Life saving article on Stroke

To all fellow SHC members

Hope this article will prove effective in real times of emergency, especially to those members who have elderly parents / relative staying with them.  I think it would be useful too that we should pass on this info to our children for their knowledge.

"From a Chinese Professor .
Keep a syringe or needle in your home to do this… It’s amazing and an unconventional way of recovering from stroke, read it through it can help somebody one day.

This is amazing. Please keep this very handy. Excellent tips.
Do take a minute to read this. You’ll never know, ones life may depend on you.

My father was paralysed and later died from the result of a stroke.  I wish I knew about this first aid before.

When stroke strikes, the capillaries in the brain will gradually burst.
When a stroke occurs, stay calm.

No matter where the victim is, do not move him/her. Because, if moved, the capillaries will burst.

Help the victim to sit up where he/she is to prevent him/her from falling over again and then the blood letting can begin.

If you have in your home an injection syringe that would be the best.

Otherwise, a sewing needle or a straight pin will do.

1.    Place the needle/pin over fire to sterilize it and then use it to prick the tip of all ……10 fingers.
2.    There are no specific acupuncture points, just prick about an mm from the fingernail.
3.    Prick till blood comes out.
4.    If blood does not start to drip, then squeeze with your fingers.
5.    When all 10 digits is bleeding, wait a few minutes then the victim will regain consciousness.

6.    If the victim’s mouth is crooked, then pull on his ears until they are red.

7.    Then prick each earlobe twice until two drops of blood comes from each earlobe.

After a few minutes the victim should regain consciousness.

Wait till the victim regains his normal state without any abnormal symptoms then take him to the hospital.    Otherwise, if he was taken in the ambulance in a hurry to the hospital, the bumpy trip will cause all the capillaries in his brain to burst.

If he could save his life, barely managing to walk, then it is by the grace of his ancestors.
‘I learned about letting blood to save life from Chinese traditional doctor who lives in Sun Juke.

Furthermore, I had practical experience with it. Therefore, I can say this method is 100% effective.

In 1979, I was teaching in Fung Gaap Collegein Tai Chung.

One afternoon, I was teaching a class when another teacher came running to my classroom and said in panting,
‘come quick, our supervisor has had a stroke!’. I immediately went to the 3rd floor.
When I saw our supervisor, his colour was off, his speech was slurred , his mouth was crooked – all the symptoms of a stroke.

I immediately asked one of the practicum students to go to the pharmacy outside the school to buy a syringe,  which I used to prick his 10 fingers tips.

When all 10 fingers were bleeding (each with a pea-sized drop of blood),after a few minutes, his  face  regained its colour and his eyes’ spirit returned,

But his mouth was still crooked. So I pulled on his ears to fill them with blood.
When his ears became red ,
I pricked his right earlobe twice to let out two drops of blood .
When both earlobes had two drops of blood each , a miracle happened.

Within 3-5 minutes the shape of his mouth returned to normal and his speech became clear.

We let him rest for a while and have a cup of hot tea , then we helped him go down the stairs, drove him to Wei Wah Hospital . He rested one night and was released the next day to return to school to teach.. Everything worked normally.
There were no ill after effects.
On the other hand, the usual stroke victim usually suffers Irreparable bursting of the brain capillaries on the way to the hospital. As a result, these victims never recover.’ Therefore, stroke is the second cause of death. The lucky ones will stay alive but can remain paralysed for life.

It is such a horrible thing to happen in ones life.

If we can all remember this blood letting method and start the life saving process immediately, in a short time, the victim will be revived and regain 100% normality. "

  1. Hi Myra

Thanks for sharing this! Read this article a long time ago (forgot where) and it’s good to have this information again.

  2. Hi Myra,

This is a very interesting procedure to save a person, hit by a stroke. We have a few other SHCians who have given tips on recognising and saving a person from the severe consequences of a stroke.

Myra, what is the logic of pricking the finger tips and the earlops?

  3. Being the big sceptic me, I have my doubts whether the process will save or merely wake the person up from unconsciousness.

Is there any doctor in our midst to say how good this finger pricking is? The lawyer will say that pricking another’s fingeer, while not causing grievous hurt, is assault.

I’m not being skeptical but what will the doctors’ reactions be when you check in the patient with blood dripping from all his finger tips and earlobes too? What if he doesn’t recover from the stroke? Will you be held responsible or worse, charged with causing his ‘injuries’ and possibly his death?
What with all the sueing and counter suing going on nowadays.
    Anyone care to comment?

  5. Hello Terence #2 and Mary #4

First of all, let me clarify that this article was actually published at one of the “Stroke” websites.

My first thought would be that it will be very handy technique for saving precious lives and useful knowledge for our SHC members to know (i.e. if it really works) – that is the reason why I am sharing.

Terence – I suppose the logic is to activate the nerve at our finger tips and earlobes. My 2 cents worth only.

Mary – As I have re-read the article, it says only “2 drops of blood from each earlobe” and “a pea-sized drop of blood” would seem to be sufficient. So I suppose it would not look too bloody. I feel it is best and wise to check quickly with a Doctor before trying this.

It actually would be very interesting if there are any Doctors in our SHC group, including any qualified TCM practitioner to comment on this. And if any members out there have real life experience on this before, I am sure we would all like to hear from you.

    Please share your thoughts.

  6. Hi Myra,

The internet is full of information. It is very dangerous to quote from the internet and paste the text onto this forum. The way you have written the post, especially with the large amount of text, does give the impression of some truth, with some validity and authencity. I am unable to verify the procedure you have published, but I strongly discourage such “copy and paste” from the internet.

For those who readily pick information or URL links from the internet, please be aware you could be causing harm to fellow SHCians.

  7. Hello Terence

My original post to the SHC Administrator was actually
headed “Needles can save the life of a stroke patient –
    extracted article from the Internet”.

Somehow my post was corrected and posted in the
    Forum.

Anyway, I have taken note of your comments.

    Thanks.

    Myra

  8. Hi Myra

The “extracted article from the internet” was deleted n names of some persons were edited while the rest remained. The reason behind is that (I foresee) SHC members will post/ask u questions directly relating 2 article u posted be it yours or taken from the NET.

Most times articles posted on the NET cant be verified or authenticated unless u are the author. If the title remains (w/o editing) your article wld hv been deleted n not published. Thus we dont encourage articles taken from the NET copy n paste here.

  9. As we get on in years, chances of us getting disease stricken increase. So it’s good to share what we know as “cures” and we have had sharings on diabetes, gout and backside pain. It’s therefore understandable that if someone comes across an article on healing, cure which, she believes, holds truth, one will want to share. (It is helpful to disclose the source tho).

Then, it is for us readers to give our views, accept the suggested cure or raise doubts or concerns over what some of us see as deficiencies, even flaws. A lively discussion can ensue which may also result in some myth being debunked.

The desire to share is to be lauded. The discretion on the Administrator to edit is to be respected.

A stroke victim needs medical attention immediately as every minute counts. Thus, it’ll take a lot of time to prick all 10 fingers and the ear lobes, seeminglky, the sole purpose is to wake the victim up. Even if it works, is it worth the wait? And if it doesnt work, how much time would have been lost?

However, I may be mistaken and the discharge of blood from finger tips might actually save life. So, I asked for a medical opinion…..we do have many friends of dogs but apparently, we dont have a doc in SHC yet.

  10. I don’t think we should embark on any DIY mission in this area. I would exercise caution and ask myself whether I am going to save him or kill him.

When it’s a haemorrhagic stroke, where the victim is already bleeding internally, this blood-letting is definitely going to be disastrous. On the other hand, if a plaque is causing the problem, this blood-letting will cause the plaque to travel and aggravate the situation. What will be the repercussions? You might end up with a lawsuit even? I leave that to your imagination.

Best that you just call 995.

    Have a nice day everyone.

  11. I know my cousin saved his father from serious stroke by pricking his ten fingers and squeezed out some blood. His father has a long history of high blood pressure. At that time his father’s lip is turning to purple already.

After his father regained consciousness, he was sent to hospital and stay there for a short while only. He didn’t sustain any damages to his body and now he is still active in his work (he is about 70 yrs old).

My beloved late father did this to save my late mother I remembered by pricking her ten fingers and squeezed out some blood. If not for reading this post I have forgotten this because everytime after pricking the fingers, my mother woke up and felt better. My late father came from a TCM background.

  13. Hi Chin and Helen

Thank you for sharing the real life experiences. Though I have yet to experience or actually do this, I do believe in TCM and honestly, the prickling of the ten digits make sense to me for what it’s worth. I believe in the blood letting just to get the circulation going (better than the build up in the about-to-burst capillaries or actual haemorrhaging) or simply to wake the stroke patient.

Other members are entititled to their disbelief or scepticism; that’s why we post here. I’m always open to different opinions or concerns.

  14. Hi Myra,

It is reassuring to hear that the practice of pricking the 10 fingers can be a life-saver for someone who is showing signs of a stroke. During the 1st Padang trip, I remembered Chin mentioned to me how a close friend of his has been appreciative of Chin’as assistance on TCM. Guess there are many health tips we still dont know. Thanks Helen and Geraldine.

  15. Hi Myra,

I have a firsthand experience of watching a friend who suffer a stroke and refused to go for treatment.

CS Lee was only 44 years old and survived by a wife. The incident happened when he was engrossed in a chess games with another player. At that time we meet at the then Hotel Otani for our weekly game session.

When we realised that he have a stroke all of us were helpless and suggested he go to the hospital. He refused and said that the pills that he took regularly will be okay for him. Finally we call an ambulance, yet he still refused to follow the ambulance. The next morning we heard the bad news that he passed on.

Being there and not knowing how to help was a terrible feelings we encountered. His refusal to go for treatment added to the misery!

The stroke was caused by a brain clot, I wonder if pricking the fingers would help in this instances.
