about Qigong. I wish you can develop and encourage more people to join the Qigong group. If it were not for my schedule, I would love to join in too. Please keep sharing with us the three different types of Qiqong. If you like, you should start to develop a list of interested SHCians, and keep them update weekly or monthly. Have fun.

  5. Yes, James. I have also heard and read about qigong can CURE diabetes and high-blood pressure and alleviate many
of the ailments caused by our modern, fast-paced lives.
I only know a little bit, so I cannot conduct any class. My shi fu said ‘you don’t have to pay a lot of money to learn from it but you must practics it very often, any time, any way, any form, like the wu lin gao shou.’
Joint my group in Botanical garden, it’s free.
Come and experience yourself. I’m sure all kind of exercise will do human good.( we, human just need to move, right!)

Ya, I agreed with you Terence, I hope I can develop and encourage more people to join the Qigong group, develop a list of interested SHCians.

    Cheers

Was feeling blue this morning not until I read your comment at #3, it really makes me laugh. I am new in SHC, but reading your past comments in different posts, it concludes that you are the livewire in SHC. Keep up your comments and jokes….

  7. Haha, thank you Stella, your sweet remarks too make my day. Btw, with a nice name, you shd always be in yr stellar self enjoying sterling excitement all the time, and trust this TGIF is no different……………..

  8. Thanks Vivian-L for putting me on top of your list and I too have a list……my list very long one leh, now where to put you? heeee……………

Jon-O, why waste so many steps – 18 in all – when you cd enjopy more fun with fewer steps. Yes, you got it, it’s bei-long of which you were once its undisputed champion, famed like Phelps. Organsie a class and I will be the first to jump with you. 1 leg, 2 leg or on all 4s, up to you.

  9. Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for sharing the Taichi18 instructions.
I was about to join a Taiji class in Sept @
a CC near by place but yet to register.
I think I shall now practise on my own and see how
    it goes.
May I ask, how long one has to practise before one can
feel the beneficial effects on one’s health.
    Rgds,
    Constance

  10. Hi Constance,

Am no expert, just tried it out for awhile only. Needs a lot of self-discipline for DIY, thats why some prefer to join a group, like Vivian’s.

anyway, looks like at least 3 mths practice is needed to obtain health benefits according to the founder of this style …. http://www.taichi18.com/

“”I have learned more than 30 different styles of Qigong. Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi is one of the most effective and easiest to learn. Most of my students are able to master it in just a few lessons. And many of them can feel the presence of ‘Qi’ traveling in their bodies after practicing for just 3 months.” Sifu Wing Cheong

  11. Many years ago, when i was staying in Marine Parade, I have done qigong on the beach in the mornings, and I must say it is very refreshing. Easy & healthy.

Would love to resume, but cannot find a group near my place, since i moved to Tampines.

Going to Botanic Gardens is too far for me, as i do not drive.

Hopefully, we can start a qigong group in SHC.

Vivian, will u be coming to the NSRCC chalet on 12 Sep? Perhaps we can slot in a qigong session?

    Cheers, Lydia.

  12. Yes, Lydia, I think I will come on 12 Sep, meet you all at MRT and go together, but I will leave at 7pm as there’s another chalet to go.
I like your ideas, why not if it can be done, we got a lot to learn from each other, and I’m really looking forward for it. see u there.
    Cheers
    Vivian

  13. Vivian, it is set then. We will have a mini qiqong session on 12th Sep @ the NSRCC chalet. Timing to be confirmed, but should be sometime before 7pm. Perhaps we can combine that with my afternoon nature walk. We walk to a nice spot on the beach, & do the qi-gong.

Jonathan, will u be coming on 12th Sep to the Chalet? You can show us the 18 steps taichi. I have also tried the Chen-Tze style tai chi being taught in Tampines CC, but found it to be very tough. I still prefer the simple qigong.

Constance : are u keen to join us on 12th Sep @ NSRCC?

Anybody else keen? Pls register on my thread “what’s happening on 12th/13th Sep? Thanks.

    CHeers, Lydia.

  14. Hi Lydia,
Yes, I’ll take this golden opportunity
to kick start my knowledge of Taichi qigong.
I’ll meet up with you and Vivian on 12 Sept
    @ Tanah Merah MRT.

    Cheers,
    Constance

  15. HI Vivian & Constance.

Look fwd to meet you on 12th Sep. Pls let me hv yr email address, or alternatively, leave a comment on my thread “what’s happening on 12th/13th Sep”.

We’ll combine the qiqong with the nature walk. We’ll walk along the beach & find a nice spot. As for taichi, I don’t think i can remember the steps. We will need someone else to help. Jonathan.. are u coming?

    Cheers, Lydia.

  16. hi lydia
am not sure if i can make it for the nsrcc getogether…hope your taichi group will blossom!

anyway, me only self-taught beginner in 18 steps, and am doing up to 6 steps only currently…have not been too disciplined lately ;-(

  17. Hi Jonathan.

    Thanks for the video link.

The 18 steps qigong looks simple. We can easily try it out on the beach on 12th Sep during the nature walk @ 4pm.

Those who want to join in, pls register on my thread “what’s happening on 12th/13th sep?”

    Cheers, Lydia.
