Hari Raya ketupat, lontong and lampu kelap kelip.

Helo everybody,apa kabar? :)

I have not been in the forum for quite a while now..hhmmm..but now I squeeze sometime to cakap2..hehe

I would like to wish all Muslim members and friends "Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri".
Im sure the ladies must be really busy-dizzy..like me la..now still sewing my curtains!..kekeke..the guys buat apa?

For my non-Muslim kawan2,you might wonder why we fast during ‘Ramadhan’..one month before the big day.You know…tak boleh makan & minum (cant eat & drink) from dawn to dusk!
It is to practice self-restraint and discipline. While fasting,we must also abstain from vain talk, using foul language etc..
Last but not least, fasting month is also about self reflection, spirit of giving and helping the less fortunate.

Ok la, that is all for now..i have to continue with my poor curtains :)

  1. Hi Nor and all our Muslim members and friends,

Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri. I am sure you are looking forward to a time of feasting, catching up with families and relativies, and meeting old friends. The children have all grown up.

I was looking for a suitable song to celebrate this occasion. Hope the one of the left will bring back good memories of your younger days.

  5. Hi Norlindah, wishing you and your family, Selamat Hari Raya Idilfitri.

You must be good with sewing to be able to make your own curtain! I’m not good with sewing and get my sister to sew my curtain and I made cookies for her. Are you making your own cookies/cakes?

I’m new here and only have met some members, hopefully will get a change to meet you in one of the future event.

    Cheers,
    Jama Hameed

  12. Wishing Nor, Hamidah and all Muslim friends Hari Raya Aidil Fitri.

Nor Sayang, I cannot help laughing when you mentioned “kueh tunjuk”.

    Carly

  13. Carly Dear

    Thanks for yr wishes

Nor’s “kueh tunjuk” is for show only ie “Boleh tengok tapi tak boleh makan” so till last day of H Raya the container still full, save money lah no need to buy big qty hee..hee..

    Cheers
    Hamidah

  14. Midah Sayang

    You are welcome.

Bukan. I told Nor “wow your cookies all look so delicious. Did you make them?” Then she cakap ya, I use my finger to make them. Then I asked how ah?

She said “I go to all the different cookie sections and point with my index finger – this one, this one, this one….” LOL

  15. Last night I was watching “Suria” channel – around 10 plus -something called “….. Comedy” – a Hari Raya entertainment programme. Really hilarious. My Malay not fully comprehensible, but luckily they have English subtitles. Havent had my stomach in stitches for a long time. Next time if you guys want to find something to cheer you up, just switch to this channel!

  16. Oh, Norlinda, sorry just the 2nd day of Hari Raya only, it’s still very ‘fresh’ festive occasion – Selamat Hari Raya. Trust your curtains must have made your rooms very bright and pretty.

  17. A Muslim friend sent me this. So sharing with all Muslim SHCians out there:

When the sun has set, and day is done –
I”ll break this chain, but only one.
By the end of Ramadan, this whole chain will be all gone!
It”s time for Eid and lots of fun!!!

    The moon has been sighted
    The samoosas are ready
Here comes EID so just go steady
Lots of dua’s is all I request
and just wanted to wish you all the BEST!!!
    “Eid Mubarak”

  18. Hi Lilian, Gabriella, Peter, Bee Gek, Frisna, Jasmine etc.

    Thanks for your wishes.

Ivan, that’s a good English pantun (poem), tks for sharing.

    Carly #18
I misunderstood Nor’s “Kueh Tunjuk”, I thought cookies for display only but her meaning of kueh tunjuk make sense cos
mine also kueh tunjuk lah non “kueh buat” hee…

    Cheers
    Hamidah

  19. Midah Sayang

Ya la! Nowadays, most people are busy with their office work, so no time for baking. Unlike those kampong days where we pop into neighbours houses while they were baking to sample all the kueh kueh :) So sedap! But “Kueh tunjuk” also sedap lah!
