so we jumped to other flights..wow!..its fantastic experience for me..to be able to watch world players in our home ground..it seem so easy when they drive thru the fairways!…Molly,u shud came!

On day 2,Saturday..thot wanna watch on Tv..only bot tikets for Friday & Sunday(Lin din buy cos she always got free tikets!)..suddenly while doing my house chores early morning…ladybird Jessie called me..she got free member tickets!..wow..surely i jumped & grap la..tak boleh tahan!she so sweet..somemore pack water bottle for for me..like big sister!..tku dear Jessie :)
I was alone..nvm..but im fortunate, got lots of autographs from most star players like Lorena Ochoa, world No1(she sign on her Rolex advert in the booklet),Shin Jiyai, world No2(defending champ),world No3 Suzann Pettersen & many others!..even got to take photos with the champion Ai Miyazato!while she was practising her putting before the final(don envy la..YoonChin,hehe)

    Sunday..the big day..i followed Ai Miyazato,Juli Inkster & Momoko Ueda,the top flight la!..it was really hot..up till 14th hole,really perspiring & chao ta!…i slip..waited at 15th,17th & finally 18th!..
it such beautiful days to cheer for them!..am i gila or what!

After the prize giving ceremony & speach…we (Lin,only came at 3pm!..susah lah!..haha) sat & chat about our idol players & all..dinno that tv crew was watching us…& we did an interview for Razortv.com!….haha..what an ending!..phew!

Ooopss!..i better stop my lohsoh story…running for my yoga lunchtime class now…tata :)

  2. Hi Nor – I managed to watch the ending telecast on sunday from 1-2:30pm while having lunch at JB sutera utama after my golf game with my golfing kakis. Miyazato was really fantastic. I dont usually go to the golf course to watch the lives. I have friends who volunteer their services during this events as scorers, helpers, carry signboards, etc. Since you are a keen golfer, you can volunteer your services and get to watch free at the same time. Just give a call to the club and they are ready to take you. Meals provided free and get to play one free game (18 holes) at the club after the event.

  3. Yeap, weather was scorching hot but worth it.
Nor, you will be the next baby buaya on the golf course every soon. But hor, don’t putt the golf ball into the swimming pool, hehe.

    Happy working!.

  4. The golf event is on the way and will take off on the 22nd Mar at 1320pm, currently with almost 3 full flights of our regular golfers. This is the final call for all budding golfers, if you really a golfer, this is your chance to take the SHC Red jacket for men and ladies. All new golfers are encourage to join us, and dont worry about your handicap card, etc, as this is a private tournament so you are covered.

This year the rules are going to be stricter using the System 36 format. Also only SHC members playing in the same flight with at least 2 other SHC members will be qualified.

Final note to add, Sembawang course is one of the oldest British designed courses that has retained much of its colonial rustic charm and ambience. The hills, trees, quietness of the countryside and layout of the course is a both a joy/pain(when you dont play well) especially in the evening sunset. I usually walk the nine holes and find the solitude, and escape from urban Singapore a comfort that may no longer be affordable/the same in future.

The club will be undergoing major changes soon and like Seletar Air Base (those who knows what British country living was like over there), will disappear forever.

SCC after the revamp( taking 1 year) will be just like any other club in Singapore very businesslike, noisy and run just to make money or for the those with money. The warmth of the countryside and the people serving the club will be a memory of the past.

So for those who want to know what playing golf is like on a lazy British afternoon with golfing friends, this is your last chance, only 3 more buggy seats available.

    Cheers

  5. Hi Ron,

Hear you calling not once, twice, thrice but many times, hahaha.
Cant join your golf game on Monday. I have my yoga lessons on. Perhaps next round, I will join your mini golf tournament ok. Please note, I am available to golf only after End April.
Nor and Yoon Ching probably can join in the game also.
    Hope they hear me.

    Cheers and Happy Golfing folks.

  6. Hi RonW,

I have eyeing this golf game, and thought I would be free to join you on Mon 22 Mar. Again, got to give this mini-golf a miss, due to my travels.

Must say, I actually thought we would have more golfers in our club, ready to play on a weekday. From the response, maybe otherwise. It’s great you are still leading the golf initiative.

    Terence Seah

  7. Hi LinC,

“The Ladies Champion of Laguna”, in those days you were almost as good as Michelle Wie, only she is taller and hit further, but you were just as sharp with you irons.

So how not to keep on calling you to join us, and hoping you have recovered from your shoulder injury to show us a glimpse of your winning game. Maybe another game as you say after April and hopefully Terence is better settled down and knows his schedule.

Terence the way you are not working now, saying you are semi-retired, can put most of the working population to shame. Juggling work, travel, family life between here and BKK, running SHC programs, and at thes same time still being the nice zesty guy who loves whatever others are doing or dishing out to you.

One day when I grow up I want to be just like you, but sad to say, most of us have stop growing mentally that much ,settled in our old ways, but hopefully we can learn to grow a little and improve.

About golf, yes sad to say not many are really avid golfers, like Raymond, Ping Hock, Dick, Chin Boon, Janet, Andrew. Some only say they play but have not seen them hitting a ball yet.

I just played with Dick at SCC last week and he can a hit a long way and also played his best game of 94 in SCC, something not easy. Norlinda is also another one real golfer when the sun is least of her concern and improving her score is. But sad to sad she is away in Europe this month, if I had known, would have move the date to Apr.

Terence, I will let you gather the newcomers for the next game, in the mean time I will try to show them how to play a good game in SCC, the Commando Golf course of Spore in this coming game.

Three Flight is already a good start, when Dan started the badmintion group there was hardly enough players for one court. Now there are about 10 players on one sunday morning tryng to squeese into 2 courts for the whole 2 hours and also to the food court after that good workout.

    Cheers.

  8. The 2nd SHC Golf Open was completed after a rain/lightning risk delay of an hour, which provided a good opportunity for all competitors to get to know each other golfers better over Sembawang kopi tarek and paus.

A number of our regular golfers like Chin Boon, Raymond, Ping Hock, Dick Foo, Siew Hoon were discussing future golfing event and also the question of where is Terence ? Terence promised since the 1st SHC Open that he will engaged a coach and be ready for the 2nd Open. So many were waiting for him for this challenge. Perhaps he need another year to practice his swing and so we may see Terence organising the 3rd SHC Open next year, in Perth?

All of us enjoyed the game as it was superb Genting highlands weather on that day, cool, cloudy overcast bordering to rain at times.

Our male Champion this year is Dick Foo, who played a superb game of his life scoring 2 birdies returning a score of 94. Runner up was lady golfer Siew Hoon who was able to keep pace with two other guys when we completed the remaining 14 holes in 3 hours, playing a good game as well. Dick was very happy as this is his first ever in win in any golfing event.

For those who have missed this year’s game (like our most promising golfer Nor), prepare for the next game, maybe in Perth ?

    Cheers
