Monthly walk – Bedok Reservoir, Sat 11Sep

Date: 11 September 2010 (Saturday)

Meeting Place: Bedok Reservoir Park – The Entrance (Opposite the condo “Aquarius by the Park)

Start Time: 4.30pm

Duration: about 1-2 hours

Bus #s: 5, 21, 22, 59, 65, 66, 228, 506

The walk will begin from the Entrance to the Park, covering the whole circumference of the reservoir and part of the Bedok Park Connector.  

From the entrance, the landscape garden has many species of flowers and plants and is a popular spot for exercise and strollers with children.

Walking from the entrance towards the water venture jetty, you will see the area here abuzz with teenagers and young adults getting ready for water canoeing.  Further down the pathway, the fixtures of Forest Adventure from tight rope tracks to planks hang across the trunks of trees.

Joggers, brisk walkers and cyclists cover the tracks round the reservoir.  Walking past the Jetty Walkway and back to the Entrance would have taken us around an hour.

Here we can take a short breather before continuing to walk along the Bedok Park Connector towards Bedok Road where all the good food is.  You can see the MRT track from here and walk towards this after your dinner.

Except for the unpredictable weather, it would be an enjoyable afternoon for the walk along trees, reservoir, canal and the clear sky.

    This is my regular hangout place. I walk there with my dog, at least once a week. Well, today I will have the lovely company of all the SHC walkers, and that’s something forward to look to.

    Will be there, perhaps without my dog, today. Meet u lovely people @ 4:30pm.

    Some of you has asked me why have not seen much of me lately esp during the walks. FYI, I have a leg injury since quite some months now. Recovery is in progress but cant speed up! manage walk about for perhaps max 1.5hr straight.
    Doctor’s advice: REST my leg! MIA for awhile :(

    One tends to take much things for granted, like normal daily activities! DO now whilst you are able; be extra cautious though! kakakka
