  3. Norlinda,

Your Hari Raya preparation must start now hor, don’t wait untill want to “pangsai” then go and find toilet. I only know you sew curtain only, the rest is your maid & relative’s job. So you better relax relax and join us for cycling……

  6. Hello hello Chin Boon,

I enjoyed every cycling event with fellow SHCians, especially with the “Rojak” gang…..ha…ha…ha…now with you around……aiyo! must adjourn to the hawker centre to eat rojak lah. :)

    Ah Nee

  7. Hi Rene,

Is nice to have another rose to join me for the long distance ride, otherwise there will be too many thorns around. Hahaha………… This is a rare happening in SHC events.

See u later at the Han’s!

    Veronique

  8. Hi Patsy

Finally – was wondering when you’re going to sign up. I’ve got feedback that you are a strong cyclist, and can even out-cycle the guys…..heehee

  9. Hello hello, Lina, Steven, Ah Nee, Suzhang, Charles, and Molly (my sincer apology, can’t recall when I last met you? Old age lah), you lovely people

No lah, just lying low while Hurricane Jane hit its fierce category 5. Now that the coast seems clear and weather cool, this early bird catches a glimpse of the sunny day and hopefully this is not just the eye of the storm that can ruin a day of good cycling and yummy rojak when it returns. See you all there!

Suzhang, at your request, I might just bring Bam Bam along. Must he register too? :-)

  10. Hi Chin Boon,

Is Bam Bam at least 45 years old? If not, he cannot register. But bring him along anyway. We’ll have fun.

And cos you went into hiding without our permission, you’ll have to buy us another round of rojak!

  11. helo ChinBoon..ChinBoon..
u heard me?…u mana pegi?..sudah lama hilang..u kena hurricane jane ah?..hhmm, always wonder why hurricanes must have a lady’s name?…hehe

I am glad that u came out alive & kicking!..ooii!..next time don play play too much hor..must behave like bambam..so kwai kwai..goodie boy..so adorable :)

Lina…u don bully him lah…everytime he kena blanja rojak…
so kesian, this time we all treat him boleh?

  12. Lily @#28

Not true, lah! They punchan, only!
I was cycling so hard to catch up; without them I don’t think I can complete the 120km.

    Warmest Regards,
    Patsy

  13. Hi Lina Ng,

Bam Bam is 8 x 7 = 56 yrs. old and so he is highly qualified to be registered as a silverfur club member.

So Chin Boon, pls. bring cute and handsome Bam Bam along.

  14. Hi Lily, Albert and I will join the long distance at 3pm to prepare for Desaru.

Douglas, can we give you final answer on 20th whether we are still going to Desaru after this cycling exercise? very takut la…no confidence as this is the first time we are doing this but I am definitely inspired by those who can cycle th 120 km ride !!! We cycled yesterday from ECP to the SAFRA resort (which is peanuts to you guys) and our buttocks already hurt! But I am definitely more focussed now and going to train harder at the gym on weekdays.

Pls drop me an email with your mobile # just in case I need to get in touch with you? Email is maggieteo_0517@hotmail.com

    See you on 20th !!

  15. Hi

Rode a bicycle only once in my lifetime some 10 years ago. Am keen to join the members for a time of enjoying the breeze blowing against our faces and the scenic view along East Coast Parkway. But, before I could do that, need to know if there are any beginners as well. Would not want to hold back anyone. Please advise

    Thank you.

    Cheers
    Agnes

  16. “Rode a bicycle only once in my lifetime some 10 years ago. Am keen……for a time of enjoying the breeze blowing against our faces. ……. Would not want to hold back anyone….”. Let’s analyse this writer.

    1. She rode a bicycle once in her lifetime and that was 10 years ago. I suppose in her case, riding a bike is like climbing the coconut tree; you need only do it once and it’s knowledge for life.

    2. Enjoying breeze blowing on our faces. Well, dont dismiss pelting rain esp when it has been raining many afternnons lately. So pls dont wear heavy make-up otherwise she could return in many colours like red indians.

    3. No worry of holding back anyone. We dont cycle on and on; we do make a u-turn and you are actually ahead of us when we return.

In conclusion, she is most welcome as she will certainly add colour and life to the cycling group, and above all, do care for others.

  17. Hi Douglas,

My name is Eileen Ang, think I seldom join Siverhair
activities due to work commitment, hence, I wish to make it
for this cycling trip and join you guys on the 20 Sep 2008-21sep 2008, please include me for this trip, and I need
    to rent a bike too.

    Thanks

    Eileen

  18. Hi Eileen Kang
I think you’ve got wrong post. Douglas have another cycling post for more advance cyclists on 27-28 Sept.

To find his post, go to “Latest Post” (Short Cut box – 2nd box on top left corner). Click on drop-down box next to “Filter”. Click on “Cycling” then click “Filter”. You should be able to find Douglas Chan’s post.

    Happy cycling :)

  19. “…………Click on drop-down box next to “Filter”. Click on “Cycling” then click “Filter”. You should be able to find Douglas Chan’s post.”

Lily, dont bluff bluff Eileen leh. Correctly, the last sentence is “You should be able to find Douglas Chan and his potty…………….”

  23. Hi Douglas and all,

Wonder you want to consider cycling the long distance in the morning as some of us have the NDP Appreciation dinner in the evening.
So for those who want to do it in the morning please voice your preference here, and maybe we can jhave a group going out to CV and back in the morning. Suggesting to start as early as 8am. Cheers.

  24. Hi Patrick
    #41

Thank you for your support, Looking forward to seeing you and the other members for a joyful ride. Oh Oh but as Tim had said, it might rain. let’s hope for bright sunny day.

    Aiyoh Tim #42
As usual lah, must dissect and bisect the comments ah. if not cannot sleep right. Enjoy reading your review though, very funny, made my day as I’m coped up at home today. As you said, like climbing a coconut tree, only do it once and it’s knowledge for life. I can except to giddy up and ride eh?

    Cheers
    Agnes

  25. Huh ? Hahahaha, how did my name slip in and sitting on the 34th rung. Put me higher leh….or maybe at lower, can see more when looking up.

Well Agnes, what your “coped up” means, for sure you srent cooped up waiting to be cooked or when they turn off the light, spooked.

  26. Hi Ron #51

Sorry, I can’t shift the time to morning as it is our monthly cycling event and also I need to catch up with members that I have not seen for a long time.

    regards

  27. Hello RonWie,
You want to churi the cyclists hah? Don’t be like that leh. I want to have dinner with Douglas hor.

    Douglas,
I’ve never really have a chat with you. Can I share your dinner table this Sat? :)

  28. Hi Lily and Dolly

Like tat hor, how to say bai sai leh, long time no see sure ai sai one for dinner.

I no go cycling liao, I sit at table and wait wait for you all to come.

  29. Hi Douglas #47

Thanks. Recd your email but I recd another email from Ron Wi to say it is at 2pm. Could you re-confirm which is it, pls ?

Tim, glad to c u start exercising again.

  30. Hi Douglas,

I would like to join you for the ride to Changi village, etc to Siglap back to ECP, correct?

I will be there at 3 pm.

Tian Soo, You, or your butt must have had a good rest since your last ride. Why don’t you join us this Sat? We can also talk about our Laos trip then. Also good exercise for you too, surely a win-win-win decision.

    Cheers to all

  31. So far, 10 out of 38 going for the long distance. Yeah — “Jia You” :)

Attention : All long distance cyclists

Douglas said that long distance cyclists should meet before 3pm as the start-off will be at 3pm sharp.

  32. Hi Lily #63

Thanks for reminding long distance cyclists to meet BEFORE 3pm as we intend to start cycling at 3pm

I should be at McDonald around 2.15 pm and we will take a slow walk to the bike rental shop from McDonald at 2.45pm.

    Hi Maggie #60

You may ignore Ronald W’s email as he will not be cycling but rollerblading, thus he wishes to start early at 2pm.

Our cycling route will be different from Ronald W’s route.
This trial run predules our cycling trip to Desaru next weekend, so you have to join us in cycling.:)

I will be seeing you, Albert,CharlesC and Tian Soo and all cyclists going to Desaru at McDonald before 2.45pm.

    Thank you and Happing Biking

  33. Charles + Douglas

Douglas says the the crowd is less after the hawker center. I want to avoid the crowd. If some kid crash into me, it’ll be more than my butt that will be painful.

I’ll go to the last public carpark. I think it is call Car Park G at about 3pm and wait to join you guys on your way to Changi Village. Lookout for me…..I am the fat old guy with white hair, struggling to keep his red bicycle upright.

  34. Hi Tian Soo

I would prefer that we meet at McDonald and proceed from there but since you preferred car park G, do wait for us under the small shelter near to CP G.

Charles, please look out for TS.

Cyclists have to look out for other users using the shared path and also to slow down while riding in crowded places.

    regards

  35. Hi Yew Kwong, Jade and Boon Liang

Yesterday was my maiden (guess who brought the rain) cycling trip (to Bedok jetty only la) with the group and I would like to thank you for your selfless help to get me and a couple of other newbies along.

I am glad I went though I am still a little sore at unmentionable places.

The spirit of giving, caring and sharing was heartwarming.

    Joy

  36. hi douglas, after yesterday’s grueling trial ride yesterday, Albert and I’ve decided to give this desaru trip a miss. now every where ache.
special thanks to Patsy Lim, Rene and John Seah with their patience in waiting and guiding us.
Was also glad to catch up with some familiar faces at dinner. With the bubbly duo
(Lily and Molly)who recommended the delicious Mango King …. yummy…. Was totally the most enjoyable day for a long time.
We hope to be able to continue to join the cycling group.

Tim, where art thou man? Was hoping you’ll be there to make both of us look good leh.

  37. Douglas – thanks for adjusting my seat for me, it save my arse and I was able sleep on it last night.

Rene – appreciate you waited for me at Bedok jetty and looking out for me during the ride. This old man is still alive and well. Thank you.

  38. Hi Lily

Thanks so much for organising the wonderful outing, it was a great sunny day even though it rained for while.

My special thanks to Boon Liang, Yew Kwong and Jade who had taken the time and effort to teach me how to ride. Jade specially held to my seat all the while I learn to pedal. She was so patience and encourging.I heard that newbies succeeded riding the bicycle under her coaching. My apologies for any soreness in your arms, Jade.

Tim #42 “riding a bike is like climbing the coconut tree; you need only do it once and it’s knowledge for life”. Not true in my case.

I also met other members whom I had not met before. I enjoyed the fellowship, the good food and yum yum dessert.

Thanks everyone for the spirit of sharing, caring and giving as mentioned by Joy.

    Cheers
    Agnes

  39. Maggie, I left after 7 p.m. when folks headed for dinner at c-nai………..a bit down that evening but spirit was lifted with sunderland beating Boro but now down again with Man City leading P’smouth 2-0 and still looking good………

  40. Thanks Douglas for accepting me to join in the long distance ride with all the seasoned riders. Appreciate your patience especially when I held up the pack due to my slower pace.

Daniel – much thanks for being the hero who escorted me throughout the ride and helped to push my bike up and down the overheard bridges. Sorry for being a burden to you.

And not forgetting Maggie for spontaneously offered your gentle hand when I fell off my bike. Arigatoh! Surprisingly my bones are not aching but I’m now nursing my bruises on both legs and hip.

No more long distance ride for me but kwai2 stay put with my regular cycling kakis.

  41. Maggie @71, Tian Soo @72

Not at all. We look out for each other’s safety.
Rest well and c u both again at the next cycling meet.

    Veronique @75
Rest well and pick up again! Soon, you will be one of the magnificient riders.

    cheers
