Holiday, Anyone? Hainan?

Hi, SHCians

Anyone interested to go for a short holiday with Eyvonne and me which we planned on Oct 31 to Nov 5’08.  We planned to go Hainan/Sanya lor.. But as I am going thru directly with the land operator in Hainan, the whole land tour will only be conducted in Chinese.  The land tour cost right now I have is RMB400 (subject to change) for a 4D/3N iternary, 4-S accomodation with 6 meals and 3 breakfast.  As Oct/Nov, the flight timetable had been changed to morning flight instead of normal 4.45pm return to SG hence, I had added 1 additional free day in Haikou itself so we can roam freely at our own leisure.  As dates planned are considered off-peak, the air ticket cost is ard $300 inclusive of taxes but of cos, must book early to enjoy this lor emoticon.  As for tips for local guide and coach driver, I m proposing S$2/day/pax emoticon.  Of cos, those that prefer to leave as planned, are also welcome to do so lor..

Those interested to join me can email me at dlgummy@hotmail.com for the proposed itinerary.

  1. Hi Dolly,

Tks so much for the planned trip. Just wondering maybe if there will be one again for next year, then some of us can join you then. Of course subject to your timing. Many regards.

  2. Hi Celia,
Thanks for the interest. Cant reli say abt next year lor.. depend much on wrk sch. But don’t think I will go there again for holi so soon since I m on wrk trip to Haikou quite often. I am planning this 1 cos I promised some of them that I will organise 1 for them this year.

Hainan is not so good for travel during mid Nov to Feb cos of raining season and at times, flight and tour might get cancelled and since we are going on our own, this timing is definitely out.

Mar – June/July – Weather not too bad but we will bump or rub shoulders with their local cos is their so called holiday period whereby lots of local travelling in n out of Haikou.

July – Sept – Too bad to travel to Haikou which I usually will omit unless I got no choice which I meant work trip cos it is reli too hot n humid.

Oct – early Nov is the best timing to travel as the weather is very cooling and not so much worry their raining season lor..

Nevertheless, if u need to know more info, just let me know and I will get my China counter-part to help u on this.

    Cheers… Dolly

  3. Hi Dolly,

Thanks so much, no problem, no worries, am just curious that’s all. Hope to meet up with you soon in other SHC events. Thanks again, best regards.

  4. hainan is a dream destination even for seasoned travellers. See, it’s only on Hainan island can you find Haikou, and theses sea dogs are cute…they come as tua kou, siow kou (if you read “siow” in mandarin and in hokien, it adds 2 more varieties of dogs).

By the time you get to meet all types of kous, yr 7-day holiday comes to an end, and you cant wait to return for kous, so much so that like the canton say, chan hei kou ng tim lor………….

  5. Haha, quite true. When they were here over the weekend, motorists gave them a standing ovation in the form of a traffic standstill. SPGs dolled up but knowing not what the hell was going on, incontinent ah pors and ah kongs in public transport were all singing the aiyoh, ai ai ai ai ai ai aiyoh……………..and if you were one rushing to the A&E in an ambulance, you probably experienced more deaths than any cat had or ever will.

  6. Hi Dolly!

Gd la change the dates some more till I could join le!
U all choose the dates I can’t go! Very disappointing.

    Hi Dan & Joy!

U heard me or not? I can’t go because I will be pretty busy on those dates! Can’t take the risk le!

    Sigh…

  7. “U heard me or not? I will be pretty…..” You already are even without the holler. Also can read that you’re busy on dates…..how much did you pay ah Sengh to arrange those date-eating dates for you?

Btw, you die die also must change yr dates. Reason is obvious. The dates Missy Tio Bo has booked coincides with the visit of Haikou’s uncle and his family. It’s a rare treat to see not only a Haikou but also Harkau, his wife Siewmai and their son Charsiewbao.

  8. Hi,
For those that are thinking of joining us and will be purchasing the air tickets soon via internet, pls make sure that you include 1 baggage (at least 15kg) in your booking, if not, you are only allowed 1 7kg handcarried bag only.

Unless, there is request to get group travel insurance, if not, pls buy individually.

I will be closing this post after this comments and pls email me directly for further details. Thanks… Dolly
