  1. Regret unable to attend monthly meeting to give update on Friendship Force International due to previous engagement. So very sorry – perhaps we can have it at the next meeting.
    Thanks for the opportunity, Dolly.

Jane also unable to give origami demo, but hope to be available at next meeting.

  2. Hi Dolly

It is a fact I have never register my attendence at Silverhairs monthly meeting, simply because it will take me a day or two prior to attending to be able to “exchange” my work-duty shift and plus “claiming” one-hour of done-overtime so as to leave my workplace at 6pm instead of the scheduled 7pm.

This time I shall be able to confirmed my attendence as since mid-April a Internet-gaming outlet opens for business within walking distance of my apartment block, unlike previous occasions where I had to go to a public library to communicate via internet which is not more than twice weekly.

    Regards

    Abel

  3. Hi Dolly, I’m a new member, will attend gathering, but not sure where is this place, I work in Tuas so not familiar in town area, which is the nearest MRT? regards..Eileen

  4. Dolly….Dolly,

  8. Hi Dolly Lim,

My apologies, as I am one of the culprit who will turn up without attendance registration in advance. Reason being, I am on shift duties. At times, I would also be called back to work even on Off shift or Off days. Hope that I can get AM Shift on 17 Jun and I will be there for the gathering.

  16. Hi Richard,
Sg Lembing was the world largest producer of tin ore at one time. Now, there is no more of it and this little town (60 km from Kuantan) look like a sleepy town of the fifties of Spore. The only modern building is the Museum. There is a crystal cave and a reclining Buddha cave to explore. There are several cable bridges build by the British for some added excitement.

    Hi Norlinda,
Expect spartan accomadation and rough out with the mosquitoes. Food good but non halal. No night life, maybe karaoke with hotel TV or MJ. Will give more details on 17th June gethering.

    Paul

  17. Paul@32…
U don bedek lah…no halal food?..malaysia everywhere also got food for me lah..

In that case…I shall ‘pressure’ Chin to bring us kesian ppl to Padang/Bukit Tinggi lor….how about July or early August? (20Aug start fasting mth oredi!)

  18. Hi Dolly,
I’ll be late as I’m coming straight from work and hopefully, I don’t miss the turn this time like I did last time. C u all! Lisa

  19. Hello Dolly,
Please register me for this gathering.
Also, tentatively for Christina CL Chan, she will try to come in, if she can get away.
    See you ….Jie

  20. Aiyoh Dolly, don’t make me ‘pai seh’ leh! I only come late ‘cos got work to do lah, not like some of you who are so lucky to be ‘tai tai’ or lady of leisure who can come and go as you please – maybe in a year or two, I’ll be able to join you ladies too. C ya! Rgds, Lisa

  21. Weiwei Lisa, no nid 2 paiseh la, frm I read frm cmts for Padang trip, u sure deserved tis compliment ok..

    Jie, ChrisCCL, welcome n cya

Alamak Sockie, lucky hor, I saw ur request appeared in another post, bo hor, missed out.. paiseh oredi..

For those new members dat wuld like 2 request 4 name tag, pls put up ur request here n if AnneC is unable to provide u wif 1, I will make 1 4 u, but hor, mine very simple 1.. no fanciful design.. just name only, ai sai bo?

AnneC, perhaps, u can input here, who r those dat u hv already prepared their name tags so that there is no repetition on their request.. Can?

    Hv a nice day… Dolly

  22. Hi Dolly,

No prob. Will include new comers for their name tag. One suggestion, perhaps, you can also get those who want their tags to be made, I can do the designing and email straight to them. this way, even though I can’t make it to the gathering, the required can stll reach them, right?

Hi hi, my email is everson_theblueplace@hotmail.com

  23. “Hi…,thks you very much and to those who need a name tag, pls fill in ur reqt here ok……”

Very inviting and so he, who has been with me for the last 7 months, is tempted. Not a member yet but is no less hopeful that Auntie Dolly will oblige and make him a plain, simple name tag that carries a very short name “DOG”. Obviously he wont mind if it’s mis-spelt, from right to left………

  24. Hi KingSeng, noted with thanks n will c u ard… Dolly

Aiyo Ah Tim, apa macham har, i/o tellg u ai lai mai, u now tell me u 1 2 change 2 ur name leh.. so u ai lai mai?

  25. My constant companion asked you for a name tag but you came back to ask me to change my name. Wonder what Sengh did to you (inside & outside) to make you makan assam instead of apa macham?

My answer to yr whether I will attend is simple : just roll lai, mai off yr lips repeatedly until you get stressed out. The word that last slips out of your mouth will be my answer.

    Ready? Start now……………….

  26. Hi TanSW, Jane, Feztus, welcome.. cya.. Cheers.. Dolly

Hi Anne, do u hv the name tags for both Jane Ong and Susan TanSW har… Pls let me know.. Dolly

  27. Paiseh paiseh Feztus.. u rite la.. lau huay bak liao.. Tks 4 kind understanding n corrected liao..

Hi Mega, welcome n cya.. Cheers.. Dolly

  28. Hi Dolly #53

Yes, I have Jane Ong with me but not Susan Tan. Want me to do one for her?? Meanwhile, I will try to consolidate those name tags that were prepared before me and will send you the name list as soon as my time permit to you so that there will be no repetition…..

    Regards,

    AnneC

  29. Hi Seah-majorie, do u mind dat I hv your name for registration?

Hi Alice TeoCC, noted that Alice TeoCH will be coming for this monthly gathering, however, I will need to know if she is registered member, sorry, need to let know as this gathering is solely meant for SHC members only. Appreciate update on this. Many thanks…

  34. Hi Dolly,
I notice that my name is on the attendees list for the upcoming monthly meeting. I did not register and wonder if there is another SHC member with identical name and surname. Cheers.

  35. Hi AliceS, sorry, wrong name, thousand apologies..

    Yes, TaiLor, noted your attendance..

Hi Paul, pls be informed that there is no power point at all inside Hans’ Cafe…

    Cheers.. Dolly

  36. Hi Paul

Phew!finally can log in and have my say. Thanks to Yew Kwong.

Am rather interested in the trip after Batu Pahat, however, scared of mossie, can’t help it. Got sweet blood, lor!
But then why choose Lembing if it is just a sleepy town with nothing interesting to offer? Won’t Kuatan be a better choice? (No offence meant to anyone)
Will C U all at the monthly meeting for further details.
Let me take the opportunity to thank all the organisers for the enjoyable trip to BP.

    Lena Ho

  37. Hi Lena,
Kuantan is a big town just like the others and you could get there easily and with many choices to spare.
Sg Lembing is 50 kms away off the main trunk road you will not normally visit by yourself. I have been to this place a couple of times to realise the attraction that bring me back for more. Just like the BP trip, if the accomadation and food part is taken care of, coupled with some good company, that would be the formula for a enjoyable trip.

    Paul

  38. Hi Paul Kong

I would like to join you to see Sg Lembing out of curiosity. I am also keen to revisit Lake Cini near Kuantan and Kinyar Dam off Trengannu.

Hope to meet you at next week’s gathering.

  39. Lena @ #82, Paul @ #83

Agree Kuantan hs many choices 2 spare. Hvnt been there 4 donkey yrs. This morn I wld be there 4 a wedding. Will explore ard n most probably 2 plan a cycling trip here after my Jul’s Ipoh trip.

From info n map on the internet Kuantan hs gone thru some drastic changes since my last visit.

  40. Hi Dolly #70

“Can I hv hand-ups to help with the that day registration pls.. Cheers… Dolly”

If you need me to take care of registration, I can do from 5.00 pm to 6.30 pm.

    Please register me.

Since I have line dance class in the evening, I will come early and leave by 6.30pm

    Francis

  41. Paul

The Sg Lembing sounds interesting EXCEPT for the mossies bit:0(

If the trip is not right smack in my monhtly reporting which is the beginning of the 2nw week of the month, I am game to go (armed with all kinds of mossies repellent).

Budding photographer, Karen….you wanna go and shoot some more photos and maybe ‘shoot’ the mossies too kekekekek

    Sockie

  42. Hi Dolly

I noticed that my name has appeared twice on the list of attendees. Pl help to delete one unless there are more than one persons sharing my name n with similar surname too, hee. Maybe I didn’t make myself clear in my previous comment@#82. If so a ‘thousand apologies’.

    Lena Ho

  43. I recently bought two original DVDs from Mumbai. I have watched “Lucky by chance”. This movie is about a starlet and a struggler, navigating themselves thru the Hindi film industry and ending up changing each other lives. Fate, destiny, desires, opportunities, that’s what it is all about. In Hindi, with English subtitles.

But have not watched the other “Slumdog Crorepati”, an award winner Hindi film. It features a boy Jamal Malik, an 18 year old orphan from the slums of Mumbai. He is just one question away from winning a staggering 20m rupees on India “Who wants to be a millionaire.

Watch one of the two movies, and maybe you will enjoy Bollywood night. I will bring both on Tue night to Hans, and if you want to borrow it, say yes, and if you are there that night, I shall lend you.

And one day, we shall all dream of going Mumbai, Goa and Ahmedabad.

    Terence Seah

  44. Sockie

No photographer yet , still waiting for Cecil to comment on those photos at Padang..

if timing is right , I will join u la…my son too happy that the mummy travel so often (haha)…

    Terence

SLumdog is a very nice movie ..I watched it twice and think the story line is very interesting.

    karen

  45. Paul,

I won’t be able to attend the monthly meeting but guess Terence and I would like to “chop” the backseat of your car to Sungei Lembing, as declard by him under Batu Pahat thread. Rite Terence?

  46. Hi Lawrence, Jessie, Frisna, Pearl and Anne, welcome n cya.. Dolly

Hi AnneChua, pls note the request from Frisna and Pearl on name tags… Many thanks.

  47. Hi Rene,
I take it as a compliment to “chop” a place with me.

Terence can I borrow the Slumdog DVD on 17th. Will return to you before 9pm. Tks.
    C U,
    Paul

  48. Hi Dolly,

    Paul

  49. Hi PaulK and SueC,

I shall have to pass the Slumdog and Lucky by Chance to you another day as I am not able to come for this mthly gathering. But i definitely reserve them for you.

Dolly, kindly take out my name. Have fun.

    Terence Seah

  50. Hi All attendees for gathering 2molo har, pls bring along ur name tags if u still hv them. If not, try request 4 1 now but not sure if u r able 2 get them on time anot? If not, as usual, will use label sticker to put in ur name.

Hi Franics, with regards 2 ur email 2 me, pls note
    1) I will prepare the name list for registration and email to u by tomolo latest. If u can, print out n bring along, if not, I shall do dat at my end.
    2) I think I will be there ard 5.15pm.
    3) It is ok u hv 2 leave ard 6.30pm 4 ur line dance class, I will take over from there.
    4) Just mark a tick against those registered members.
    5) As 4 those walk-in unregistered members, write their names on the registration list and nicely request them to register next mtg lor..
    6) As for non SHC members, 2 bad, if not earlier notice is given to either Admin, Terence or me, hv 2 reject their participation.

Hope that the above guidelines are clear now. Thanks for the much help.. Dolly

  51. Dolly #107.

    Your guidelines are very clear.

I will try my best to print the list of registration. I will be there around 4.50pm ( better to be early than late ha ha)

Thanks a lot for allowing me to leave around 6.30pm

    Francis

  52. Hi Dolly, i will be coming tonight! Cancelled my other karaoke/dance outing at my club, so that i can come by 5pm to play board games, with Dan & hoping to find joy too! I was intending to cycle there (from Tampines) with Eileen Thean, hmmmm.. still thinking about it….. c ya !

  53. Weiwei Admin,
Thomas Loh called me hor 2 say dat he hor LLP, 4get his p/w so hor cant log in 2 register leh.. Kindly reset his p/w ai sai bo? Dolly

  54. Thanks Dolly, i will bring my game set “Taboo”.. its a charade game, and should be fun. I was thinking of adjourning to Bellini for some really good music & dance, wondering if anyone out there might be keen to come along? I think we need to get in b4 9pm, for the happy hours, otherwise there’s a cover charge. Not sure if this cover charge applies to ladies too? I understand there’s 3 free drinks for all ladies @ 11pm.

  55. Dolly,

Pls register Marlene Yap, an inactive SHC member but I’ve told her to join in to get some of the SHC members. She’ll be there around 6-6:15pm. Thanks, Lisa

  56. Hi Dolly,
I’m Cecilia, new member. Pls count me in for the gathering! Looking forward to meeting everyone for the first time.
By the way, I am really bad at board games.
    Cecilia

  57. Sorry Dolly,
I mean for Marlene to get to know more of the SHC members, not to get some of the SHC members, hahaha…. My apologies for typing and sending too quickly. Thanks.

  58. Cecilia #125, Nice meeting you yesterday evening and if you hadn’t told me, I wd have thot you’ve been a member since day 1! Glad to know you anyway and hope to see you at more SHC activities!

Dear Mary Chan, many thanks for teaching us the Golf card game. It was great fun and we behaved like small kids with all the squeal and laughter. I’m sure all those who’ve just learnt the game enjoyed it too. Thanks again for sharing.

Frisna, I can see that you’ve picked up the game pretty fast and already teaching Lawrence & rest yesterday – well done!

My apologies for not being able to say hi to everyone but glad that I got to know a few new faces. Have a nice day everyone! Rgds, Lisa

  59. Hi All,
Thanks for attending this gathering last evening.

Hopefully, by the next mth, we will have either Frisna or Lydia to come up with some ideas for July mhtly gathering.

Hi Lydia & Frisna, as discussed, pls feel free 2 organize any event u can think of for the next gathering and you can be rest assured that we will definitely be supportive. Cheers.. Dolly

  60. Hi Dolly, since you have other volunteer (Lydia) may I be the EO for august or Sept instead? (as i’m still very new to the club – only 2 meetings, better know more of the members first before suggesting any program). ok?

Hi Mary Chan, thank you too for teaching me the Golf card game. you’re quite pretty with such a fair/smooth skin. no wonder the guys were “drooling” when you mentioned about going swimming last Sunday.

Lisa, aiyah, now you discover i’m a fast learner in card/gambling thing, hope it’ll not put you off for playing mj with me and Paul one of these days….

Cecilia Lim: nice meeting you yesterday too and I think you’re quite fast in grasping the “memory & luck” card game. hope to c u again next month!

  61. Lisa, Frisna and all who participated in the GOLf card game.

I was very happy and always will be, to share this game with you all and anyone else who is interested to learn. I had a lot of fun on Wednesday and was pleased that all of you picked up the game so quickly.

It’s a very simple game to master but difficult to maintain total concentration throughout the 18 rounds and no one can predict who will eventually turn out to be the winner.

For those who are curious as to why it’s called GOLF, it’s because players go through 2 rounds of 9 games and the one who ends up with the lowest score is the winner. The challenge is the ability to keep focused for 18 rounds.

So, anyone up to the challenge? :-)
